Good to see you calling it out; we live in a far left totalitarian society in Canada so they'll do nothing but ignore the problem and label everyone who reacts to the excessive immigration a 'racist.' The UK has the same problem, anywhere under left wing leadership is funneling in Islam while scapegoating their own citizens for being angry about the lack of assimilation. If we went to India and tried to import our own culture, we'd be called racist and yet when they come here and do it, we're still called racist because we're expected to be subservient and accommodating.

Pretty sure they exactly know why they're in Canada, to seek better life and it is completely disrespectful to lie about it in front of the cameras and expect anyone to accept you later. Some say they just love themselves too much but I'd rather say they are straight out lying about their real motives all the time.

Canadian that spent 16 years in Japan. I went as an individual. I stayed as an individual. Married a Japanese. Came back to Canada for a pension and can't wait to leave. I were in Japan and if I saw a group of Canadians arrive expecting Japan to change for them, I would have been severely pissed off with them. Every other country and normal immigrant that came as an individual or individual family probably thinks the same way I do. No one in any country likes to see "Mass Immigration" and even Japan these days are looking at an influx of half a million Indians and who knows how many more Africans. This will change Japan and they'll turn a good culture into their shitty culture and I'm not happy with that. I liked being one of few. Yes I had American, Canadian, Australian, Kiwi and British friends as well as Japanese friends. But we were all individuals that adopted the way of living in Japan into our everyday lives. If I go back, I don't want to be in india. It'd be like living in Brampton. What pisses me most is the attitude of that muslim guy. Yes you are out breeding us but not all majorities rule. In Malaysia, Malays rule despite being the smaller population. They have more Chinese and Indians there but they have to live under the rule of the native Malays. So you will have to do the same in Canada despite if your population is larger. You adapt to this country. The country doesn't convert to accomodate you. Individuals are key. Groups are the bane of all countries.

Yeah, these people will contribute to society and be law abiding alright. If they can’t even behave civilly and respectfully on Day 1, what do you think is going to happen after illegal entry? \n\nBeing desperate doesn’t give you the right to violate laws and be disruptive and combative. Imagine you have your family, including small kids and older parents in your home and had one extra room for rent, you put ads out in the paper and interview some people for the spot, but while you are doing that, someone walked in your door and put all their things in your the room and then expected you to totally be cool with it. Anyone in their right mind, would be frustrated, even if that person was really nice and and said they'd pay rent. Any sane person would say, leave, go through the interviews, background checks, and then we'll see if it works out. I came to Saskatchewan Canada as an international student in fall 2023. I did a care assistant program and was attracted to coming to Canada because I kept hearing that there is a labour shortage in healthcare in Canada. However I feel like everything just started going to sh*t in 2024 when I was finishing up my program ?.\n\n One of the things I'd like to highlight about the small towns is that they can be very biased in their hiring practices. Some of us as (black) students had a hard time getting jobs in healthcare in the town because jobs were given based on family and friend linkages (so mostly white or Filipino people got hired). Also there was a severe housing shortage. So even though locals (from my perception) wanted us to stay and work in healthcare (because they are short staffed), realistically there was no where to stay. Canada can't say it wants people in more rural areas and not improve housing in those areas as well. I have honestly been rather disappointed with Canada because I expected better planning from a developed country.

As an Alaskan, I have a lot of relationships with my Canadian brethren to my south, both personal and business. While supply chain problems, housing crisis, poor wages, cost of living, and immigration, are all huge issues in Canada, but in my experience, by far, the absolute worst problem I have both witnessed and been a victim of, is the extreme level of crime. Especially organied crime. \n\nIn many rural areas the RCMP is literally run by organized crime, and it caused the justice system to resemble something you'd expect from a third world military dictatorship. I never hear western media discuss it, but the crime in Canada is probably some of the worst on the planet. I saw with my own eyes in New Brunswick for example, is completely controlled by organized crime. This has a very significant impact on the overall functionality of the system. \n\nIf you travel around the world, you will see just how aweful Canada is. I feel really bad for the people there.

Bit of a side note, but Latin American birth rates have dipped so low in recent years (Mexico's is now lower than that of the US), that long-term migration from Latin America will probably decrease, because young adults are the prime migrators. This is especially true given Venezuela and El Salvador will probably shrink as source countries (Venezuela because it literally had so much emigration already, that everyone who would leave, has left, El Salvador because of the recent improvements in its security situation). I'd also expect to see some Latin Americans head for Guyana instead given its oil boom. \n\nFor context, it's not actually out of the realm of current UN projections that Latin America and the Caribbean as a whole will go from having about 2x the population of the US at the moment, to it being about 1:1 by the end of the century. \n\nThat said, this could also all be counter-acted by the economic hardship aging populations in the region would bring.

If India wants to considered a great nation, it has to start behaving like it. I'd expect this kind of bullshit from Russia or Iran, but India? I'm all for people from abroad, coming to our education system, because we have the one of best in the world, get an education, establish yourself here and you can make a great life out of it and you'd be accepted. Learn our polite and law-abiding culture, and you would be accepted. If you come over here with the expectation of becoming citizens, because our government markets it like that. The amount of times that I met Indians that don't care, are rude, entitled don't deserve to be here. On top of that, they bring in their third-world culture and thinks it's ok to behave like that. Yes, bring your culture. Bring your massive weddings, food, art and traditions. That's what makes canada such a great nation. But leave all the other things that you're trying to escape in India or avoid in India. That's why there is so much hate towards them.

If I had to listen to the noise from a mosque every day I'd leave Canada. That's not the Canadian culture. Immigrants need to fit in and embrace the Canadian culture and laws. If they are willing to do that they will be integrated with open arms. If they expect Canada change to the culture they came from that's not going to happen. You need to make your own country a better place to live and stop sh*tting all over Canada trying to make it your little India. We don’t come to your country to make it more Americanized. We’d be put in jail or kicked out. So don’t expect that we will just allow you to come here and try to change our way of life, this is NOT your right. Canadians need to come first. Being born and raised here counts for something. Even immigrants who have been here for 10-20 years don’t want you. They know how horrible you treat your women and citizens in your own country and don’t want that here. Go home. Canada doesn’t want you. We need to fix our own issues before letting anyone else in.

I'd be careful about mentioning an increase in immigration as a source of a problem here without providing any evidence of how that's specifically harmful. \n\nYes, we have an influx in international students - often underinformed young people scouted by private companies in places like India who are gravely mislead on what to expect once arriving in Canada. International students specifically are facing tons of injustice and being used as cash cows by companies and our government, since international tuition is much higher than domestic tuition. \n\nBut right now, skilled immigrants are helping build our cities back up. It takes a lot of people to plan, design and build infrastructure, to repopulate failing systems (cough cough, healthcare), etc. We're in a recession and individual industries are struggling a lot right now - but not because of immigrant workers. In fact, they are picking up slack, taking jobs no one else wants to do, and keeping the gears of our society turning.

I would disagree with the cost of groceries. I still think it's quite reasonable here. House is outrageous though. I wouldn't say that health care is bad but it's not great. You'll have to wait for chronic issue but for immediate help we do oretty well. I'd ask to look at the life expectancy and death rate to prove otherwise. A big problem is a lack of good paying jobs.

as an immigrant myself, I totally agree with Peter, he has every right to be protected by the system at the downfall, he paid into it when it was good for him, so he should be expecting some sort of payback from the system when he needs it. But our government is too busy making a show on the world stage, they'd rather spend billions on the hopelessness, than help someone who is actually able to get back on their feet with a small push. This is wrong.

To be clear, Canada does not pay for drug addicts to have their doses of drugs. They pay for them to have a safe injection site and free clean needles. If they don’t have any drugs and are at risk of dying sure to not having doses, or don’t want to be on drugs anymore, then they can get free doses of methadone which is a pharmaceutical used to help reduce dangerous withdrawal symptoms. I’d say this fact is much different than what you said. I do think there is a problem that needs addressing but you can’t expect right wing conservative givernwments to have a solution either since they usually just want to grease the palms of their rich friends.

Being an Indian living in Canada for over 22 years and working in healthcare system, I would highly recommend to check your vitamin levels (especially vitamin D, B12 if vegetarians) and general health regularly (it applies to those living in US and European countries). A known phenomenon that occurs especially during darker colder months is Seasonal effective disorder (SAD) and needs to be dealt with before it turns in depression. \n \nLife is hard l, no matter where you live but if you decide to move to foreign countries…just be prepared to face difficulties and adjust your expectations accordingly.

You forgot to mention Trudeau and his Liberals as being the most repugnant part of our Nation. As for racism, we didn't ask to lose our National identity with his immigration policies. How many other countries have to deal with Whites or Blacks moving, and then being 1/4 of your population... Safe to say, you'd take issue, too, especially when the people Trudeau let in expect us to assimilate to THEIR culture... It doesn't work that way. First, there's nothing like a language barrier, to me it's slavery mentality of we Africans by the Colonia masters who have stolen our mandates and identity and replaced it with English language as our official language. Basic tip : if you travel legally, with the right channels into Canada you will not have to struggle. The government will even ensure you are getting support while at it. Once you 'cheat' your way in please expect repurcussions. The canadian government is as transparent as you'd like it to be. I came here with no agent, followed the guidelines from the government immigration website, got a visitors visa for 6months, immediately applied for temporary workers visa got it within 45days, upgraded to permanent residency and got it within 60days. Once you breach the guidelines of Canada immigrations don't expect mteremko. The laws here are the most friendliest and yes Canada is made of immigrants. If you can come please do it the right way. Like you, I recently returned to Canada from living in Asia for years. I moved back to Vancouver, and the changes here were immense as well. Basically, the exact same issues Toronto is facing; unbelievably high prices, frayed social fabric, homelessness, crime. I had some pretty severe reverse culture shock coming from Seoul where you'd see none of this (Korea has its own unique issues though).\nI've decided to stick it out as my wife and I can make it work for now, but wouldn't recommend young Canadians, international students, TFWs or anyone who's trying to get a start on their professional life to come here. It's about as uninviting a place for your career as its ever been. Expect to live with two or three strangers in a one bedroom working at a job with low pay.\n\nIt sucks to see how far Canada has fallen. I never thought I'd see it in this state, but here we are.

Just like any major cities in the world Toronto is expensive. Forget Toronto- waitress or a model job compensation wont let you live comfortably in cities like Tokyo or New York let alone Toronto. Toronto may not be comparable to those cities but if the expectation is Toronto should be like Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh, or Lao that'd be delusional.

I lived in Nigeria for the 10 years prior to moving to Canada, and I also schooled and lived in the UK before that, so I speak with a wealth of diverse experiences. \n\nBefore you move to Canada or anywhere else for that matter, do the following:\n\n1. Research the country you’re moving to…what jobs are in demand, how that aligns with your qualifications…if you need to recertify or retrain in a different field. Many people move here thinking “oh I was a bank manager in Nigeria, so I’ll move here and become a bank manager”. It doesn’t work that way. The streets of Canada are littered with qualified medical doctors who drive Uber because they didn’t understand how difficult it would be to be certified to practice here.\n\n2. Find role models who are living the life you aspire to, or who have made similar moves and seek advice or guidance, and learn what they did right/wrong. Don’t just assume because your friend moved here, you can also move here and live the same life. You don’t share the same life experiences, history or have the same network.\n\n3. Before you immigrate physically, you have to immigrate mentally…be in the right mindset to live in a new country, understand their culture and learn to adapt. If you’re expecting to leave Nigeria and move to Canada to live a Nigerian lifestyle with “owambe” parties every weekend, or having 4 cars and 3 housemaids, then you’re still living in Nigeria mentally. Even Justin Trudeau does not drive 4 cars.\n\nI work in tech, so I knew that with God’s grace I’d find a way to succeed here. My wife worked in a Nigerian bank, and was able to transition to tech after we arrived here. Our combined annual income is roughly $500k, and we both work less than 40 hours a week, and I believe God will continue to bless us. I have easily 20 or 30 friends and colleagues who moved within a year or two of each other, and everyone is doing fine and working in tech jobs paying 6-figures. \n\nDon’t be discouraged by people’s failures and hardships. With the right planning and mindset, you can achieve your goals in any country. Reach out to people on LinkedIn, build a network and ask for advice (constructively)…many like us are more than willing to help.

You cannot just go to a country and expect to get things. You can ask for help. But not demand. Which is what they are doing. I’d be willing to help someone that wants to work and contribute

I really like the US. There are some great places with amazing weather. At the end of the day my home is Canada and that’s where I feel most comfortable so I would not want to move and I’d expect an American to feel the same about their country.\n\nEvery year I dislike the winter months more and more. I could see myself spending part of my time in the warmer parts of the US.

All of these points are subjective. I think the point system you used and the subjects you talked about are biased. I would have given the USA a point for innovation and job opportunity. There is more opportunities, because more companies choose the USA. We have a higher population so even thought there is more job opportunities in the USA, it is also very competitive. Your video gave a point to Canada for vacation and maternity leave rather than innovation and job opportunities. A lawyer in the USA has a better chance of practicing law than a Canadian lawyer. You gave a point to Canada for healthcare because of life expectancy. However I’d still give a point to the USA for healthcare. The life expectancy is a separate subject. The life expectancy is lower in the USA because of what we eat here. I would give a point to Canada for healthier food. In the USA fatty diet with sugary sweets is common here.\n\nThe video was really pros and cons for liberals. As an American, I could make a list that is biased towards the USA. When people like me rail against Canada's immigration policy we are called bigots and racists. I have family who live in BC. It is very very expensive to live in this province. Beautiful but expensive. If you are not wealthy expect to exist not live in BC. Moving to Atlantic Canada can equal the difference between existing and truly living. Halifax has warmer summers cooler winters than Vancouver. A super fun hot, dare I say sexy waterfront. I'd take Halifax with its five universities and rapidly growing downtown. Saying BC is most beautiful means that you have not seen Western Newfoundland. Like the best of Norway.

I'm Canadian and think the biggest issue is a lack of infrastructure. Even in a lot of major cities, things you'd expect to see like subway stations, corner markets, or arcades are uncommon. It's hard to find a job when there aren't many places to work, and it's hard to afford things when it's difficult or expensive to ship those things from place to place. Immigration could boost our population so we can better tackle these issues, but our system forces immigrants to start from scratch. That doesn't provide immigrants with much reason to choose Canada instead of the Netherlands, the USA, Singapore, or some other country.

You are framing this as victimization but in REALITY if a particular group of people shoplift or are not reliable tenants then of course they will be viewed with suspicion.
