Donald does not, nor has ever, understood politics or geo-politics. He approaches things as 'business deals' amongst businesses but Countries are not businesses. I have no doubt he is surrounded by people that have known these tariffs are a bad idea but are more interested in keeping their jobs than speaking up with knowledge and experience. Donald is a bully and you have 2 choices. Accept or take the gloves off. Donald is a twice impeached, convicted criminal. I hope the 150+ million that voted for him never complain about the hardships that are on the way. Donald has been authentic from day 1 of his first campaign. He's egotistic, narcissistic, arrogant, insecure, ignorant. I no longer buy American products nor will I set foot in country where half the population has no problem with his lack of empathy, lack of ethics, lack of morality. He isn't the problem so much as he has REVEALED a problem in American society.

Remember all the discussions and debate about implementing tariffs on our closest trade partners and allies during the campaigning of the last election. I don’t either…. That must have been discussed on a private call with Putin. Makes no sense otherwise. This is terrible for US end the west overall.

We will have to remember in the future that half of us voted for this. To not have the, “It wasn’t me…?” reaction. Why would anyone ever trust us again? I honestly think Trump doesn’t know how tariffs work. His acolytes are too scared to tell him he’s got it wrong saying the exporting countries pay the tariffs, he said it time & again in the campaign & his dumb as a rock MAGA supporters actually beleived him. The media were absolutely derelict in not pushing back on his claims they just kept covering him saying it, & here we are.

That was a solid speech from Trudeau. Tariff is a desastrous action from Trump. He hide his real agenda in his campaign. I hope a vast majority of American realize how dumb and bully a President they have.

Wow! Sweden here. I stand by Canada. This is how a true leader speaks. What Trump is doing is irrational and he still don’t seem to understand how tariffs works. He’s hurting his own people with yet another effort to break down all alliances around the world. He threatens Europe, Palestine, Greenland, Mexico and many more. Netherlands here: Trump HAS to impose tariffs because he promised it a zillion times during his campaign. As a major narcissist he cannot afford to say that he made a mistake, and therefor: tariffs. I predict however that this period will not last very long. Only as long as necessary to make it possible for Trump to say that they didn't work out as planned because of some reason.

For my personal gain I was hoping that he can relaunch American economy but I can't see how bigger tariffs would work......inflation is really gonna go up......wonder if he'll just go on a lying campaign and say it's just fake news and we're doing great....

Trump campaigned for months that these tariffs would take place if certain border issues were not fixed. All Trudeau did was appoint a buddy as border czar and did nothing else. He needs to go away ....

Put 100% tariffs on Tesla evs. That way it will hurt him more than putting tariffs on anyother product. Also allow Chinese evs on the market and see how he looses it. Elon musk has invested huge sum of money on the trump campaign. If he suffers so does Trump.

Everybody has some sort Internet connection. They need to look up what Tariffs are. When Trump was campaigning he said he was going to put a 25% tariff in China and all of his supporters cheered and clapped ! I’m sitting here going don’t they know that that increase cost is going to be pushed down to the consumer?!?!! It’s the everyday American who is going to end up paying that 20% 25% increased in cost!!! it’s going to affect our living standards and not in a good way! Not the wealthy people in this country who Trump says he’s going to protect because they’re his friends! I don’t get it! Trump is sitting here, threatening to put tariffs on all the countries that’s not doing what he wants them to do! And people cheer!
