Good journalism, it's good to get out and hear what people are thinking. In viewing, it occurs to me that it's hard for white people, and maybe Christians, to understand some Asians. I'm an American, so-called white American, and love Sanatana Dharm, or what most people call Hinduism - that term should soon be forgotten. Anyway, this video shows a variety of people called Indians but whom are vastly different in belief. So much so, they maybe fighting in India but abroad, they stick together. Islam and most Indian philosophies (they are not religions as there is no overarching institution or organization) feed the "devotees" several times a day...it is a part of the culture, shared meals with those who share faith. The Indians, they basically want a better life and will send money home. Muslims will buy land through a trust and then buy more and more. I don't know about Canada, but there are no such cultures in America - well, the Church has bought a lot of land but does nothing to serve people. The Mormons have land and a strong daily schedule, some community churches have very strong programs, but as a whole, The Church has done nothing to make itself appealing and therefore, there's no opposite or equal force. What to do? and as far as assimilating, yes, they should, but to what? Should they start playing hockey, drinking beer, etc. The second gen might. The West has lost it's way and religion isn't the solution but a culture not so decadent would be a good start.

Neither do I have any solutions to the current mess, nor do the people who made this video have any solutions. It's now like the weather - we can complain about it, but can't change it. Maybe Trump can solve it by breaking up Canada and turning pieces of it into new American states. As an American Donald Trump was a mistake. It's time for the American people to wake up and admit their mistakes. An inflated ego is not good. What Trump seems to try to get at most is the unfair act of the USMCA. Most trades benefited Canada, while Canada refused to provide the same fair trades. Sometimes Trump does say things that may have gone off track like fentyl handling on Canada's end and border handling. It seems like our borders at the time were less strict on the American side versus the Canadian side of the border. Trump did state multiple times that most countries like Canada were unfair to USA. Even with the USMCA, America got screwed by Mexico as will. America has been there helping and supporting and submitting to every country. Yet failed to support our own people when we need it, especially to clear up our own debts. Sadly, America is falling behind due to poor handling of Government Democrat corruption. I am neutral as both parties don't always provide the best solution for everyone. You have to pick who can help the American people. Seeing how corrupt the Democrats has ran America and the defacto behind of all the wars and money laundering has surprised me, and I hope the change with Trump will help everyone realize how screwed we all are in correcting those corruption that isn't really needed.

There's one about the fentanyl that I find rather strange. The smugglers wouldn't be bringing it in unless there's a market for the stuff. So, the simple solution is stop using it, and, problem solved. There's more than one dumb American.

Trump is completely unreasonable. There is no sense dealing with him, period. If it is going to be 25% or even 50% with reciprocal tariffs, we simply DO NOT import American goods into Canada (if our retailers don't order them, there is nothing they can do) and if we export, the consumer is paying those tariffs and we continue to manufacture. I honestly think that is the best, maybe the only, solution. If tariffed countries stop buying American goods, maybe Trumputin will reconsider. And if he doesn't, he doesn't. He isn't known for his brain power.

Your comparison to Spain doesn't apply here because we don’t have a construction bubble—the primary issue is that companies aren’t building enough single-family housing. God what a mess. Trump, despite his self acclaimed reputation as an “economic genius”, would likely never raise taxes on the ultra-wealthy and ensure corporations pay their fair share, as many currently pay nothing. Balancing the budget would also require curbing excessive military spendings, and if necessary, asking Americans to contribute slightly more, all to address our $36 trillion debt. It feels so foolish to keep trying bandaid solutions that harm the US labor pool. There's a couple of things I keep thinking about in regards to this. \n\n1. Most developed countries on earth are in the midst of or are preparing to deal with population crisis and depopulation. Strong immigration to the US stems this issue and is actually a huge advantage to the power and continuing visibility of the USA.\n\n2. Deportation and border control strike at the effect of immigration and leave the cause unharmed. People come to the USA because there's opportunities here, so why not make opportunities abroad?\n\nIf the USA were to remove benefits of dealing with china while offering massive incentives for moving manufacturing away from china directly to Latin America, not only would we be countering our Chinese dependency but we would also provide jobs at home and stem immigration. Not only that, but the businesses would be American and be controlled by Americans - a huge incentive to stay friendly to the USA.\n\nI don't know, just seems like our current policy and especially what Trump is suggesting are counter productive and stuck in a bygone way of thinking.

Same story, also moved to Canada(French Canada!!! :D) when I was 4, I'm 32, been in Canada like 24 years. Easy fit, my Dad was Canadian, so got Naturalized easily. I left Canada at the end of 2020. Mostly because of Covid/Work Opportunities in engineering. Now living in the USA with my Canadian Wife and visiting Canada 2 months every year, also happen to be born American, so again, easy(easier**, still hard) move for me. Currently working in engineering, less travel experience, but I did get to visit or work for long period of time in 5 countries. Anyway, I do have similar opinion, I think the solution is a federal housing initiative. We NEED to build north and have more cities than Toronto,Montreal & Vancouver. It would reduce rent & mortgage by a lot. Essentially solving the ''where are we going to put all those immigrants issue'', then secondly, we need to encourage entrepreneurship and business a lot more. We need more jobs and be less reliant on our USA neighbors or EU neighbors 3. Better transport, surprisingly a lot of Canadian don't visit all other Canadian province and prefer traveling out , hell, I want nothern Canada & Nothern Quebec to be more like Alaska, or make it easier from someone from Quebec to move to Alberta, but still easy enough to visit family and friends in their home state in under 3 hours. ;)

I'll admit I could be more educated on this but also why is running to America the solution. Watch our news. They use this for political gain. Year after year this happens and it's always that they changed a law somewhere. I don't know. I'm not trying to sound ignorant but unless they pretend to turn them a way but actually let everyone in, it just doesn't make sense to me to run through an American boarder. It sucks and obviously this is their better choice when they didn't have a choice maybe but still. If what we get to see and hear about what happens to them once they're here is true how much better is the choice to come here lately. I agree that immigration should be regulated based on need or requirement. But let me ask this, are Canadians willing to work in the fields and do all blue-collar jobs for $8/hour? I don't know about Canada, but the problem in the US is that most Americans don't want to do these tasks for low pay so businesses rely on immigrant workers. If businesses pay a higher salary they won't be competitive with foreign companies. There is no easy solution to this. At least Canada doesn't have a green card lottery (which is 100% useless) system but a skilled-based immigration.

The States have beautiful ocean beaches. Our east coast ocean beaches is so cold it can kill you.\nAmericans give the best customer service.\n\nMy Dad (Montreal, Canada) receives a small monthly American pension, since he worked a few years in the State back in the 70's. He had an issue with it and asked me to call their customer service. I managed to find the appropriate tel# in 5 minutes. Call and actually spoke with a person who answered our concerns and gave us a solution. I told her they need to come to Canada to train our CRA agents.

It’s not just bc of the party in charge. Our country has some of the worst American solutions to issues that are common in say the UK. We don’t take internationally trained doctors - make them do nonsense tests, make them live in shithole towns, reduce their wages. We don’t let international grocers or cellphone companies in to protect our own non-competitive, shitty companies. We don’t let international dairy in. OK hear me out, I’m a Jewish American but I have always been quite critical of Israel especially in the last 3 decades under the Likud government it’s nationalism and imperialism, with regard to its settlements and attitudes to Palestine. That said… Every time we’re close to creating good world sympathy for a Palestinian state, the power-hungry radicals of the Palestinian people always somehow ruin the progress, taking advantage of a power vacuum, and it’s stirring up the people once again that Israel Has to be destroyed off the face of the map. Then on top of that, during peaceful times with momentum for a two state solution, something always ruins it, in this case it was Hamas, seizing power over Gaza with the statement that Israel needed to be destroyed. Then Israel made sanctions to try to make that government fail, but, of course, as we know, it only starved the people and made them angrier and then they did this awful, unspeakable, brutal attack. Hamas is still attacking to this day. If Hamas wants to cease fire, they need to also stop attacking Israel and come to the table and come up with a two states solution and accept Israel. Israel is of course going too far as they often do but it’s a tough call as to what Israel should really be doing right now, while their constantly under attack and threat from their neighbors in a very active way every day.

The Law is CLEAR. You must seek Asylum in the first country you arrive in, which in this case is Mexico. If Mexico was held accountable for this they would secure their own Southern Border Period. !!! There's a solution to hold Mexico responsible, not a single American Tourist enters Cancun, Puerta Vallarta International Airport Airports until Mexico stops the Migration to America's southern Border. America is going to face a huge Humanitarian Crisis within the next 8 - 12 months at the rate Illegals are coming. This is all by design from the Biden Administration ?? And yet Hate Filled Anti American's cheer this on.

Healthcare: Governments have fkked this up. Admittedly, there has been a problem with nurses and overtime, but we are seeing the Alberta government attacking healthcare workers and allowing them to have also be subjected to the ignorant and misinformed attacks from the far right base over vaccine issues. Unvaccinated people caused more grief than was necessary when hospitals were being overwhelmed. \nTrain more doctors and nurses. Pay for their entire education. Pay them a healthy salary with reasonable workloads. Government should be paying for medical administration costs, rather than having every doctor and NP reinvent the wheel. Let the medical people do their primary job. Pay rural docs and nurses appropriately for having to endure the small town folks and farmers who think that only certain people are worthy. Privatized (and even profitized) healthcare solutions have become a nightmare for Americans who are not well off. And yet, we see our far right A hole political parties trying to push for this.

This has gotten out of control. The US is not the solution to everyone's problems. They think the grass is greener on the other side. So, we already had homeless people on the streets - even the veterans - . Americans are having a hard time, I think that there should be planes/buses taking these people back to the country they lived in. They need to be on the what list. Our country is failing Americans, and a fair amount of those crossing do have criminal records. Seeing a crowd this large, is this going to turn into a civil war? It's sad.

They will not assimilate, and it's going to be a burden for police, and entitlements programs. Which in turn is a burden on American taxpayers. Citizens of this country will be paying higher taxes and it's not going to take care of roads, bridges, electric grids. This stuff needs to stop. I don't want them here they ran away from their countries instead of being a solution to their problems. Send them back. We cannot afford to lose our nation to illegals!

I'm British, and I would choose Canada over the U.S.A. But? There are good reasons many Brits I know, would pack to go to the U.S.A today if they could.(The flight cost is immense though.)\nWhy would they want to? Kinda the american dream. Bright lights, believed untapped opportunities, and most of all to gain some of that American infectious enthusiasm & non jaded openness. I consider Canadians as generally having the best traits of U.K & U.S people. Wanting to live there, shouldn't be a loaded invite to dump generally on the U.S.\nI'm a hypocrite here, as I love tease mocking Americans. And yes some serious issues like health care & gun control need highlighted & re-highlighted, to not allow numbness to what shames a nation. But? Vastly more often than not actually detailed not generic solutions, are almost never offered. Just pointing fingers instead,\nIts Americans like you Tyler, that help remind us that the rooting tooting stereotypes, are dumb..\nFor what its worth? Let’s remember a few historical things:\n\nSpain ended up colonizing indigenous people in “south america”\n\nThe english either went into war and burnt their villages, or forced them off their land to shitty land.\n\nThe french were also in the mix.\n\nAll of these european groups used guns and force.\n\nat this point the native americans saw guns as the new means of power.\n\nmoney also has power, but if you’re indigenous, there wasn’t a great chance of that. some resorted to guns to make a living. once america had structure, the people with guns got deported.\n\nthose deported still resorted to guns having power, because really…colonialization screwed up the native south and north american’s way of life.\n\nthey started gangs and drug cartels etc. they will kill and pillage like they were taught by their imperialist europeans and that power has been passed down for hundreds of years with much more complexity.\n\nIf anything, America should go to war with the drug cartels studying where the cocain etc is coming from. if they want to legalize it or make it a proper business or something to make it, that’s another discussion. \n\ndo you think these people want to come to america and clean a mcdonalds at 2am?\n\nno. \n\ndo they want to be mowed down with guns at home? heeeell no.\n\ndo they want to be united with their families, culture, and way of life free of guns? yeeees\n\nget to the root of the problem.\n\na blockade or wall is not a solution of any sort.

You mention how Americans don't really speak much about the safety of their kids in school... I have another take on it; please correct me if I'm wrong. Americans *do* actually talk about it, except that their solution to the problem was 'more guns', wasn't it?\n\nWas there not a recent change about getting armed guards in schools, and at least a suggestion to give guns to teachers? I think I remember that in the news of the last couple of years. So I think they're concerned too, they just had a different response to it than Canadians.

Trump is the solution. All you iiiiiidiot Americans who voted for Biden and were mocking the building of the wall by Trump should be ashamed of yourselves. The states and Canada need to stop opening up the country for all immigrants. Let’s fix our country and take care of all our American and Canadian citizens first and foremost, then we’ll consider others entering and entering the right way.
