Let's not forget that this the will of the American people. Donald Trump was voted into office. He is effectively an embodiment of the prevailing American consciousness. A democracy puts a country's fate into its citizens' hands, and through Americans' short-sightedness, ignorance and apathy, they failed themselves and the rest of the world.

Trump is (clinically) a malignant narcissis. Hi personality needs to be fed by a constant flow of accolades from his chosen lackeys. He is so easily played by people whispering in his ear that he is being slighted (Zelensky and Trudeau, even if it is imaginary. It is ridiculous that America has allowed this to come about by their majority of incredibly ignorant voting populace. Starmer showed how to handle Trump. Grovelling and obsequious flattery. Noting else. We are dealing with a President of the USA who has a low IQ even lower EQ (think of a vindictive 10 year old). He has sly animal cunning for sure but that's it. We have 4 years of this moron, God knows what damage he can cause. The thing that motivates him ? Challenges, aspirational acts of benevolence ? Don't be silly tuckers and lovers, it's lovely money, as much as is endlessly possible. Is that the American dream? Is that what makes this English speaking nation tick. Looks very much like it.

As an American, I never asked for this, i voted against trump, and there isn't much i can do about it because im disabled and half the country is filled with ignorant idiots.

It doesn't make sense until you're prepared to face the fact that Trump is a wannabe dictator. Trump is a horrible, horrible human. I am devastated over what he is doing. I've never once given Trump my vote and I'm not a lefty liberal. I knew if he was voted in he was going to cause world wide chaos. He has shown his character over and over and over...yet a large portion of American's just ignored it. This election wasn't about republicans or democrats or independents. This election was about humanity and global security. American's ignored the writing on the wall for their own singular wants/opinions. They stand with their Trump flags but only a few of them can actually explain any accurate information about his policy or legal issues and they condone his behavior. The majority of Trumpers claim to be 'Christians'. Christians voting for a man who is a bully, abuser, liar, predator, monger of power, impedes freedom of press and speech and aligns himself with a dictator. He pardoned violent offenders and called them patriotic, spouts false information, obstructs investigations, has numerous felony charges against him and has now made enemies with our allies. Shall I go on? That's not Christian. Even if you aren't Christian...that's not what America stands for. All for what...eggs? Guns? Cheaper groceries? Or because your need for hating a small group of people out weighs global peace. Or is it because you are so short sighted that you can't even see the valuable contribution that non American born people provide this country. Yes, Biden fell asleep at the wheel. Yet many of you still believed the better choice was a psychopath. This election was important. We failed as a country by putting this man in office. No matter what party you align with, we failed. Yes, I want cheaper eggs. Yes, I really need cheaper groceries. But not over the safety of the globe. Not over the lives of the people and children being killed in an unprovoked war. Not over the safety of Europe. Not over ripping off our closest and favorite country that borders us. Not over losing our democracy and our allies. I stand with Ukraine, Canada, Mexico and Europe and the Gulf of Mexico. You should ask yourself what you really stand for.

Nice to see that Canada is still a great smart country we are all happy to be friends with; what really worries us is the country below Canada, since it is run by a crazy old man and his cult of bigotry, ignorance, lies, autocracy and pseudoscience. Lives were lost in Haiti because of Trumps hurricane response incompetence. Trump could have cared less. Trump sold out the Kurds in Syria. Thousands of lives were lost. Trump didn't care. He's a sick man and American voted him in. Now we have to live with it. Here in America, there is going to be a step too far. For half of America, Trump is way passed that. I am really frustrated that Americans seem to be ignoring this situation. Trump has cheated, and both he and Musk present a troubling example. It's hard to take America seriously when they are compared to Kamala. The election was compromised, and Trump is one of the worst offenders. If this continues, America will lose all its global respect. It's disheartening to see how Trump has managed to undermine 250 years of progress in such a short time, and the responsibility lies with those who voted for someone like him—a figure who has incited chaos and division. If he is given another chance at the presidency, it will reflect poorly on America, and it will result in lost cooperation from the international community.

Sadly, DT's policies will affect every American, including his base. He plans to get rid of Social Security, Medicare, SNAP, the PACT Act (a Veteran benefit), the CHIPS Act, and the list goes on. The drastically increased potential for political violence ever since Trump entered the political arena. This one also should be higher on the list. The United States could not even get through a transfer of power without violence. This is beyond pathetic. The peaceful transition of power is the #1 job of first-world democracies.\n#16. Attitudes toward social problems such as poverty and drug addiction. \n\nNotice that #4 - #7 could be subdivided into more than one reason.\nI thought this list was going to have 5 or 6 items on it.

I ‘ve met so many Americans on trips and through living in San Francisco for 3 months for a course. They were very kind, thoughtful and knowledgeable people. I also love many beautiful places in the States. I find though, that the media ignores Canada to a great degree only reporting negative issues . I don’t care for the super nationalism of the government, the gun laws, the many wars they’ve been involved in, nor do I like the racism and the present divisiveness of the country given that a person like Trump could be voted in and have so much power! That is frightening! I could never have afforded my two hip and knee replacements as well as other surgeries and the birth of four children had I lived there consequently, I would make friends with Americans who move here withthe same principles, but no to moving to the United States OF America.I was happy to return to beautiful Vancouver Island, (which was voted one of the top Islands in the world by CNN, Time magazine and Conde Nast, )
