Probably be hated for this but Sikhs are genuinely lovely people, they go out of their way to help others.

I'd honestly prefer Indians over Middle Easterners. Hindus and Sikhs aren't proselytizers and generally have a much more mellow religious vibe, unlike Muslims. Plus, Indian food is the shit, I dig curry and samosas. The thing you really have to be careful of, as is the situation with any instance of mass migration, is to be aware if newcomers are taking advantage of Western social assistance programs, like the Somalis have done with the welfare system. They need to understand that to be welcomed as new Americans, they have to work. Indians have proven to be industrious through hotels and convenience shops. I'd prefer them to Middle Easterners or certain cultures of Africans. That all being said, they should also come to understand that, having moved to a modern country, there's very little point in having massive families with ten kids. No need to endlessly spawn more people to help with chores like water fetching when you have indoor plumbing. It's an unfortunate trend a lot of migrants have trouble getting over, the endless breeding that makes locals anxious that they'll become a minority in their own country in just a few generations.

I felt for them Canadians, especially seeing that 19th century church being converted into a Caste-Hindu temple, no bad opinion about sikhs.. they r friendly people tortured by Caste-Hindus back in the 80's in india which lead to their mass migration for safety and Canadians helped them. Though I disagree with the immigration, the old guy in the Sikh temple is actually right about what he's preaching. Not to mention the Sikhs are known to be what Indians should be like. These people feed the homeless out of their own expense, actually help their communities and improve the quality of life because they are progressive with their views regardless what your race is. As a Brampton raised kid, I lived there from 97' till about 2023, I'm caribbean and we have a large indian/muslim/hindu population too on our island. (Trinidad) and the issue with Brampton is: Indian people will gladly intergrade, but Canadian borns won't welcome it. Walk with me- I'll use food for an example. Every other grocery store is middle eastern/asian/african in Brampton and its becomes harder finding more western style food. I love international food, I cook it often but if you're used to burgers and pizza and only know how to make spaghetti it feels like a 'take over' These people want what they want and even though all these places are free for you to also enjoy they don't like it cause it's too 'foreign' to them. It doesn't mean there isnt still a No Frills or a Walmart or Metro, but because the african and halal store are closer and more frequent it seems like more of a convenience to others and not to you. When people say we're multi-cultural, they mean 'yeah he's brown or black but he keeps it to himself' They aren't going to go to that Sikh temple giving free food, and only go to the church at the beginning even though they're welcome to both. It's the same for Diwali and other things, white people dont care to be interested in those things, and just wonder why they get to have it at all. I do agree with that indian lady at the beginning though, with lax immigration you come in feeling like you don't need to do anything to assimilate. They're doing themselves a disservice by only helping themselves. I hate stereotypes being perpetuated onto people but like that Pakistani guy said too, you live in a bubble and you don't pay attention to that. You can go days without speaking english to someone. You can't immigrate somewhere and shut out everyone already there. I get you may not feel welcome by the white people like the ones in the beginning and so you dont mess with them, and its easy not to. But there needs to be openness with helping everyone benefit from multi-culturalism and not just some of us. There are issues with immigrants not wanting to go outside their bubble and for canadians not to want to either, It'll be hard to (with the current issues we're facing as a country) to actually blend together more.

On the other hand Sikhs and Hindus are and will be strong and reliable allies against Islamic extremists. In the UK for example, the have helped hunt down Pakistani 'grooming gangs' targeting young girls.

Sikhs talked about humanity and helping but they don't help to anyone other than Sikh community even they don't help other Indians forgot about white people.

Immigration MAY play a role in rising prices... In fact, it's negligible. Private Equity and Corps are using the excuse of 'immigration' to intentionally drive up prices. Why have prices increased generally. The Gov't printed too much money to keep the Corps/Bay St Happy and share prices up. They should have just rode it out like the rest of the World (aside from Western Countries, You see the exact same thing happening... Rising costs, mass immigration, etc. coincidence? ?) . So in fact, it's not that things got more expensive... our currency deflated. Aside from US and EU at least... majority of our immigrants aren't illegals, refugees, people seeking asylum, etc. They actually can bring value to the economy (some would disagree... ?, besides that). As long as the Gov't ends the TFW BS... we'll be fine. Maybe... Doesn't help when Can Officials are sharing the bed with Sikh business Tycoons... Sikhs have a huge role in Indias freedom movement but one can't deny that farmers protests was filled with Khalistani elements and it was their job to keep their protest free from such things at which they failed miserably and the whole country saw what happened on 26th Jan which doesn't help their cause either. Sikh are the pride of our nation. They represent what brave, honest and integrity looks like. Their roots are laid in Service to humanity. I am proud of my Sikh brothers. All I have felt when I am around them is safe protected and respected. I would once in my life go visit the Golden Temple to pay my respect to this religion dedicated to service. \nThe government need to have a long term and short term plan for helping Punjab. I see how the current govt is vying to get foreign investment in India. I hope, they can set up more economically advantages industries in Punjab and North east of India too. Hindu Mandirs just want to collect your money. Mandirs are pure greedy business so much that ke rich ppl can do puja by paying extra.\n And Gurudwaras help you with food and lodging.\n Gurudwara is not business but social place. Most of Hindus also visit Gurudwara more than mandirs. \n It's cheaper for sikhs when someone dies than Hindus as Hindu Pandits will extract as much money as they can where as in Sikhism its like free. My Hindu friends used Gurudwara for last rasams of his father.
