Instead of blaming these people, one must question their own government authorities who make the rules and legislation to facilitate this. Maybe it's just the truth of a desperate Canadian economy that needs immigrants to keep fueling the 'aging' Canadian economic engine. I've been in Canada for 2 years without a Family doctor. Thank God, the last 10 different Doctors I met were all fresh immigrants and came to my rescue. Ask your conscience, without these immigrants, you wouldn't be getting your late night coffee at the time Hortons drive thru, no one to take your blood works without you waiting several months in waiting, no ways for universities to subsidize tuition fees for the poorer Canadian students. If immigrants stop coming in, the nice detached home you live in will go down in value, the nice truck you drive will become more expensive, your kids University tuition fees will sky rocket, Canadian companies selling groceries, furniture, etc. Will have lesser revenue and eventually get eaten up be American giants, Canadian companies won't have cheap labour to build those much needed housing. \nNot only question your government, but also question your 'own' people.. Where are they to serve you? Where are the so called patriotic 'original' Canadian Doctors'? They are off to US to earn more money. U think they care enough for their home country?\n If Canada won't, somebody Else will accept these people. I live in Canada as a Kenyan and I have been here for sometime .I work as a HR/Payroll Specialist also certified in the field. The problem is not Canada , Canada is a very good county which I love and I am gland God gave me the Opportunity to Come and settle here with my family.. The problem with some people coming here is lacking of knowledge how Canada works .It’s system is very far from how things work in Dubai or Gulf countries. A lot people are thinking than you can just come and get any job even without proper papers or you can earn a lot of money and then build wealth quickly. Which is A BIG FAT LIE. The tax in Canada keeps you humble. That is how Canada funds it's high end life many admire and want to be part of. The more you work in Canada the more tax you pay and many don't know this, and it is one of the main reasons why a lot of people start to regrets, because they realize there effort of working hard is not paying as they hoped. Another thing in Canada is next to impossible to get jobs or rent a place without proper paper work, like work permit, It is not like USA where you can use someone else papers to work. the The main available jobs , easy to get , don’t pay much. And also the cost of living is very high in some provinces like Ontario and BC. They hardly recognize credentials from outside unless you came through a job offer. Also because a lot of things in Canada are paid by the government through taxes, like health care, education. Unless you are tax paper with (and I repeat) Paper work, you cant access the benefit, including thee free food available for the needy. \nMany people forget Canada is looking for people to work for them. Not to grow rich and leave. The system is meant to keep you working. Unless you understand how a system of a country works, one will continue to blame it. Let people get well informed and well educated first , before they jump in the river. And it’s not Canada a lone , but any country in the world. Also a lot of these media post about Canada are misleading. And there is also another trap called debt, a lot of people once they getting working, rush to but things they cant afford and it becomes a stress instead of a blessings.\nIf you want to live well and enjoy Canada . One of the top thing to do is, go back to school once you enter in it, get a good education and you will get a good job. Also give yourself time to adjust. REMEMBER you are starting from square one. You are not continuing where you left in Kenya or in the country you get from. Also, the general social climate is not as friendly as those in USA for example. Not many people are willing to help for free. The most jobs advertised in Canada are the lower end paying jobs, which a lot of people pay a lot of money to come for, just to realize the job they left behind was far much better than this, but no one told them that, just because it said $18 hrs and you converted it to your country and looked a lot, doesnt mean it carries the same wait once you earn in from here. The living expense are very different. The reality is, it is not where you are , but whom you are and determination knows no barrier. Anyone who will trust God for help, work hard/smart and be patience in life, they will make. It might take longer than they expect, but they will get their eventually.

Interestingly, all the people interviewed seemed to have had a first degree in Nigeria considering how new they are in Canada, even the interviewer, thus if Nigeria is so bad how did they blend easily with the Canadian system if they learnt/gained nothing from home? The problem with mankind is that we all forget to thank God for little mercies. We focus only on what we lack but not thankful for the little we have. That foundation in Nigeria, that good culture, in Nigeria, that Nija intelligence, that Nija confido is what makes it easy to emigrate out of Nija and do well anywhere in the world seamlessly. So we gained plenty from Nija just that we FOCUS on the things we don't have and such spirit of ingratitude may not enable us change Nija system. So ingratitude is the issue too. We need to acquire the good things out their and come back and develole Naija. That's the spirit of gratitude otherwise our cousins/brothers and sisters who may not be able to emigrate will still continue to suffer the same things we ran away from.

How discouraging to hear you and even after I read the comments about Canada ,,, I'm French Canadian but have lived in Australia for over 35 yrs , since 1982 ,,, now I'm divorced , and no family here ,, feeling very homesick and missing my family back home ,,, I'm 71 yrs old now ,, and I would like to return to Ottawa to live where I grew up, but listening to all of you ,, and to see how bad Canada became ,, just makes my heart cry ,,, what am I to do ,,, now ,, even though I'm part of a church group ,, but they are not even friends , just acquaintances , ,, and have no family here , my children live in Ottawa as well,, even though I've checked out many things in Ottawa about finances and rentals for seniors , to prepare myself for what I'm up against ,, , and that's another thing , I'm on the pension ,, and my health is starting to make me weaker in many ways ,,, anyway , listening to all these info ,, I really feel scared and so alone ,,, I suppose I could give my life totally to God , and forget about my family and everything ,, since I can see that if I do return to Ottawa ,, my life will be a worse living hell than here ,, ,what would you do knowing all this info ,, where can I go ,, nowhere it would seem ,, God help me ,,, and show me the way ,,, I have nowhere to go,
