These ppl always travel in packs and gangs of people so they all support each other with money and aid in teaming up against others they hate; they believe America belongs to them & are ignorant of historical Facts & even so, do not care, and these ppl who refuse to assimilate or get legal citizenship, act entitled & present an attitude that everything here and everywhere but especially in America, is for Theirs for the taking...including white men...girls. They also have a very high rate of drug use / smuggling, early pregnancy among females, violence; gangs, etc...etc..far greater corruption & deviance than Indian culture which many of these things are mostly non-existent...at least Indians are intelligent & keep to themselves & are quiet....not that I support an all- out invasion...Attention though needs to also be on how illegal Hispanic culture, etc...has completely changed, and not for the better; the demographic & atmosphere of once peaceful, and at least once fairly educated, once nice looking American cities & towns...& they are taking all of our jobs, & then forcing applicants to learn the language of these foreign invaders, discriminating against citizens who don't speak their language; these ppl are getting massive funding in all sorts from all sorts of NGO's & elsewhere..: they are also driving far better, & more expensive vehicles than many citizens...so where is the money coming from...& they're buying up all our land, building housing for themselves, family, & for other illegals...which is, of course also corrupt & illegal...Money hungry & leftist leaning Real estate agents are just pushing these housing applicants through...no background check, nothing, and no one is investigating just that aspect alone...Many are also now copying American culture & opening up these copied businesses to monetarily capitalize on what sets Americans apart from Hispanic culture. As an American, did that weasel Trudeau just threaten us?! Um, he better backstep while he still has time. Canada has NO product that we Americans cannot replace with an American made one in a matter of months. Fertilizer is an easy one, Our farmers just need to go back to using natural animal/yuman waste which is ecactly what used to be done. It even saves farmers billions $ because they create a use for waste they now pay to have to process for removal. Lumber and products are also an easy fix. We Americans have millions of acres of timber that actually NEEDS regular harvest to reduce the forest fires that plague us yearly. But one more thing Americans don’t get is that before this fateful day an unofficial boycott against ALL US goods has been growing since tRump insulted Canada’s Prime Minister and threatened Canada’s sovereignty—whereas Canada’s official countervails ( which only kicked-in today )only target certain US goods, not ALL of them like ordinary Canadians are doing in growing numbers right now—in fact, the imposition of tRump’s tariffs today has only made the unofficial boycott bigger and more organized. It’s heartening that so many nations have solicited Canada, offering alternative sources for common US exports to Canada —citrus fruits, pharmaceuticals, and other manufactures, to name a few.\n\nI don’t think Canadians even realize how big this unofficial boycott is getting because it’s growing so fast. I’ve never seen a surge in Canadian patriotism like this. Never in my seven decades —which includes the two Referenda on Quebec separation. Indeed, the internet is replete with testimonies of Canadian”snow birds” not only forgoing their annual sojourn in the Florida or Arizona sunshine but also of selling their properties there with the parting shot, “I will never vacation in the US again!” Already Mexico has seen its visits from Canadians (who have had a modest presence in Mexico for years) surge to unprecedented levels. I know from much-welcomed temp Mexican construction workers in BC (where I live) that they view Canadians completely differently from our mutual US neighbours—and now that affection is growing like never before. \n\nI’m continually amazed at how uninformed Americans are about tariffs—and misinformed by tRump and his goofy, preposterous, and ridiculous fantasy of world-domination. This situation is unbelievable. Russia has been threatening to devastate Germany, and meanwhile, we find ourselves in conflict with Canada, a country that has always been a great friend and neighbor. Putin is simply waiting for the U.S. to withdraw from NATO, and he won’t hesitate to act once that happens. China will likely invade Taiwan amidst all this turmoil. Our entire government, regardless of political party, has failed the American people. Stocks are plummeting this morning, and energy costs are rising. How does any of this benefit anyone?

@Tradeau, Stop lecturing us about tariffs and threatening Americans. Your country has high taxes, and before it affects Americans, Canadian citizens will feel the consequences more. Additionally, stop pushing illegal immigrants and fentanyl across the US border. You call it a trade war, but we Americans call it a fair deal. You were well informed about the consequence but you never got serious about the warning. Canada must check strictly shipments from Mexico and China.

If the Canadian government wants to compete commercially with the US government, it doesn't have to threaten the American people that it will increase inflation in America. What Canada has to do is comply with what the US government has told it. The US has told Canada to stop drug trafficking from Canada to the US. That's all. But they haven't done it. Trudeau resigned as prime minister because he was deeply unpopular in Canada. Indians have used Canada like a flop house. Indians go to diploma mills and try to use it as a backdoor to stay in Canada. They take over Canadian communities and try to turn them into India - making the locals feel like foreigners in their own home. They're also involved in a lot of crime. This includes: auto theft rings, synthetic ID/credit fraud, gun and drug smuggling, and one of the largest gold heists in Canadian history at Toronto Pearson airport. Americans have stated that the top nationality entering the US illegally from Canada is Indian. The drugs they are complaining about entering the US from Canada are almost entirely brought in by Indian truck drivers (Google it and find many examples). A Fentanyl super lab in BC capable of producing over 95 million lethal doses that was busted was run by an Indian. This is now threatening trade with our main trade partner as a trade war has just started. ENOUGH ALREADY! Indians need to be sent home, and banned from entering Canada.

The post-war world order is now over. It's time for Canada to drop out of NATO and NORAD (what is the point of a defensive strategic alliance with the only country in the world that is openly threatening you with annexation?) and expel all American military and government personnel in the country. Canada, Mexico, Europe, Australia, Japan, South Korea etc need to form a new strategic and economic bloc oriented toward the goal of breaking America, just as we did with the Soviets when they were the largest threat to global peace and prosperity. Sadly, it is more likely that we will allow the Americans to divide and conquer us... literally!

Border control and immigration are absolutely a major issue that needs to be addressed. For instance, Canada should have been on top of border control a long time ago. Safety for Canadiand AND Americans. But Canada can't just give in. Where does it end. Everytime Trump wants something he is just going to keep threatening with tariffs. Do as i say or 25% tariffs. This is not a way to deal with other countries.

Europe should join South America and Canada and give the orange clown an ultimatum; stop his nonsense threatening or get a 50% tariff on all American goods.

You're better off staying in the U.S. I lived in Canada for years. Now in the States. The Canadian dollar is not nearly as strong as the American dollar. You can also forget about ever being a homeowner in Canada especially the major cities like Toronto you're looking at 1 million dollars for starter. Let's not forget the other hair raising cost of living. Healthcare is free in Canada but if you have a life threatening illness forget it. You can die waiting to get care!

In my experience, there has always been a feeling in Canada against immigrants. This is generally among the working class. \n\nIn the early 1990s I was doing a lot of work in Canada for a US tech company. I am an American, by the way. One time I was working with a Chinese Canadian engineer, who worked for the client company. We went to the loading dock to check on the equipment from my company, which had just arrived. The native Canadian loading dock workers were openly making racist slurs about the Chinese engineer, right in front of him. He was very careful not to respond. I asked him about it later, and he just waved it off. This was in the Toronto area. I was also warned about Chinese who were involved in organized crime in the city. Then, a few days later I saw it in downtown Toronto. Two Chinese men in a Mercedes had stopped on the road and pulled a woman out of the car and started threatening her. It was a tense situation. \n\nOften it is the government types that welcome the immigrants, for various reasons. Canada does indeed have a demographic problem. \n\nThis is not the 19th and early 20th century in Canada or the US or Europe. Today we have extensive social safety nets. This means taxpayer dollars. In the earlier times the immigrants had to fend for themselves. Even then, there would be feelings against the immigrants. At least in the US it was a time of rapid economic and geographic expansion. Not so anymore.

I'm so confused aren't these people going to yell at Isrealis and threaten death to them?? Like what's happening on American University campus'??? Canada had protests the other day of Palestinian protesters chanting about death to Isreal. Lets not forget the palestinian protestors causing violence and disorder in small business and malls. \n\nThis guy calls them out and he's the villain??? He's not necessarily wrong and the Palestinian people have a right to protest. And I do believe Isreals current force is unwarranted and more than likely has to do with Al-aqsa and a third temple. But... our citizens now get lambasted for having an opinion in their own country??? He's not going to their work or houses, he's considerably less powerful than this mob right now. What happen to speaking truth to power?

What a Relief!!\n2 I am tired of the MASSIVE greed in real estate that has been allowed to flourish. No way most of Gen Z will ever be able to own homes, if the are lucky they will get one passed down to them, shame you have to wait for a family member to DIE to own your own home :( Benchmark prices for home in Victoria 1.2 million, Vancouver 1.18 million, Kelowna 1 million. Very few people can afford a 6k+ a month mortgage. Shame on our govts that allowed this to happen.\n3 I am tired of the degradation of the family unit. Western morals have gone for crap, crime is up and people are happy to threaten each other. \n4 I am tired of the lack of available health care. All i can get is a 3 minute phone call after booking 4 weeks in advance??? wow \n5 I am tired of the people too, but in different ways. Way too much like USA now, people that pride themselves for ignorance, willfully ignoring science and safety or even common sense.\n6 I am tired of the governments, provincial and federal. Most of us from the prairies (Boomers/GenX) never saw anything but seas of white people and native Americans. You probably never saw a foreigner maybe you knew someone that did... This is not the same country i grew up in. Good or bad I do not know, but it is way different!\n\nGrowth and thinking Growth will make a country flourish is a lie, and it destroys country after country. Canada is next. It populace will continue to grow with no room, no jobs, no hope.

Many of the issues you bring up are the same here, but I am willing to deal with those over the impending chaos we are seeing down here. I am an American living close to the border in Buffalo, but I am considering a move to Canada due to the political climate down here. I would rather pay a little more in taxes & gas than deal with the Christian Taliban we are heading for. The Canadian housing market can be fixed, food prices can come down, but once you start losing rights, it's time to consider your options. When I (a straight white guy in his 50's) can see the writing on the wall, it's getting close to time. That being said, living in a state (New York) that will fight the incoming stripping of our rights, will buy us a few years. I can deal with all the other things (high housing costs, soul crushing medical debt, overpriced college, & out of control gun violence), but we are way too close to a civil war for my comfort. I travel up and down the east coast and don't believe what they are saying, we are way too close to a pre-WW2 Germany situation for anyone to feel safe. The amount of gun owners threatening violence is very concerning.

The thing about the job health insurance that a lot of Americans don't really think of as a business case: If a person has their insurance tied to their job, they will almost never be able to move to another one if they develop a life-threatening condition. Even with diminished bars of entry due to pre-existing conditions, your health insurance can be denied if you transition to another company. If you are denied, your best healthcare options are then tied to your income, and that means you basically have to be unemployed and living on social entitlements. \n\nThe thing is, this locks you into your position, and you are literally at the mercy of the company which means you're only going to be doing the minimum amount of work necessary to not get fired. If you have a socialized/universal single-payer healthcare plan, your job is no longer a limiting factor, you can switch employers basically at-will. The boon for businesses is that people will be more able to move rather than have to get you to do a dance with your insurance company. \n\nThe other thing for me is that having been in the US, I felt less safe in blue states than I did in Canada, and I felt worse in red states. The USA is a beautiful country, but it's a STRANGE society. One thing I can say is the USA tends to get bright fast once they catch on to how big a problem actually is, so here's to hoping that happens soon because brother, you have a mess of problems on your plate. \n\nThis isn't the only thing, but FWIW, I have had multiple opportunities to move to the US for work, and I work in a field where I can command a very good salary, but I choose to not live there. I'd move to Belize, or a Nordic EU country instead.

I've traveled and worked in many parts of the USA. In most cases, I've found people to be more friendly, helpful and outgoing than Canadians because we tend to be more reserved.\n\nThe exceptions are when Americans feel afraid or threatened for some reason. Then things get really scary very quickly. The gun culture is one reason for this. At a coffee break in Houston my coworkers started talking about guns because one of them had been held up at gunpoint. His car was in the shop to repair a bullet hole in his front fender. This triggered talk about where people kept their guns at home, in their cars and on their persons. A small pile of 3 handguns ended up on the table while we talked, two of them from women's purses. All but one of the people had never used their guns except at a shooting range. The exception blew out a neighbor's over-loud outdoor speakers with a shotgun. He felt this was justified because he paid his shocked neighbor double the destroyed equipment's value in cash. Most of the Texans didn't agree with him but understood his rationale.\n\nI can handle a rifle and shotgun. Many Canadians hunt, but I can't think of a place in Canada where I could have had this conversation.

My experience about Canada after living here for a few years now: \n1): Healthcare: There are two sides of it. If you need a specialist, forget about it, just live with your disease or problems and hope it will cure itself and won’t get worse. If you are in a life threatening condition and need a surgery, you’ll get it and the medical bill won’t scare you. I needed a dermatologist, never got one, eventually had to fly to the US for a simple treatment. \n2): Taxes: You’ll pay extra to take care of the large aging population of Canada and to maintain the infrastructure in the extreme cold weather. But, you can make a good use of your RRSP and TFSA accounts, and you can also buy American stocks without paying taxes. \n3): Travel and transportation: Forget about public transportation methods like buses and trains. You’re on your own. But a vehicle ownership isn’t very hard here. \n4): Social networking: Good luck with that. Good luck finding friends here or being a part of a friends group. Canadians are polite but not outgoing and extrovert. Most people make a few friends in Schools and College. You’re not going to see people of different races and origin hanging out with each other. \n5): Real estate: Population is growing, population is aging, it’s all happening but what’s not many houses are getting built. Buying your own house isn’t easy. If you’ve bought one, good luck with the energy prices. \n5): Landscape: It’s gorgeous out here, if you want to be happy in Canada, go out for sightseeing.\n6): Jobs: Totally depends in which jobs you can fit in and what previous experience you have. If you have previously done exactly what the job profile is asking for, for sure you can find a job.\n\nIn the end I would say, I have lived in many places, each come with their downsides, you have to see what works for you. There’s isn’t a perfect world really there isn’t. You have to take the bad with the good.
