Cant help but feel this is what trump and musk want, i.e. to have stockmarket get weaker so they can buy more. \nLook over there...(aligning with Putin dictator, Bullying zelensky, illegal firing staff, tariffs, accusing zelensky of propaganda as US fox news is known for it) whilst they shake markets up, risking world war 3 for multiple reasons. With the Supreme court in his pocket, the US is following Putins lead and becoming a dictatorship. The law is far to pliable there at this point. \nAll those voted Trump in and think he is making America great, you are DILLUSIONAL!\nHe will take you and your families down.. the young get sent to war, the old asshole sociopathic men sit by the fire protected. It took a very long time for Germany to escape the reputation after Hitler. You want the rest of the world to disdain and never trust your country and people?! Germany recovered, but it was painful healing. \nHow bout Trump sleeps out on the streets, deals with fentanyl addicted unsupported US citizens and veterans or get sent to war? Or what about his children or grandchildren?! Would he care if they were called to stand for the country if WW3 broke out, because of him? Europe has just announced an 800 billion Euro defence plan; I bet they’d be very interested in Canada’s critical minerals. Canadians will not forget this; this has damaged our relationship with the U.S. and it may never recover. We cannot forget that Americans voted this man back into power knowing who and what he is; they somehow believed that he was magically going to lower the cost of eggs, end a war and save the economy. Canadians will never trust that Americans won’t again elect someone so stupid and pathetically unfit to lead their country; we have to start cutting the trade ties now so that we will never be this vulnerable again. I do agree with Dumpty that we need to pull our weight militarily, so we need to invest in our security and we also need to align ourselves with Europe since Dumpty is clearly aligning the U.S. with Russia.

The President of the United States is trying to destroy America economically in my opinion. Don’t take it personal Canada. He’s fired over 20,000 people from their jobs with absolute disregard in disrespect. He left to get rid of which employed 7000 people! Trump led the charge to get rid of TikTok and then he left Office and it happened but he’s the one who started it all 7000 people lost their job jobs. He’s cutting Services to all American people with all these job losses and he doesn’t care!! He just cares about his wife, Elon, and making America white again! To start trade, wars is crazy when we’re just recovering economically from the pandemic, but he doesn’t care because being the president has made him rich because he breaks every law!! I’m so sorry Canada that we have so many idiots in this country that voted for this man because they’re racist and they wanna make America white again. Deport and freeze immigration! Canada needs to recover before inviting more in!

Intake needs to be paused, evaluations and deportations need to be made, and Canada's economy needs to recover.\n\nWhenever we decide to resume, skilled workers that can speak our language are preferred, enough convenience store and fast food workers that can't ?‍♂️

Canada added more immigrants than they can produce jobs or housing. Carbon tax and many other taxes and programs created also issue. We need cut spending especially so many social programs on tax payers dollars. These liberal and ndp promise false hopes and that's why this country is going to the ground no matter how much they try to justify their action. Is polli solution?! I'm sure he will do something to help recover and anyone is better than Trudeau now, but long term future only times will tell what kind of leader he will become, either a great leader or corrupted leader.

And this is why we shouldn’t pay crazy sums of money to foreign universities- it’s a rip off. They can tell you to go back home anytime after pocketing your parent’s life savings. \n\nIt’s easy for them to say go back - what people don’t realize is that if an Indian pays fees in Canadian dollars, they will need at least 15 yrs of earning in Rupees to pay it back. Where it would take only 2-3 yrs in Canada in earn the same amount. \n\nSo basically you ruin your life if you pay fees in CAD and then return to India immediately - you need to stay at least long enough to recover your fees.\n\nAdditionally, Canadian university degrees are not valued in the Indian job market, just the work experience. \nSo best not to pay to study in foreign university if they can’t guarantee 2-3 yrs of work. After that you can always return, it’s actually better.

The real facts are that inflation in housing and food are because of the massive money printing after Covid.\nFact 2 is that Canada has become super rich because of the immigrants.\nFact 3 ... life is tough for everyone and we all need someone or something to blame. \nFact 4. Uk was destroyed after BREXIT and still hasn't recovered. \nFact 5 .....

28-year-old Female Sydneysider from Australia here. Apologise in advance for the long post and rambling.\n\n\nNot sure if it is just me, so please correct me if I am wrong. Just probably now too overly 'realistically too cynical'. So please take my input with a grain of salt. 

For context’ sake, for most of my adulthood I have always been poor & I am born with special health needs (E.g. disabilities).
\n\n\nSometimes on forums we are often contrasted to Canada, for some reason. Both Canada and Australia have remarkably similar problems with a different coat of paint. Sydney, for instance, has always been high up in the list of the cities with the highest cost of living in the world. Usually within the top 10-20. 

COVID-19 obviously made this issue clearer in some circumstances because we couldn't 'work' at all. Unless you were an essential service worker, to mentally block out personal and local difficulties.\n\n\nWe still have not recovered from that 2–3 years global shutdown. The only reason I was allowed to work for a period was because I work for the animal industry and aid in animal welfare. 

I still lost my job due to COVID-19 regardless and knew I would never get a decent job again. Merely just the last poor sod on the boat to be thrown off. 

Could not become a vet nurse despite working very hard. Just because no one wants to give me '2-years permanent paid experience’ to be taken seriously. 

At the same time, way too many employers will happily take 2+ years of veterinary students volunteering at their vet clinic. With the vague promise of a permanent job.

Which, of course, never happens, then say we are being too demanding or spoilt for politely asking for said job.\n\n\nHow are we supposed to pay off our student debt if any financial service expects us to have a per meant job to pay anything off??

 No, they do not want to train nor help you. They just want free labour, then kick you out once your time is up. All my jobs have been casual, and my animal industry has already become heavily casual based ages ago. Permanent job is like looking for a magical unicorn.\n\n\nSo, even if you and your relatives lived in the way outer suburbs of Sydney for decades, being typically considered roughly lower-middle socio-economic families. 

The younger adults and kids all know and have been aware for years, they have no future at all due to having an inflated cost of living. Sugar-coating it, saying it might go in a positive direction, sounds like a blatant lie. We all know it is a lie.\n\n\nNowadays, in contrast to the late nineties and early 2000s when I was just a tiny naive kid that didn't know any better. There seems to be a more jarring split between the income brackets of what the country assumes who is poor, middle class or rich today. 

\n\nBy today's standards, my family is no longer even considered close to the very lower end of the middle class if you were reaching hard. We are considered 'poor' just because my parents do not earn roughly $50,000 — $150,000 AUD a year on their own in 2023. Wouldn’t want any kid to be born in a world where there are no safe guarantees for their future if their guardian unexpectedly passes away or can longer care for them. 

When something does not change within roughly 5–10 years, it is more than simply just valid for us to feel like we cannot fix what has been broken.

Being an immigrant myself I have to say that what one might see happening in Brampton happens to another cities as the result of sexual revolution, abortion and the destruction of the family that came to be in Canada since the 70s. I’m a Canadian citizen and married to a Canadian born citizen and we have talked about this many times. In order to recover this country families need to have more autonomy on raising children but also parents have to be more involved. It’s true there’s a lot of Indians everywhere and guess what they tend to keep their values. Here in Canada as per my understanding people used to pray the Our Father in public schools and children used to get bibles, families used to go to church and now? \nThere needs to be a very big swift in policies and others but the biggest swift needs to come from families within.

I was born and raised in Canada and in my 60’s now. I can’t afford to live here anymore, healthcare has declined, personal safety, fuel costs, insurance etc. most of all our politics are a mess on all three major parties. The Liberals are a royal mess and inflation went through the roof. They’re just running around like the 3 blind mice making fools of themselves. The Conservatives are involving themselves in a right wing romance with fascist trumpianism and think poutine is an ok guy. The hate speech is unreal. We used to be a real chill country. I have young 20 somethings telling me they think Communism is a great idea and they would rather fight for poutine if a war breaks out. Well it’s their future not mine. The AI, bots and trolls on the internet are telling them what they want to hear in order to stir up hate and entitlement. The NDP (New Democratic Party) is neither here nor there, they’re kind of always the minority and swing both the other two parties to divide the vote and gain some form of temporary power. \nI’d like to see a politician that has the balls to stand up to the dictators of this world that shit disturb in every continent because they are such little insecure bastards that they think they can conquer it. I’ve got news for them. Every single dictator in history has failed… miserably and often brutally. We need the kind of leadership in our Country that can produce good governance. Our GDP is just under $60K. The dictators out there are rubbing their greedy little hands, for if there is ever a 3rd world war, Canada will be the prize. We are loaded with resources. Land mass, water, minerals, oil and gas, technology, geographic strategic stronghold etc. Don’t let it slip into the hands of fascists, communists, dictators or totalitarians they always make it worse so that it takes a lifetime to recover. I’ve spent 40 yrs in the workforce, and listened to countless people from every continent who told me the truth about why they left their homeland. People who survived WW2, the Korean War, Vietnam War, communist China, expansionism of the USSR, the caste system and political persecution in India and Bangladesh. Political unrest in Argentina and Chile. I have personally witnessed systemic racism in the USA and Canada. \nI don’t have anything tying me down to stay here so I will be moving on. I think I’ll just become a nomad tourist for a while.

Regardless of all the mud-slinging in the comments, I strongly advise any prospective immigrants to Canada to consider their situation/ aspirations seriously before making the move to Canada. While Canada is indeed a beautiful country, especially from spring to fall, there is no doubt that it has fallen behind severely in recent years. This is a massively underperforming country and people (Canadians and immigrants alike) are struggling big time. There is a massive leadership problem in Canada, where trivial problems get 99% of the attention. Real problems (which are easily solvable by the way) get little to no attention at all. Either there is very little will or the current administration is simply incompetent. Either way, some structural changes need to happen before Canada can recover.

Like the Germans at the end of WWII Trudeau is stealing everything he can hobbling any chance of Canada recovering in the next 30 years and the BLOC and NDP are complicit in their crimes and the general public wonders why rent and food are unaffordable, welcome to the new third world Canada vote for your favorite again..... just shows that the voting age should be 25 and politicians need to be qualified intellectually with degree's other than drama majors....

My 28 year old son was laid off during Covid. While laid off he suddenly developed epilepsy and started having clusters of severe seizures and needed periodic hospitalization.\nIn Canada he was given 5 days of 24/7 seizure monitoring. From that they determined brain surgery was the best option so he got the surgery and is now recovering and getting therapy for recovering some of the language skills that were affected by the surgery. He has had no seizures since the surgery.\n\nThe point of all this is that in the USA my son would have had no coverage for any of this and we would all either be bankrupt or he would remain untreated. Our cost in Canada has been $0.

I'm from Canada. My friend had a heart attack on a ski hill. He was promptly given a full bypass surgery, recovered in hospital and discharged. No charge. That would be a life ending event in the US, if not by dying from the heart attack, from financial devastation. I have always been treated well and thoroughly tested when needed.
