Classic government

Every major US city is struggling to budget for illegal immigrants. This is why trump has done so well in cities, poorer Americans find themselves in direct competition with illegal immigrants for government resources. If you looked at figures like the number of encounters at the southern border and the amount spent on illegal immigrants this would make it obvious why Americans are upset. Instead you just paint poor Americans as xenophobic and don't even give that view a fair representation. Classic elitist bias.

From Poland. Arrived yo Canada at the end of 2020. I am nearing my 4th year here, in a small village. I arrived with my 6-year-old daughter to begin my writing career. Now, 40% of my daughter's childhood has been spent here and I I go to court soon to fight for my child to be returned home to me. After nearly one year- a year of financial hardship because I have to travel without a driver's license and without a group of friends to drive me- I have my very first hearing with a judge in Youth Court in a matter that has no foundation to begin with, follows no rule of law, and acts arbitrarily. My child whom I homeschooled to the praise of the provincial ministry of education and was following a classical liberal arts education path that had her outpacing students in the province was entrusted to the care of a Child Services company (that has a record of placements that have resulted in child murders). My child's life has been irrevocably upset to say the least. NO ONE LEAVING CANADA GIVES THIS STORY AS A RESON FOR QUITTING THIS COUNTRY. I guess no Canadians care about their children like I do my precious gift from God. True, O come from the former Soviet Union where Marshal Law (Emergency Measures Act) were commonplace. I lived through two in Canada in 4 years: one Federal, and one through Provincial Youth Court where I await my turn to see a judge after my daughter was removed from my care. People do not know they have no biological ownership of their children, because I guess few Canadians value their children to care about their own laws. But these laws also apply to immigrants too. What money was taken from me during the move and resettlement, the government takes by creating more expenses for me than I could ever imagine or budget for. Emotionally, I am a wreck. Rather than commencing my writing career, I have been seeking low-income lawyers, reading the provincial law on Youth Protection, filing complaints within a circular system (the watchdog is part of the system not outside of it) and preparing all evidence to prove I have done nothing wrong [just like in communist rule]. Have you ever given any thought to the difficulties in proving your innocence? \nNO ONESEEMS AWARE OF THIS DETERENT TO BRINGING CHILDREN TO CANADA. NO ONE. IT IS THE ONLY ONE I COULD NOT PLAN FOR. All other complaints like the economy, or the weather, or inflation I have survived. But taking away my child, my reason to settle in Canada for a life of freedom for her, my legacy, was unthinkable. People ask me in this small village where is my daughter. Their rosy cheeks become snow white when I tell them. Canadians here are unaware and scared like cattle in a thunder storm. Many are addicted to welfare payments, cannabis, prescription drugs, and television. They all seem to be waiting in a pen of fear. I am stuck here now, with little financial resource to fight for my child's life. It is unfortunate that no one will read my comment because it is an inscrutable wall of text or too frightening. Unless someone reads it, no help will come for my daughter. (Because she is a dual citizen, the local Polish Ambassador will not step in - another drawback for having a Canadian passport). Goodbye now.

Liz seems to exemplify the following, which I learned in a first year macroeconomics course… The first rule of economics is understanding limited resources (supply and demand curves along with production advantages); wether you are a private entity, a non-governmental organization, or a formal government, this rule is unquestionable… Moving on… The first rule of politics, particularly with the progressive left (and I say this as a classical liberal) is to ignore the first rule of economics… No matter how sophisticated technology becomes, a centralized government will never be as efficient as the invisible hand.. Likewise, progressives these days (which apparently includes most liberals from what I see), never think about how open borders impacts housing demand, which impacts the market price for housing.. Yet, they somehow think the government can fix all of this (simultaneously ignoring that the government must become authoritarian to actually do so; all while demanding democracy - reminding me that democracy is two wolves and a sheep deciding on what is for dinner)… Anyways, maybe my initial conclusion is premature, just sharing my thoughts!

I'm a Nova Scotian in Toronto that went to High School and College in South Carolina then lived in Chicago.\n\nI agree with a lot of what you say but not on Chick-fila. It is just over priced now. in the 90s in SC it was so GOOD. \n\nMy only hard disagreement is our politics. Our politics are boring I agree but that is because classically in Canada, our politicians stick to the issues. We try not to make our politics a spectical like Pro Wrestling. Frankly, Canada is freer & more democratic. I'm no Trudeau fan but his government got their shit together for Covid and have really done an amazing job on the economic recovery. Where the so calll Conservatives are cozying up to some very extreme groups that talk a lot of herritage shit while crying about immigration. As a white guy, trust me when I say, when we whites start getting worked up about herritage and immigants it is a bad combo.\n\n\nAnyway, sorry to get so intence, I really did like your video and glad you have both made a home here. I honestly think some Canadians people have memory problems. 30 years ago Brampton was known as the town with the most Indians. Nobody complained. The cost of living and housing went up in the last 10 years and now all of a sudden people complain about something that has always been. The only difference is theres more Indian students. Its a student issue, not an Indian issue. Then you got white drugged up people blaming immigrants for their choices. Nobody forced you to do drugs. If you are poor and homeless this does not mean you turn to drugs. The land is vast, there are plenty of chances. Blaming immigrants for your failure is a classic gaslighting tactic that is just pure bs. The reason why crime and drug addiction is up, is because lack of government punishment for open drug use, lack of protecting the mailing system, lack of cracking down and normalization of drug use. You go to Dubai, An Arab city that has majority Desi people. Where is the crime where is the drugs? None. Everyone is happy. This is not an Indian issue this is a Canada issue.

South Asian Indians are fourth generation Canadians and are educated, successful and have assimilated with the European culture. The french lady should see Montreal, it is cool to see Indians, Chinese speaking French. Do you ask why there are too many Chinese in Chinatown? Sadly the new immigration are bad Trudeau policies that India wanted deported back. Others are temporary honest Indian students that are being ripped off by Canadian wrong policies of shameless cash grab. Assimilation for new immigrants could be something in common e.g. free classical piano lessons for everyone in school. Music and language is a great first step in communication. The drug problem has nothing to do with immigration, it is the result of their own culture of drug abuse and bad Canadian policies. I think it is sad that the woman seems to be so negative without realizing the she has to care and use her power for good by demanding that no Canadian should be on the streets, this is why ALL Canadians (especially include South Asian Indians) pay taxes. where is our money going? is not the Canadian Government responsible for the welfare of ALL Canadians? we were the peacekeepers. Canada is a puppet to western primitive thinking foreign policy in a proxy war to destroy beautiful Christian Russia?? Trump has outsmarted Trudeau on every agreement. Canadians are paying double to a country that wants our water!!! I wish Senior Trudeau was here to protect Canadians.

Blaming immigrants is a bit odd and clearly not addressing the real issues of the housing crisis which is insufficient supply and financial investment (essentially you can make the most money out of any investment in it with incentives governments have had in place for years - a classic bubble). For health care, clearly a lack of sufficient funds for an aging society and with worse and worse lifestyles (food, exercise) for our increased longevity. If we don't want immigrants we should consider increasing wages for certain work with clear shortages such as long term care for the elderly - which for reasons stated before, will have a demand that grows exponentially.

Infrastructures are all collapsing and with government determined to keep importing at 500,000 plus a year things can only get worse. Canadians tend to be smug types who think they live in an unpopulated version of the US and have no idea of its severe limitations. There is no 'we' anymore. The nascent identity and culture has been shattered by a specious 'multiculturalism' which pushes classic Canadians to adapt to the customs of migrants rather than the logical opposite. My money's on the Islamists.

I also feel that your decision is the right one. When people move to another country they are expected to adapt to the general culture of that place. And Islam is not really compatible with Canadian values. For the sake of your children it will be better to raise them in an Islamic country. As an aside: the Canadian government does not support the war itself in Gaza, they just are against the gruesome massacre of October 7 (a true genocide by classic definition), and consider the fact that the war was forcibly brought upon Gaza by that event.

Wherever you have very high cost of living there will be high level of crime, i can,t believe that everything is so expensive, especially rent. Where is the government? It looks like classic rip off..

The Christmas song 'Baby it's cold outside', a classic song written in 1944, is banned from radio stations in Canada but the Liberal government is fine with cultures that require women to hide their hair and face. Very interesting, scared to see where the country is going...
