Close up the southern border permanently. I'm tired of terrorists coming into our country at will!

From just south of your southern border, we depend on Canadian visitors. Without you, this place will be a ghost town. Businesses will close. I and many others over here support Canada in whatever you need to do.

The coyotes are still operating to get people across...they are just going through California, a sanctuary State!!! ??? i just saw a report of sales people in a coyote office working a little harder to get their customers. It is expensive to pay a coyote. So it is a very lucrative business!! Lots of folk from Europe are in the coyote business. It is shocking that ICE is helpless as these coyotes advertise in the open in a lot of countries!! \nCountries like Ecuador have visa on arrival for any country and so they all fly into those countries who get an income from visa fees. Chinese, Filipinos and indians are using that route. They have to get to the Southern border, it is like getting from NY to LA. So it is expensive. But the coyotes have not closed shop! They know they have California open!!

Just like you have to protect your southern boarder the USA needs to have accountability at the northern border. So what’s with the double standard. It’s not all on Canada. As a Canadian I’m glad that we are doing something about this. But as the southern border was closed we have a lot more people coming to Canada illegally trying to get to the states or staying here. We have to do more, of course we do.

It really isn't a difficult matter to solve. 1) Get the actual border under control. 2) Tell Mexico; and demonstrate it to them if necessary, that you'll close the border entirely if they don't get a grip on their own southern border. The result = Poof, goes the Mexican economy. 3) Round up the criminals.\n\nDo those 3 things and you'll bring some sanity back into the system which is all anyone really wants. It won't mean 11M get deported; perhaps 1-2M at most, but if there's a sense of order again, I can't see anyone caring. Then we can talk about a possible path to citizenship for the rest.

Not just businesses but farmers and individuals who employ and use these illegals should pay a fine and have their “help” kicked out. Fines for the use of these peopel by citizens will be one way to pay for the deportations. Close the southern border off for the first 6 months of 2025.

Sorry but who was given the impression that the southern border was closed, it hasn't been closed since Biden got in to office.

Canada brought in 1 million immigrants from Jan 2021- Dec 2023, a 2.5% population increase. That, would be the equivalent of 8.75 million immigrants coming across the southern border over 2 years. Canada doesn't have jobs or housing for many, there's no checks and balances to see who are criminals. America needs to close their borders because 13000 asylum seekers is only the beginning. More and more immigrants to Canada are finding out it's too expensive to live here, and they have no future here. That, will force them south before they choose to go back to where they came from.

It is happening both ways, USA and Canada. For 8 years, migrants have entered USA from its southern border, prob. from Central America, then bussed to New York, then put into taxi's at New York and driven at Roxham Road into Canada. We don't need them in Canada either. Last I heard, Roxham Road has been closed. Only way to bring sanity back to the way it once was is to elect Trump in USA and Pierre Poilievre in Canada where migrants will be sent back to their places of origin.

If I had the apparently unlimited budget that our government has, you could bet I could close the Northern border ... People in this country just want to be too damned nice about it. Applies to the Southern border, as well. Message to the 'immigrants' - there are LEGAL options ... use them!!

This is out of control. Trump needs to close all borders with executive decision, shift the National Guard and Homeland Security resources to the northern border, beef up border patrol at the southern border, and institute Stay In Mexico and Stay In Canada policies with both the heads of those countries. If they will not comply drop 100% tariffs on them. Open unfettered asylum to America is over.

This is why Trump in the US is so popular. Trump policies: #1 he will close the southern border , 15-30 k immigrants a day everyday are allowed to into the US. Some of these immigrants are coming to do harm to the US . They are usually from Muslim countries and African countries. Most coming from South/central America are coming to work in the US , ecape violence/gangs and are also Christians (same religion ). #2 trump stated he will take away birthright citizenship. That is, if both parents are born/citizens from, for example, Syria, then their children born in US will not be granted US citizenship. The children will granted citizenship of their parents. As I watched alot of EU countries Finland, Poland, Lativia closed their borders to immigrants. The US wants to do the same . We gets labeled racists for wanting this same policy. Those EU countries got applauded ??for closing their borders for safety concerned for their citizens. If Canadian or American were to move to either country, we respect them. Americans respect Canadian laws, culture ect . Americans also wouldn't move to Canada or the UK to commit crimes or overthrow the government. If Canada is so immigrant friendly, then why did they close up the New York border crossing that was accepting illegal immigrants from the US southern border?

Listened carefully to everything that was commented on and I too was a little surprised by what I heard. Being from southern Ontario actually near Buffalo and I am close to the USA but I am glad to be in Canada. Many of my friends go to Florida for the winter. They state that they will politely listen to the politics but never chime in with their opinion. The american political situation is very much like the religious situation with the Irish and the Northern Irish Catholics vs the Protestants. Your political separation borders on insanity. The current republicans lie through their teeth and keep repeating those lies. Listening to the Irish is equally exhausting. When I travel to the United States I am always glad to be home when the trip is over. While in America, I find most people are wonderful and we are always treated very well. If the Republicans snap out of it and the gun lobby loses their grip on the narrative that everyone needs a gun I think the attitude of Canadians might change. One thing for sure I am very happy that big brother is right next door and we will never have to deal with what the Ukrainian people are going through. In that instance I am glad that America keeps improving their weapon systems and their innovations and mass military production. \nI am sure there are many lovely places in the USA but the media focuses on the bad news of the day where violence and shootings and political insanity dominate news. Meanwhile most Americans are enjoying their lives in peace.

The southern border of Mexico should be closed to prevent this. But both governments _(México & USA)_ are to blame for allowing this in the immigration agreements.

These optics the reason why Dems will lose in 2024 because the belief will be that it's the Republicans are that party that can successfully fix this and successfully close the southern border. Elections 2024 will be a one issue election, above all...this.

Some small criticisms.... Brain drain hasn't been a thing in Canada since you can't just cross the border and start working in the USA. Also, when you say that the majority of Canadians live within the American border, that does not include the Alaska border. the majority of us live close to the southern border.

As a mexican I would love the US to just close the border with us until these idiots here in our government get to work and protect our southern border, or just threaten our government with sanctions or something to put pressure on them, we’re tired of open doors where anyone can enter Mexico without any control whatsoever.

Simple Solution! \n#1. Canada and the US both need to stop illegals crossing the Border in either direction. \n#2. The US HAS TO stop everyone crossing the Border with Mexico NOW!!! Canada might be bigger, but 90% of the population lives in a line close to the southern border. The rest is mostly undeveloped nature. But yeah, 10x more people will account for more of the danger associated with density
