I’m a recent Indian immigrant and I’ve lived in Singapore, Malaysia, the USA, and now Canada. I’ll admit that a lot of what’s said here is true: there are far too many cases where Indians abroad show a lack of civic sense, break rules, or behave in ways that don’t respect the host country.  Personally, my family and I have always assimilated wherever we’ve lived, respecting local customs, following rules, and contributing positively to the community and I hate it when immigrants don't assimilate into the local culture and reside in their own enclaves, I mean what was the point of emigrating then?? I truly value the peace and order these countries offer, and I want to give that back. Every community has good and bad examples. The responsibility is on us as immigrants to lead by example, integrate genuinely, and show that we can be respectful, responsible citizens. That’s how perceptions change for the better. It sucks that a whole racial group can be disliked because of some bad apples — and in our case, unfortunately, there are quite a few.

Humans, like any other animals, have survival instincts. Seeing a threat, would make me scared of all related things as a threat. Our prejudices develop and little few percentage in any community can make us hate the whole community. Maybe it’s high time to break that instinct survival barrier and see if all are welcomed for the free food, belongingness and if they’re paying taxes. In response to the judging of immigrants. Interesting how we rarely see immigrants on our street corners asking for a handout. Instead they're at work making just barely enough to eventually have their own business in a few years. I am so sorry, as a native Canadian, that Indians are feeling attacked. It is difficult, no matter your ethnic background, if you are not Indian to even acknowledge these issues because people are afraid of being labelled as racist so I thank you for bringing this topic up. Please understand this is the result of runaway immigrations with no real screening. The government quadrupled immigration, hundreds of percents increase in students, asylum seekers, and illegal entries, even though there was already a housing crisis, and a completely predictable doctor shortage due to aging out. Covid was just starting to get under control but many still needed treatment and BOOM, the population went from 30 million in 2014 to over 40 million in a decade, most of it in the last 3 years. We native Canadians are scratching our heads, we don't understand what the Liberals are trying to accomplish but to create suspicion and racism between groups of people -- divide and conquer? I've lived and worked with Indians my entire life of over 60 years. There are now Indian gangs, particularly Punjabi gangs because of lack of oversight, and while they are small they are constantly committing crimes, selling drugs, shooting people all in the last few years. I hear gun shots nightly in my ethnically mixed neighbourhood, and we are all afraid to walk at night. Unfortunately the people arrested are mostly from continental India. Some have a political agenda that has to do more with India than Canada, so they recruit young Indo-Canadian children from good families and tell them they are being oppressed, and next thing these kids are acting as drug mules and enforcers, being told that they are fighting systemic racism. As for dancing and music, I love the cultural events, we are happy to see and even take part in Indian cultural events. IWhen I do hear people blaming India and Indians it breaks my heart too! Hopefully together we can fix this. Our governments are at odds, and I hate this -- they need to respectfully talk and work this out. You are good neighbours, good people, you are welcome here and have helped build Canada in so many positive ways. ?

As a fellow Indian, They had enough time time to study and get a good job apply for PR instead they take useless courses , work instead of study and when the wp expires they think they can do a strike and demand to extend WP!Remember its an opportunity given by Canada to gain Workexperince after study instead you guys are make them take it back by doing this stupid strike! First of all great video. As a Canadian to immigrants I have a few things to say. Most Canadians are either first generation Canadian or perhaps second generation. The major gripe I have is my parents came here, respected the culture, contributed very hard while also embracing others. Not to mention didn't break any law. Now the major issue is many immigrants (not just Indians) come here and are infesting our country with what they claim to have hated in their own country. At the end of the day the government has handled the immigration status horribly. A few bad apples do not warrant the rest. You touched on it best. Stereotypes is something all humans do. I know many Indians that truely hate other Indians. \n\nMy only advice to anyone wanting to go to a foreign land is respect the culture. Become a productive contributor, learn the language, embrace the new chapter.

Hate to break it to some of these people in the video, but if you vote for the right in your local and federal elections like Polliviere (not saying vote for the status quo), they will only further the privatization of housing markets and bring in the advisors from Florida and millionaires from California to exacerbate and worsen this and only bring xenophobia in your hearts without solving any problem...

It's easy to point the hate at the international students, but this situation didn't arise all of a sudden and was definitely not caused only by these students.\n\nProvincial govt policies made and allowed the diploma mills to recruit these students en masse at 4-5 times the fee.\nFederal govt departments issued their visas allowing them to fly here.\nWe promised these students a path to PR/Citizenship, our colleges took their money, and our businesses used their labour.\n\nThe situation is dire indeed, but it's a failure of policymakers, not these students.\n\nIt's unfair to first let people in with promises, then break those promises, and then hate the people when they're protesting.

It's kinda strange that at Ukraine in 2019 people voted for 'handsome good guy' with record breaking numbers at elections results and Canada in 2015 elected 'handome good guy'. After few years both countries HATES them! I don't say that people at both countries stupid but when you selecting 'good' guy over bad guy it's very often tha 'good guy' become even biger evil than 'bad guy' which he defeated.
