I live in Brampton. And all I can say is thanks for visiting and spreading the word on this problem. I was born in Brampton, and my mother tells me about how much it's changed. Many of my friends and family friends have moved to other neighborhoods POST mosques being put up near their homes. And let's not talk about employment and foreign "students". I was lucky to get a job last summer at a family owned small business Ice Cream store right after high school. We even got a review saying we weren't diverse enough despite us being a group of White, East Asian and Black employees lol. And many people say if your not Indian and your getting your drivers test, you go out of Brampton to do the test because you'll likely get discriminated by who is running the test. It's absolutely absurd. It sounds like tin foil hat sh*t, but if you live here like me everything comes full circle. But ofc there are good ones, but they are typically the westernized ones, who have assimilated, they play or watch hockey and have developed a Canadian accent. But the majority haven't assimilated, they are likely first generation, and they do things like stuff 15+ people in one suburban home. And just small things like staring at you in public (idk why their community stares you down), they spit on sidewalks, and they use some crazy a$$ spices when they cook. The smell carries over for blocks and you know your in deep Brampton territory when your driving and that smell of spicy curry hits you and you gotta roll up them windows lol. It's a nasty smell. This mass migration is a huge issue and needs awareness.

they should've deported all these visa student immigrants...over 5million of them and 0 went to school!!! then on top of it people are making the same money from 10 years ago while the cost of living goes up and up and up they mock us because we don't want to have children because we simply cannot afford 2-3k childcare while making 3.5k/month after taxes and rent at 3k/month while they come here have a free house, free money, pop out kids like crazy because the government will pay for the extra kids shit...highschool kids cant even get a job these days...the jobs that used to be for kids like tim hortons mcdonalds etc...are literally taken by immigrants as full blown jobs then there's not even enough jobs for the people here and employers are paying less and less and if you don't like it move along there's 100 illegal immigrants on student visas behind you waiting for that job when they should've been out of this country already!! Vancouver full of crackheads on fentanyl...Toronto full of heroin addicts walking around like zombies truck drivers buying cdl's from vending machines... icing on the cake was a crackhead doing heroin on a bench in broad daylight right on king st w. we're talking about a main street not a slow street or a side street where nobody sees shit...its fucking KING AND PETER!! I got so pissed off I tried to confront the dude but he was so out of it he couldn't even function... now we're talking about a crackhead that if he opens his eyes and he's flipping out and sees you as the cookie monster he'll fucking stab you with a needle what if it has hiv? or some other messed up disease? what if its a kid? WHAT IF IT'S YOU? what will it take for people to finally care about the issues in the community?!? crackhead immigrant? deported... cdl's? 10mil government trust fund to either run your own truck or to open a company...this would end all of these bankruptcy runaways whenever shit happens... student WORK visas? revoke them all...if they can't afford to pay for their international studies they have no business being an international student... first you study...get your degree once COMPLETED if you want to come back because you liked Canada apply from OUTSIDE Canada for a visa/pr. we don't need people working 10 years saving up to study living in a condo bedroom like 6 people in there driving up the cost of living for everyone else then fucking off when shit gets tough...

David, are you seriously thinking that you can save enough for trucking school in Toronto by working as an Uber driver? Are you serious?\n\nWhen I see people like him, I think they are crazy, for real.\n\nYou need to focus on getting your PR status and talk with an immigration lawyer or do your own research. Move to a different province if necessary.\n\nI am Ukrainian myself. I landed in Canada in 2021 and worked on a farm for almost minimum wage for two years. However, I got almost free housing and obtained my PR. \n\nThen I got a better job. There are plenty of jobs in Alberta where employers provide accommodation almost for free or completely free. The job may not be the best, but you can save money quickly. That's what I did. I worked another year for a sewer company, completed my trucking school, and now I have my Class 1. \n\nSome companies even pay for your trucking school, but you have to sign a contract for 1 or 2 years. They might not pay much, but hey, you'll get your Class 1. \n\nYou need to read more forums and talk with more people. Don’t just sit and wait for a miracle.

One thing I have noticed the most that nobody is addressing is. A lot of the people are coming are young single men. I predict an extreame increase in sexual assault. They are living in mass housing and working hard to make money but men are men and eventually have sexual needs. I know it seems like I’m talking a lil crazy but I have seen on the days off they sit outside in groups since no personal space at home. Mark my words rape etc is going to sky rocket.

So sad watching this country burn to the ground and being unable to stop it! Bringing in people to fill the labour gaps when you have all these discarded canadians sitting around now doing nothing struggling to find a job to afford how expensive everything is. Were not talking minimum wage jobs. You need to make at least $20-25/ hour just to afford a bachelor apartment! It's crazy!

For housing, something that needs to be and should be discussed is the land base. \nI know some real estate players in BC that laugh when people talk about housing and affordability, they say look at the landbase and who controls it. In BC its a crazy amount to 94% and only 5% available for ownership of the people. No option to apply and buy anymore and only lease. That is why even rural lands in BC 40 to 60 minutes outside of a teir two or three city is still thousands per acre! To the coast to coast to coast average its 88%+ controlled by governments and not the people. Do the math there and you will start to see the connection. \n\nAlso, for health-care, its not free just paid for through taxes by the governments on the people. It is broken in so many ways and most likley too big to fix kr repair now without a full ripdown and build up. \n\nMany orher things but just my initial points.

Hey there, you fine American... Just to let you understand, our system is FAR from perfect, but it's still easy access and quick service IF you don't need a rare specialist or a not so rare one). The thing is, it's ALL priority based, so if you wait, it's because someone needs your resources even MORE than you do. Sometimes, it ends up in a tragedy, but MOST times, it allows for the neediest to get it first. \nAs far as having children here, we have a NEGATIVE birthrate, so our government PAYS us to have children. My son grew up in Quebec, and they have a double everything. Double taxes (not that bad after the tax deductions and credits), but they also Double the safety net and services, compared to the rest of Canada. Not only was childbirth free, so were the pre-natal courses and everything else, AND we got around 1000$/mo in childcare benefits, until he turned 18, with full of tax credits per kid. Plus, daycare was 5$/day back then, it's 7$/day almost 20 years later.. Pretty citizen friendly. \nThings MIGHT be changing though. Our conservatives are taking their talking points from the US GOP since COVID, and they are all-in to please their Oil lobby overlords and donators out in our prairies region. The Alberta Premier is a far-right conspiracy nutcase and her new pet-project is Capitalist healthcare (among her trolley of lunacies). SAME place the far-right rednecks always come at us from. It's like they binge-watch FUX nonnews and get their ideas from the dumbest idiots there. Disgraceful Canadian MAGAt wannabes are the result of Trump polluting everything since 2016. He made shameless individuals get some traction in this new, crazy world we live in. And it infected the whole Western world. For all the amazing things the US has to offer, right now we don't even want to visit there, let alone move there. We've talked about it a lot, but nope. In Canada, generally speaking (although there are exceptions to every rule) we have no idea what political leaning our neighbors favor. Political campaigns last no more than 51 days; they do not start the day after the last election and go on for years. This way, elected officials actually do some work instead of campaigning. Right now, the politics in the US, as well as the judiciary, are literally insane. Gun violence in the US is insane, as is the attitude towards guns. It shouldn't take a shooting that affects you personally to make you care about it, and it's not just at schools. The US has had 28 mass killings, with 140 victims, in 6 months... but the problem is that no one down there cares about that enough to stop it, or even discuss ways to stop it. The politics is so sold out to corporations that what is good for the people just doesn't matter. It is capitalism run amok. Environmental protections? They are an inconvenience, and most of them were rolled back a few years ago under the presidency of He Who Must Not Be Named. So politics, elections, shootings... but wait. There's more. I have a wonderful friend in the US who has amazing health care, and yet when he got cancer, he was screwed. We do pay a health care premium up here, but it is a drop in the bucket compared to what people in the US pay for private insurance. Yes, you have the best hospitals in the world, but it doesn't matter if you can't afford to walk in the door. Now dump the intolerance -- racism, homophobia, religious zealots, misogyny (yes, I am talking women's rights, equal pay, access to health care, etc) -- throw in the crazies with guns, and now ask the question again. I absolutely know that Canada is not perfect, and that the tolerances and attitudes towards all these subjects differs from region to region, but overall we are a country that tries to respect the rights and needs of others, that has empathy for others, that wants to help others, and that is a pretty firm foundation to make us want to stay here. (please don't interpret this as all Americans and all areas of the US have no respect etc... but the predominant issues of health care, politics, religion, corporate greed, and violence, now all supported by a bat-crap crazy SCOTUS, sadly spills and taints it all. I know there are amazing, generous, kind people all over the US, but I don't know where the crazies are or where they might pop up).

I suggest google’n “ school shootings, small town America”…. article after article, when you do, says why most mass school shootings tend to happen in small towns….where nobody expects that they would have happened & how all the residents in those towns are always surprised that they happened in their town. \nI say this as somebody who once loved the idea of moving to the USA. \nMy mom was a single parent and as a result I spent a ton of time as a very young kid in the late 80s throughout the mid 90s in a small town in Oregon on my aunt and uncles dairy farm with my cousins and I absolutely loved it. Truthfully, I still love small-town America and I love the vast majority of the people I have met from small-town America. There is the friendliness and community that I find very similar to prairie farming towns in Canada. \n And as a kid, I loved the focus on high school sports in the small USA town I spent time in and how it brought the community together. It was very exciting to go to my cousins football games—stuff like that was super fun as a kid.\nAs an adult, with 2 young kids of my own now? \nYes, I would be terrified to send my children to any school in the United States, especially knowing that the vast majority of my school shootings do happen in small towns, which is a type of place in the states I would personally like to go to, if I did move. \n\nAdditionally, I will be completely bankrupt at this point given my own health issues as well as my two kids health issues and I’m just in my late 30s. \nAnd I’m not talking to super crazy health issues, but health issues nonetheless. I have asthma that has gone through patches where I’ve had to be hospitalized & I was diagnosed with stage 3 malignant melanoma when I was in my late 20s and pregnant with my 2nd. My first child was born with a congenital heart disorder that was missed through the pregnancy and until she was two, and that involved many many trips to the hospital & various specialists until they figured out what was going on (one of the symptoms was her randomly stopping breathing and going blue, which was terrifying, and could’ve been for many different reasons & it took many specialists & many hospital visits to figure it all out)\nMy son was born with a multiple protein intolerance and later received an autism diagnosis. There a decent number of hospital visits and specialists for his first couple of years of life too. \n\n I have no idea if I was in the United States how I would’ve paid for any of our health issues (let alone all three of ours) for that 5 or 6 year period where we all needed various types of regular-ish medical care. \n(because we got good medical care, thankfully, none of us have really had to see doctors any more than the average person in the last few years?)\n\nMy kids are now in elementary school, and, as a Canadian, the issue of school shootings happening anywhere….., including in small towns that seem perfectly safe……as well as the cost of healthcare for stuff that is covered by our taxes here in Canada….. are the two biggest reasons that I will think fondly of my time in small-town America, but would never consider moving there

I lived in Edmonton for three years and your mass transit is quite good. But the further you get away from city centers it thins out. Here in the ?US we need to work our mass transit. As I type this you meant self segregation. I think it happens around the globe. People want to live around people like them. There are exceptions though.\n\nI lived and worked downtown and the one thing that surprised me was the fact no one really talked to each other. Walking to work folks were wearing blinders and kept to themselves. Being from the South we say good morning, morning, hi, how ya' doing or something similar to people we run into. I asked a coworker and he said the only people that talked to you were the homeless. To which I replied, you have to be down on your luck to address passerby's? That was crazy to te!

as a Canadian of colour, I was a bit nervous about two non-visible minorities talking about racism, but you two were bang on. Good job on the video as a whole! It's very accurate. By the way, I actually haven't lived in Canada myself for about a decade now. Also - my mother was a doctor in her country, but wasn't allowed to practice medicine in Canada for almost her whole career, despite us desperately needing qualified doctors. It's just crazy. So many doctors immigrate to Canada, and yet they're not allowed to practice. They should at least allow doctors who have studied abroad to write a qualifying test to practice medicine so everyone can benefit. But most medical associations are very protective of their professional turf.

I living 12 years in Ontario …1 years Northwest Territories and 30 years in Quebec ! …Quebec is best place for living cheap on all,but you want see a doctor or take appointment with specialist for health, you wait and wait…so bad !…..Ontario to much expensive on all with food and rents over $1500.00 and you need give the first ans last month $3000.00 in Ontario ! …. N-T people so close ..help you … talk to you …easy on all with peoples …but the food so crazy expensive in Yellowknife city.

It is NOT just race. Depending on the bag or backpack you carry, you get followed, which I hate. And I'm not black. My mother also gets followed everywhere in every Macy's store. It drives me crazy. It's really annoying, because I think it's because my mom has big purses and I usually have my art backpack. \n\nWhen I'm in a different town, I get followed in Walmart all the time. If I forget my shopping bags, I will empty my backpack so I can use that to put all my items in at the end of the purchase.\n\n In Best Buy, I'm lucky to get anyone to help me at all!!! I have to hunt someone down, and most of the time, they don't know anything anyway. Target: I have a hard time finding anyone to help me as well. I haven't really done a social experiment, but sometimes I just have my shopping bags and fill them as I shop and I won't carry a purse.\n\nLocally, I don't get followed because my family and me are known in that town. We know a lot of people and my face is everywhere. I never get followed. But out of town Walmart, I get followed in certain stores. It irritates me immensely, especially since I buy a lot of make up and the make up department is cramped they way they block the end of the aisles. It makes it really hard to turn your cart around when other people are in the same aisle. Then they close the make up aisle even though they have tons of cameras all over!! \n\nOverall, I don't know WHERE these backhanded compliments are coming from. I normally hear stuff about my weight. Nothing about race ever. Nor do I ever hear others talking about race. Weight seems to be the hot topic always.\n\nI also find it weird that the one guy feels like he needs to apologize!
