I am a Cuban American totally ashamed and angry at Trump's betrayal of Canada. I stand with the Canadian People.

Canada -- Congratulations to you for not supporting Putin's puppy. Trump's damned fool supporters deserve the results of their meanness and boundless stupidity. Too bad farmers, Cubans, anti-immigrant racists, holy rollers, misogynists, and fools. You go, Trudeau. Trump cannot be trusted in any way. Born damaged. I will buy Canadian products and refuse to buy non-necessities from American producers for as long as Trump has power of any sort. Trump is working for Russia and the Republicans are helping him. I don't forget those who attack my family. TRUMP WORKS FOR RUSSIA.

What the United States ( the incoming Trump administration) needs to keep in mind is that Mexico is a sovereign nation, not Puerto Rico, Costa Rica or some other puppet Latin American country that the US controls. It is vital that the US continues to practice a good neighbor policy with Mexico because, Mexico, has the freedom to illicit and develop strong alliance(s) with countries that are considered political adversaries of the US, I cite the Cuban-United States history of 1959.

I am Cuban. I came to the US legally in 1967. My parents left their families and everything behind in order to give my sisters and me a better life in the freedom and democracy of the US. We flew out of Cuba the day after my 7th birthday. I was young but old enough to see the look on my mother’s face and my grandmother’s face to realize that they new they were never going to see each other again. We left a land ruled by an iron fisted dictator. It was the sacrifice of a lifetime for my parents to bring us kids here and now my sisters can’t understand why I don’t want to talk to them because they have voted for a man who wants to be a dictator, who disrespects women and took away their right to control their bodies(I have a college graduate daughter….what if someday she needs an abortion to save her life because the fetus did not develop right?), a man who is clearly a racist in every sense of the word, who only projects hate and division, but does everything he can for white billionaire men. This Mexican-American woman and my sisters disgust me. My sisters have betrayed my parents and the sacrifice they made.

You cannot fix stupid. Cuban-Americans have been way up on the scale.

Now that we know how you Cubans feel. I hope for generations you understand that you have cost yourself millions and billions of potential dollars in tourism for your communities in the future. That’s why the south and Texas will have to cry their own river to deal with what they have created for themselves. The future citizens of the world who look down on Trump and the type of people who vote for him don’t want to come to Florida anymore. We’ll fly all the way to Italy or Africa or the Caribbean. \nSame for other warm states. I could visit them as a wealthier American, but I simply won’t and never will now. That’s okay. \n\nNew York and liberal blue states will always be loved by the world and you all will be looked at as the trash no nothing drop outs who can’t make it in big cities because you’re just not good enough.\n\nIt’s fine to be upset about that, but giving the country over to someone who is cozy with Putin and our enemies? When Russia sits on our national grid again and threatens to turn it off if we don’t follow its demands we’ll see how in control of your country you really are.

That's rich coming from Marco Rubio a first generation American, whose parents were undocumented Cuban migrants, who also didn't have any type of \nimmigration/citizenship status when he was born here in the states.

Sorry to tell you folks but Cubans and Venezuelas are like this. Sorry Mexicans and Puerto Ricans. PRs are Americans and treated like trash.

Good! If they are not here legally, they need to go back home! As a Cuban-American I say, Trump must do what he promised! ?

This is not unusual for cuban americans. Even most hispanics look down on new immigrants when they also took advangate of the system...

Cubans are not Americans. Never

It's not just Cubans. Anyone running from Communism gets helped out. Venezuelans get the same treatment. But what younger people don't know, the U.S. failed to defend Cuba from the communists. They were, as Kennedy was, betrayed from within. It cost thousands of Cuban lives. Cuba was an American territory for centuries, while still under Spanish control. And so America has always given them assistance when fleeing the communists. There's a responsibility there.\n\nThese are the children and grandchildren of that effort. They are definitely displaying American arrogance, not Cuban. Communists aren't allowed arrogance. \n\nBut this is a human nature problem. Even the Arab has an attitude, and his history is not Cuban.\n\nBut, yes, South Florida Cubans vote for trump. They're mortified of ANYTHING that smells of socialism. And Kamala and Walz reeked of it.

Canada is a joke now, trying so hard to be a 51st state. We've got all the crime and all the tent cities to compete with the very greatest American cities. Our tiny little towns now have homeless folks and I fear the day I become homeless.\n\nWe've lost our honour. We've sold out to corporations. We're intentionally pushing people out of their homes so the rich may get richer. And our Cuban PM, Justin Castro, is alright with it. He's also happy providing immigrants with subsidized housing while born-and-bred Canadians suffer. Heck, 'everyday young people' in their 20s can't even envision owning a home unless they come from a wealthy family or their parents die and leave the family home to them. They're better off buying an RV but even those cost what a house SHOULD cost.\n\nThis is not the Canada I was born in. It's a total effing disaster. The only saving grace for me is that I brought no children into this mess and I really hope to be dead before Xmas if I don't find a job. Being as I'm a coward and my doctor won't euthanize me (I asked), I figure a hunger strike is the was to go unless I can find a high enough cliff. There's nothing in Canada to be proud of or get excited about. Nothing. No future.

An analogy would be jews from new york city moving to miami….settling their and then killing the cuban americans who have lived there for generations. The property that cuban americans own in miami, florida belongs to them! \n\nBut the jews from nyc who just moved to miami start forcing out the cubans and demand that georgia and alabama take the cuban americans. \n\nThat doesnt make any sense.\n\nThat’s not right.

Venezuela is an extreme socialist problem. They control all prices and hijack the concept of healthy business functions. This causes essential goods like water, food, and toilet paper, even fruits, are totally barren from stores. Socialism there is a nightmare and no one is living life their with decency. Read about it before you judge these people. Try to visit these countries or learn from someone who came from there before you form a solid opinion of politics folks They don’t have the ability to use much of their “freedom” to “fix” things against a rigged system already (some commenters say they need to go back and fix their countries- lots of issues with this). Read up on how South American governments make it almost impossible for their own people to make decent money. Americans are very privileged and that is an understatement. The problem is with these terrible governments and even law enforcement who often get bribed by criminals and many dirty cops in some countries down there. My husband is from South America, and we know Cubans, Brazilians, and Venezuelans who beg America to stay capitalist. That’s why America needs to stay American, and refrain from trying to be socialist.

Yes the Democrats are stopping Venezuelans and Cubans..not because they want to stop the crisis at the border....because these poor people are typically conservative and if given the right they would vote against communism/ socialism...Democrats only want migrants who will vote blue!!!\nThis has been the tactic from day 1....they dont care about Americans as long as they can hold onto power the country could burn.

Yup. The Biden admin told Venezuelans and Cubans that they are not welcomed here. Meanwhile, cartels are... I wonder why...\n\nAnd in the meantime, veterans are left without homes to allow illegal immigrants space in hotels, Americans can't afford higher education, let alone a house in many instances, and property is being bought En masse by people like Gates and companies like Blackrock...\n\nDo we even matter? Do we, the people that live here, legal immigrants, born in America, matter? Do we? CNN why don't you make that question for us?

People fleeing Socialist countries were welcomed for decades. Remember Cuban refugees? They will work harder than most Americans.

As a citizen, I am very tired, and seeing those central Americans, South Americans, Haitians, Cubans, Europeans, Asians, and Middle Easterns come to Mexico to USA. There is no way to get in the US/Canada because you need to have legitimate valid papers. Especially to Central Americans and Venezuelans, they need to follow the laws. My parents came to the USA more than 50 years ago, and with proper documents. And for people who believe and blame Mexicans for taking their jobs. Don't! I know some do not have the legal papers, BUT blame the ones who don't follow the laws!!!!

I can't believe you so-called black Dominicans Cuban Puerto Ricans Native Americans are up here evil like these heathens stop following their ways this land belongs to them stop trying to ignore you pale palms or the real illegal immigrants enough is enough
|

It’s pretty interesting— Any central or south American immigrants are seemingly welcomed in with open arms, except for Venezuelans and Cubans, because our administration knows that they are already fleeing communist countries and they know that those immigrants won’t vote blue… Some twisted stuff going on up here.

We need Cuban Americans controlling the boarder. ?
|
| 2020-05-22 | 0 |
This happens all around the world, in the USA the Cubans are well known within Hispanic community that they (Cubans) once they get the LPR (Green Card) they leave the US and go back to Cuba for more time the immigration law allows to be out of the country as a LPR (six months) meanwhile they claim SSA without have a real presence in the country, without work record, then relatives get the welfare benefits (money) and send it to Cuba this way this well educated citizens pay their expenses without working also happens with South Americans.\nThis is a real problem that it looks like the government do nothing to fix it.
