I wonder why they would like to live in the US so much? I've been there and I've met a lot of people from there, I am a tour guide from spain. I would say the US its an ok country, with good job opportunities, nice infraestructure but with a lot of problems of drug abuse, homelessness and crime Specially for a so called "developed nation". I was shocked when I heard that there are what you call school shootings there! Why don't you tackle that problem and alow it to happen? I have never seen that, in such a scale in more developed countries like switzerland, japan or south korea.

I'm a Canadian, I was born here, who knows what generation Canadian I am - my ancestors were here long before Canada was a country, later they fought for the British (one naughty son fought for the "rebels" americans and was in jail for 5 years), the monarchy granted them 100 acres in the Niagara region which was farmed by a line of my family until the 1980s when the last of that direct line sold which is tragic. blah blah - Canadian. ANYWAY - I love other people, other cultures, every immigrant that spoke in this video I welcome with open arms, would befriend, share a meal with etc. I grew up working with many people from Pakistan and India who were escaping really scary situations, worked their butts off to be part of this country, learn the language, save for a home - live a safe and happy life. Whether you're a first or 50th generation Canadian - you come here and you adapt to our wonderful way - you're a freaking Canadian. That's not happening right now. Like the video said, it's a math problem. One of my largest concerns is that now all these wonderful Canadians who have been here for a long ass time, worked their butts off to be part of the family will now be subject to violence, harassment and racist comments because this population bomb has misrepresented their intentions entirely.

As an Indian student, i would like to share with you my perspective \n1) you will never see me dancing in public, blasting music and littering \n\nI actually spend my sundays cleaning plastic from trails \n\n2) i am a full time student for 4 years funding over 90 grand for a bachelor on top of that paying my taxes and paying 1100$ a month for rent being limited to 24 hours a week I do not work outside campus I work the job the college provided to me \n\nThe problem comes up when people use the 1 year and 6 month diploma program to enter the country and work here full time \n\nThey associate themselves only with indians mainly because they cant speak the English language fluently \nTherefore they associate with the exact people they associated with back home \n\nHow will they adapt to a new country if they hang out with the same people \n\n\nI came to canada with a goal \n\nTo make Canadian friends \nLearn about Canadian culture \nStart a new life \nAnd work my ass off to get my degree \n\n\nMost people move here to make more money \n\nThey sell their land and do so \n\nPlease do not associate hard working indians who adapt and leave their past behind with these people who have come here purely to exploit the system\n\n\nTrust me I know it's hard to hear this but good Indians do exist. Hardly anyone here cares about why they’re fleeing their own country. No one wants to have to do that. They know their lives will be a struggle here adjusting but at least they aren’t there with whatever all problems they’re dealing with. If our country totally fell apart and threats of dying were happening, I wonder how these same people would feel about relocating to survive with their kids and parents.

As a *ONCE PROUD* older Canadian I would *STRONGLY URGE ALL PEOPLE* looking to immigrate to look elsewhere. Everything that was the wonderful free, secure, safe, affordable-ish, fun country I grew up in, *IS TOTALLY GONE starting in 2015* and rapidly getting frighteningly worse every year after. If my entire history, children and grandchildren were not all here I would move in a HEARTBEAT. I wonder if the reason so many in so many places believe that medical care is a problem is actually a matter of expectations. I know that in the 90s, my little town in Kansas had as many imaging machines as the entire country of Canada, but Canadians were certain they had superior medical care, as did the English. Expectations.\nEven then, if something was so bad that only a silver bullet treatment would possibly help, they still send patients to the USA because they are not equipped to help. Quiet management.\nBut basic medical, especially if you don't have much money, was traditionally better in England. I don't think Canadians had choices, but the functional reality was similarly better than in the States. Expectations.\nFor some time, Americans have had a sense that miracles are practical things that happen all the time, just pull out all the stops to keep grandma in agony another week. This has been reinforced by the civil courts. It is dangerous to be a doctor who does not recommend EVERYTHING be done to prolong life, even miserable life. Insane expectations that waste a lot of money. \nBut basic medical? Just shut up and go to work. Expectations.\nA century ago, there were no significant differences in expectations amongst developed countries because the expectations, based on the technologies of the day, were the same. Plus, there was only so much that could be done, so the total costs of everything were predictable and could be paid for publicly or privately less angst or disappointment. Expectations.\nWhen the technologies change like they have been in medicine in this century, it's good guess that so do expectations. It's also a good bet that there is a mismatch between expectations and available resources. Broken system.

I spent several wonderful years in Vancouver in the 1980s. I would have said then that it was the best country in the world to emigrate to. I can't believe what's happened to it, mostly it seems under the present government.

Hi Tyler ~ As this is a “younger” demographic…I was wondering if you could do a comparison with an older demographic - such as the who go to Florida and Arizona, as well as, a few other places, such as Palm Springs during the colder months. If they happen to be there for Christmas ~ CANUCKS (what Canadians refer to another Canadian) usually gather, close a few blocks of the neighbourhood and have Christmas dinner, then there’s Bonfire Night with fireworks in November (for the NEWFOUNDLANDERS that go to Florida), New Years celebrations is another. I could go on, as I have family that live 3/4 of the year in Canada and go to their southern homes for 3-4 max months of the winter. It would definitely be interesting on their perspective, as they can travel and interact with all demographics of society…including the police…as well as, their experiences with ** in the USA!\n\nCheers??☺??

Children getting shot is not a “touchy subject.” It’s an insane problem. And yes, there are children shot daily! With your gun culture, politics and health care system in no way would I ever move to the US. We spent most of our free time playing different RPGs over the years together. Around 9 years ago she came down with some kind of a illness and thank goodness she had healthcare through her job. The thing is though the system couldn't/wouldn't identify what was causing her decline in health. She went through all kinds of tests but became sicker and sicker in years to come. She died in October of 2021 but before she died we both wondered if the health care system was just milking her insurance and not really taking proper care of her. BTW she lived in SLC Utah. Going back to your gun culture though she felt safe living in SLC the mall she went too had a mass shooting and she also carried a pistol in her purse. ( she had a permit ) I have never known any woman in Canada who felt that she needed to carry a gun in her purse for safety.

America is a beautiful country to look at, and I'm sure there are lots of beautiful people, but the arrogance of some of them is mind blowing. I recently watched the news footage of 911, I cried all the way through that, first out of compassion and next out of frustration. When people were jumping out of those towers, George Dubya was making a statement that terrorism would not stand in America. What did he think was standing in his face. The terrorists won that day. Then when they got Bin Laden He stands up and says we got him . Big deal you got one person , when there are dozens to take his place. No mention of other countries that helped them. , they have taken full credit for every war that ever happened. They wonder why the rest of the world hates that country. The sad thing is that 911 didn't teach them a thing. They brag about how they lost 3000 people and other countries only lost a few to terrorism. How sad that they think that way. You had a great president in Obama, but you have that 2 term rule and have been going downhill ever since. And our Canada's Prime minister is certainly nothing to be proud of. Politically he's no threat to anybody, but his own country. Mostly he is an immoral threat to his own country. But that's another vent for another day. I still pray every day for the world and that includes America, but I can't imagine what it will take to break them of that arrogance.

I was once asked by a American colleague why did I not immigrated to the USA, the answer is: it was not even in the list of possible countries. In fact it is on my top list of places not to move to. \n\nYou have a good insurance through your job? That only means you have one more reason to fear losing it or stay on a particularly bad one if you don’t have anything lined up, if you have a chronic health condition, then you are straight out hostage to your employer. Even if you do have good insurance your bills may one day go beyond the maximum and you still risk bankruptcy. \n\nIf you do go bankrupt, in any civilized country you can’t go to jail for debt, in the USA you can, the country with the highest incarcerated population in the world in absolute numbers and relative too. To add salt to the injury it is a country that did not completely make slave work illegal, it is still legal if you are not a free citizen and your prison system exploit that.\n\nSo it is a country that you can become slave because you got sick.\n\nThen there are the guns… the fact you think you are exempt of school shootings says it all, if you live in a small city it would not affect you? Are you really saying mass shootings never occur in small cities?! Of the 10 deadliest school shootings in the U.S., all but one took place in a town with fewer than 75,000 residents and the vast majority of them were in cities with fewer than 50,000 people.”\n\nIt is all part of the gun culture, the absurd of making guns easily available and viewing guns as toys, a culture were people think taking your life is a proportional response to trespassing. \n\nIt is all closely tied with all the warmongering you are ok with all the taxes you pay going to your military to kill people outside your country yet you take exception in using a fraction of that to save your own citizens lives.\n\nIt is a place which put low value in the human life and well being, favour punishment instead of prevention and rehabilitation, keeps most of its population in a constant sense of despair and helplessness…\n\nIt is no wonder the USA has the highest number of psychopaths(over than 3000 versus the second next at 166), have kids going nuts and shooting others at school.\n\nIt is not a sane culture, it is not a good place to live and if you are well informed you won’t.

Wonder what would happen if people tried that in China, North Korea, Russia, Iran, and literally any other country on earth??? Oh wait..... they have borders and a leader that doesn't need a diaper!!!

Many think it's ok for them all to just be able to walk into our country. I wonder how they would react if this was happening at their border.

Desperate people do desperate things, and may take absurd risks out of fear. These people, PEOPLE, are likely terrified of what happens to them in the lawless cartel-controlled border areas... Scenes like this that demonstrate such desperation break my heart. \n\nI don't think anyone watching this would do anything different if their choice was between trying to escape exploitation, robbery, rape, and murder, and getting arrested by Americans who will, at least, respect their human rights (mostly).\n\nDo people really think that any significant proportion of these poor, dispossessed, desperate people, and their children, are criminals trying to infiltrate and take advantage of the US, rather than hoping and praying for a place to live, a decent job, basic dignity, and some safety and human rights?\n\nBut, y'know, let's be honest. This is very unscientific compared to other Marketplace investigations. i have had worse things done to me by hispanic security guard at Safeway. I am white. i refused to provide my receipt to guard who singled me out after this happened to me multiple times, see below. they detained me for 15 minutes. I called the Berkeley police. Instead of arresting them for false imprisonment Police told me I was banned from store and would be arrested if I return. I have video. Wonder if that would go viral? No, I’m white. Also accused of stealing by Asian american deli workers at Safewat in SF. I have video of that. In that case black security guard backed me up in my claim that I brought in the rye bread from outside that I asked my sandwich be made with. At another Safeway in SF the Eastern European deli manager got the black security guard to single me out to produce my receipt. I showed it to him. A few days later I saw a black man walk in that Safeway and go to the expensive cold drinks area, open a bottle and start drinking it. I alerted the store workers but they refused to ask him fir his receipt because they had not personally seen him steal it. I had nit stole anything but that did not prevent them from asking this white dude or accusing me falsely in 3 different Safeway stores.

I suggest going back too his country of origin and vote for politician's that will reform his government. It's crazy people from poorer countries keep electing socialist governments. While they inevitably must leave to Western countries. Mexico, Venezuela, Brazil, Argentina. They should all be 1st world countries. Go back and vote right. Not left. I wonder what would happen if all Canadians moved to Mexico and all Mexicans moved to Canada. Which country would be better off. It is not the land that defines a country, it is the people. Look in the mirror. Maybe a few less siesta's and more 10 hour work days?
