My parents immigrated in the early 90s and I was born in Canada. It’s very hard to relate to the new immigrants in the last 10 years because we’re so different. The families that immigrated in the 80s and 90s had to assimilate and become “Canadian” which in hindsight was for the best. I learned about my culture and language at home, but my parents, emphasized the importance of being “Canadian first” and being a part of society and “fitting in.” This wasn’t at all a bad thing. I learned to ski, skate, make ice lollies with snow and syrup, went camping, played sports… I feel embarrassed when Indians are looked at in this light, but its true. 90% of this new wave of immigrants on “student visas,” dont intend to actually obtain any sort of an education, instead they use it as a pathway for permanent residency. I know this because I have relatives who say this out loud behind closed doors. I don’t agree with any of it, and quite frankly it’s very embarrassing, but most of us first generation Indian Canadians feel very upset about how its all played out and the negative light in which our people are now viewed under. Personally, I agree they arent interested in becoming culturally Canadian, they just want to be in Canada for financial reasons. They stay in their groups, dont integrate and think somehow this will play out well. It isnt discrimination when your own people also feel this way. I have yet to meet a first gen Canadian who disagrees

If the dont leave voluntarily, then we need ice like moves, i have been living in canada for 25 years, when we applied to come here, we had to wait years where my country was in civil war. These ppl that are here as a student and temporary residents,, must understand the law and that there is a legal way to come and live here. If they force themselves to stay, then we need worse than ice for them to face.. with crimes, healthcare and employment rate down, its the best option

In the US in 2025, ICE has deported half a million who are not in the US legally, and an estimated additional 1.5 million have self-deported, in some cases with government financial incentives. So 50k deportations might represent a comparably active effort for Canada, and 18k might be creditable for a Liberal government. But the effort sounds rather bureaucratic, and focused only on rejected refugee applications. I would want to know how many of these "deportations" are entirely on paper -- "your application has been rejected, please let yourself out at your earliest convenience." They spent roughly $5k per deportee, and that would cover air fare if the deportations were done privately, but adjudication costs money, and governments find many ways to make everything much more expensive. Also, if refugee claims can be judged false or inadequate, where are the efforts to determine whether "students" are really students? By the same token, the world is a dangerous place. I figure all those living in any of the many violent inner-city neighborhoods in the US have reason to fear for their lives. Similar facts are true of many millions around the world, and most of them would be rejected by Canadian immigration because they'd be safe if they simply moved to places they can't afford.

In Canada we have foreign workers programs that allows businesses to hire foreigners and the liberal federal govt pays 1/3 of these foreigners salaries. So of course any business like retail or restaurant’s biggest overhead is labour costs so if they can save like $6.00 an hour on every employee why wouldn’t they opt in for that. I also did a very deep dive into the voters in Canada. At least 4.5 million out of the 8.5 million voted the Carney liberals got in April 2025 were immigrant votes. That’s why Carney and liberals pander to the gigantic Muslim population in Canada. Muslims, Chinese, Indians from India, Ukrainians, Filipinos they all pretty much vote liberal. There weee over 100 Muslim groups that told their Muslim community to only vote for candidates that support Gaza Muslims and Palestinians. How is that not election interference. We know the Chinese directly interfere in our elections by threatening Chinese Canadians to vote liberal or their families in China will be harmed or they will be harmed inside Canada. In June Carney said Muslim values are Canadian values. Either this clown has no idea how radical Islam is or he knows and just panders for votes. Liberal cabinet ministers Anita Anand and Melanie Joly they both openly campaigned saying they must support Palestine because they both have large Muslim populations in their respective ridings. Over half of the liberal voter base is foreign now. I started in 2019 telling the federal conservatives look the liberals are importing new liberal voters. The party needs a strategy to win over the immigrant vote. I proposed hiring a team of individuals from the Muslim community, Chinese community etc to brainstorm on how to get their message across that if your an immigrant your best to vote conservative because the liberals don’t care about them they just want their vote. Show them how they may never own a home, how their kids will be worse off than them. That buy bringing in about 2 million more immigrants a year it is causing inflation and the affordability crisis. I believe if you can show these immigrant communities the truth they may consider voting conservative. Bit of the conservatives refuse to pivot we will never see another federal conservative govt in our lifetimes. It’s not racist it’s the truth. We need a foreign registry act to kick out foreign entities that harass bully and threaten immigrants in Canada to bend the knee or else. If we have 100 Islamic groups telling their community it’s yo only vote one way charge them with election interference. We need electoral reform badly in Canada. We need to end all immigration to Canada for at least 5 years maybe even 10. We need to deport those here illegally. No more fake asylum claims. This country can still be saved but we need immigrants on board to help save it. We need to remove broadcasting licenses of mainstream media networks that lie and bash conservatives. That’s deliberate political interference. It’s time we enforce the law. No more hate speech or hate crimes against any community especially the Jews. Any sympathy I once had is gone now. Seeing them try to force their way in and that father with his baby on his shoulders participating, is too much for me. I have been watching ICE videos and while some appear quite sympathetic, you usually find out they are coyotes or have criminal charges. The media is putting videos of crying children saying “I love you Mama” and then you briefly see on the screen she was a criminal with 3 major drug charges.

What I don’t get is America isn’t against immigrants coming to America (the legal way) but people want to protest coming here illegally and are upset people are getting deported because they didn’t come the legal way. I work with a ton of guys that came to America the legal way and are all for deporting the illegals back to where they came from. The legal immigrants work hard and pay taxes and illegals don’t pay taxes they get benefits and haven’t paid their dues like the legal immigrants had to do to get in. Taking care of illegals takes away from Americans getting the help they need and we have to pay taxes. They protest and wave the Mexico flag holding signs saying “Immigrants built America” and $hit on the things America has done for them. If they built America and are so proud to be from Mexico then why don’t you build Mexico up like you say you did in America. If it’s so great why are you coming to America illegally and running from your country. If the government really wanted to send them back, the easiest way for this to happen would be to freeze any bank account/work permit, asset after visa expires. This will automatically make a lot of the illegal immigrants leave. Also need to get rid of the rule like usa where a baby is concieved and becomes canadian by default. We don't have ICE, CBSA can't even keep track of anything, this would be the best way to reduce this stupidity the government has gotten Canadians into.

You are either in the U.S. legally or illegally and if illegally then you need to leave or be removed. There are of course legally authorized exceptions, like for work so Democrats need to stop with the nobody to work in the fields BS. Anyone reading this that is planning on crossing the border. I'm gonna be frank with ya. Aside from the fact that you probably shouldn't be trying to circumvent our laws just to avoid a situation you don't like in the USA right now... you also shouldn't be trying to cross our border in what is becoming our winter season. \n\nThere are plenty who try, and many do meet a grim fate due to the elements they are just not prepared for. And even if you think you can do it, or prepare enough to do it, you still shouldn't. There isn't much you can do when you have fallen into one of the many sloughs that hide beneath the snow and ice during winter, waiting to make you a popsicle. And if you get out of that, you still have to somehow get warm again. But let's say you avoid that, what then? Well, we have these really cold biting winds that make the -30 temps feel like -40 or worse. But you came prepared, so let's say you can handle that for a bit. Well, you sweat. You will get damp, then wet, over time. Then your fancy clothing doesn't do much for you anymore. Ya dig?\n\nOh but wait, there's more. So we have this wildlife eh', and it likes to do this thing that wild life does... and it eats you. Coyotes are one such kind of wildlife. Bears are another. Both are prolific in certain areas, all the way down to the border in some cases. \n\nGranted, coyotes usually aren't a huge problem for us up here, but that's cause we know how to deal with them usually. Bears are another issue, that even we have problems with at times. You'll probably run into a black bear if you run into one. Grizzlies tend to be further north and to the west. You're gone too far somehow if you find Polar bears. \n\nThere are other critters to mention, but they're more active in the summer, like rattle snakes. (Yes, we have them)\n\nOkay, so you got past the border, and you actually somehow managed to survive the winter temps in your trek to some sort of civilization. Now you have to somehow find a place to live. This is of course assuming you decided to try to bypass all our border security of course. You could go to an embassy and declare asylum I guess. But right now, you're more likely to be given a ticket back to where you came from initially. So that's not something in the game plan for you. What then?\n\nWelcome to being homeless. The Supreme Court has held that, with only narrow exceptions, even detained criminals due to be deported must be released after six months absent a “significant likelihood of removal in the reasonably foreseeable future.” If ICE can’t get their travel documents, there’s no likelihood of removal. \n \nFortunately, Congress gave the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) a tool to force recalcitrant countries to comply. Unfortunately, the Biden-Harris administration won’t use it. Under section 243(d) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), once DHS notifies the State Department that a foreign country “denies or unreasonably delays” the return of its nationals, the secretary of state must “order consular officers in that foreign country to discontinue granting immigrant visas or nonimmigrant visas, or both,” to nationals of that country. The George W. Bush and Obama administrations used that authority sparingly, each restricting visa issuance to just one country in order to force compliance. Canada is an ice country....they can not play homeless games here...they can not place any tents or something in the side walk...they can not play ghetoo ghetto play here...and if they try to create any demonstration here or burning flags ....they will be dealt the hard way....they leave before getting frozen....

I live in Buffalo, NY on the Canadian border. For the last 50 years (my memory), we’ve never had an issue with illegal crossings. \n\nAlthough NYS is a “sanctuary state”, we are NOT a sanctuary city. Local police do work with ICE, as much as they’re allowed. There’s no free housing or benefits. Thats only NY City. \n\nThe border is in a rural area. The kind of place everyone has a shotgun of some sort. Walking up on someone in their back yard may not work out the way they think it will.

It's always been this way. The French and English were in their separate enclaves in the beginning. The Irish, Scottish and Germans then established their bases where they could more easily integrate into their new societies….The Italians and Portuguese and Greeks and other Euros set up shop in the 50's 60's and 70's…Most of them lived among their own communities with familiarity…Same for all the Asian and African, S.American, Carribean immigrants and others ever since…. They may stay a generation or two in these communities, but children of immigrants lean to living wherever suits them. It's like the evolution of immigrant societies. This is happening all over the world at this moment, and people of all races ,creeds and colours are complaining of other groups of peoples of all races, creeds and colours moving into and sometimes engulfing their communities.\nSome communities have been Gentrified…Do we shake our fists in the air and scream ' Damn those young professionals!!?' Other communities have been inundated by hordes of Seniors. It wouldn't surprise me if the blatant racists commenting on this site didn't suggest Euthanasia in such cases, or perhaps loading them onto ice-floes and tugging them out to sea.
