Make that make sense indeed. What a shitshow unreal.

Indeed. Make that make sense. You have opened a trade war and it's going to hurt your people, Mr. President. You will see protests in your country. We will do what we have to do. Your people are going to suffer and get really tired of all the 'winning'. This is on you. We have complied with all requests. You betrayed us. We won't forget that.

What's it about? It's about money. It's about a gangster family in the Whitehouse, and oligarchs in the administration, all trying to make as much money as possible. There's no other explanation possible. That's the only explanation that comes close to making any sense. Now more than ever, even if these tariffs are short-lived, Canada needs to move away from U.S. trade. This is necessary for the long term survival and prosperity of Canada. We need to make every effort to increase trade with the pacific rim, Europe and South America. There may be some short-term pain, but it has to happen. Given the events of the last few years in the U.S., Canadians have to realize that things can get even worse, and will likely never be the same. There is very little reason to believe that the ties Canada has had with the U.S. will ever be what they were, or indeed any reason to believe that that is even desirable now.

I'm Canadian; lived abroad for several years (in Europe). I returned here a few years ago and one of the things I love about Canada, which I really noticed was contrasting to Europe, is that we are not afraid to be self-critical (even extremely so), to re-visit the injustices in our past, acknowledge them, and work to try to rectify them. Also, there is a strong sense of community: most Canadians want to help improve their communities and help our fellow citizens. There are indeed some serious problems, as there are in all other countries, and we hope to overcome them and improve our society by working together. For me, one of the beautiful things about a country, what makes its society really interesting and even attractive, is our ability to constantly recognizing our mistakes and faults and try to improve upon them.

With its Sunni majority and 99.99% Muslim population among the native 22 million Malays, there's religious freedom for other faiths, though discussions about Islam require careful consideration. The strong bonds among Muslims, despite diverse races, foster a sense of unity. ❤❤\n\nMaking a living as a Muslim native English speaker in Malaysia is ideal, offering opportunities in madrasah, tahfiz for Islamic education, and other activities. Special skills are welcomed for employment, and a salary range of RM5k-10k, particularly with Canadian-based companies, is considered sufficient. Yet you can ask for more, RM15k-70k should you have reasonable qualifications. \n\nFor a comfortable living setup in Malaysia, having around CAD100k (RM350k) for a family of four can sustain a decent lifestyle for 2-3 years. The future holds great promise in various aspects, making Malaysia a compelling choice. ????

Once again the Arab world are content to use Palestine and Palestinians as pawns in their fight against Israel .. 2 mln people in Gaza strip does not make sense whether Israel has a hard or soft border .. but it of course fuels the fires of anti Israel, Anti Semite feeling throughought the Arab and indeed Moslem world. Face up to it - they have enough land and money to house all the Palestinian people 10x over in land that would become their homes. only believing in a solution where Palestinians regain their homeland just means that he supports the Israelis losing it.

My experience in Canada has been largely positive, with only minimal racial difficulties.  As a teenager, I do recall some kids making blatantly racist comments, when I was the only minority in the room; but they were silly girls, popular and full of themselves, and most of the students who heard did not laugh with them. We all knew it was wrong.  Another time I was told, by an agent, that a potential employer claimed she would not hire me because of my race.  I did not hear these words firsthand, though, so it was impossible for me to verify the truth. In the end, I let the matter alone. Other people,  I realize, have endured severe injustices; such have not been my experience, but this does not subtract from their reality.  Indeed, racism does exist, and shall remain as long as there are imbeciles wallowing in the mire of ignorance, people who cling to an absurd sense of superiority for lack of something more meaningful to hold.  As well--and it must be said!--quite likely, we all have, at some point, entertained discriminatory thoughts. 'Tis not a 'black and white' problem but a human one, and we must be mindful of it beginning with ourselves.  Canada, then, with its many inhabitants and complex history, will never be the exception. We can't expect perfection among people, here or anywhere else in the world.  Even so,  I believe there are enough fellow Canadians who strive to treat people as individuals and are happy to make friends across cultures.  My life has been and continues to be a testament to that!  Whatever our troubles, we still retain a proud heritage of diversity and progressive ethnic harmony.  We do try, and for this reason I love my country.  I am deeply patriotic and immensely proud to be part of it!
