If you think of the past , Hitler wanted to take over Europe it ended in WAR , Putin wants to take over Ukraine with a WAR , Trump Wants to take over Canada , Gaza, Greenland, Panama Canal ? Is it possible Trump wants a war

Trump is (clinically) a malignant narcissis. Hi personality needs to be fed by a constant flow of accolades from his chosen lackeys. He is so easily played by people whispering in his ear that he is being slighted (Zelensky and Trudeau, even if it is imaginary. It is ridiculous that America has allowed this to come about by their majority of incredibly ignorant voting populace. Starmer showed how to handle Trump. Grovelling and obsequious flattery. Noting else. We are dealing with a President of the USA who has a low IQ even lower EQ (think of a vindictive 10 year old). He has sly animal cunning for sure but that's it. We have 4 years of this moron, God knows what damage he can cause. The thing that motivates him ? Challenges, aspirational acts of benevolence ? I think Americans need to prepare themselves for a hostile take over by Trump, replacing democracy with dictatorship, his version of Gilead ? the loss of their freedoms and the possibility of WWIII between America aligning with Russia, China and North Korea against the rest of the world. As a Brit... I've been to Canada many times (the first time as a soldier in 1981) and of late in the likes of BC, I've fished there. Love, love, love Canada and the Canadians. I've been to America too, and I love it there also. And while I'm not always a good judge of people...I flatter myself I'm a VERY good judge of character. And oh man, have they ever got it wrong with this Trump fella. Now there's a bloke I would not like to find myself in a combat situation since he'd likely shoot me in the back and run the other way. Trump is a Russian asset and his sole goal(or the goals of his puppet masters) is to destabilize his country and the whole Western world. A couple of months ago I would call this a silly fable but right now i cannot see any other reasonable explanation. He cannot possibly be this stupid.

At this point it would be smart for Canada (as well as Mexico) to enter a defence/arms deal with China and make China a strategic ally. Possibly extend the same deal to Russia. US under Trump is effectively an unreliable ally, doubling down on catastrophic mistake/decisions instead of making swift amends.

I certainly hope it doesn’t seem as though all Americans agree with what Trump is doing because many of us certainly do not. He doesn’t understand what the word diplomacy means unfortunately. With inflation rates rising, a trade war is one of the worst possible scenarios, and I agree with the Prime Minister. There are no winners here. Everyone gets hurt.

All this in exchange for making him and his cronies filthy rich. Trump keeps dropping clues about the plan. Elon, created Doge to weaken the economy even further so that the USAs assest are devalued and he can officially the US oligarchy. He's been in talks with Putin, we've seen them together. So now this Trump Gold card, is a way in for more oligarchs from Russia specifically to sweep up the remaining industries at a fraction of what they used to be valued. Then the USA will be the western arm of Putins empire. Since he made sure to obliterate all friendly relationships the US had with the western world, the other countries won't do anything to help the US so as to avoid all out war. Trump will then walk off into the sunset as one of the richest, if not the richest, man on earth.

I believe Trump has expressed interest in annexing Canada, possibly in collaboration with Putin. I think it’s a possibility worth considering given the geopolitical landscape. Canada’s valuable resources make it a desirable target. \nMoreover, I believe Canada’s indirect involvement in the conflict with Russia puts Canada in a vulnerable position.

We support our allies. Everyone, except possibly some Republicans, know Trump and Vance work for Putin, not the people. The rest of the Republicans in government, unfortunately, don’t care.

Before the US election, any concern about Trump's radical proposals was dismissed as falling for his hyperbole or over-reaction, that Trump was just babbling and didn't actually mean half of what he said on any given day. And this was the argument from those trying to defend his campaign. now, watching him deliver on one whackadoo plan after another.. so freaking depressing. The only bright star I have found is that there are still functioning democracies around the world. Never thought I would become a refugee of a totalitarian state. Canada should do everything in its power to reduce its dependence on the USA for trade and security to protect itself from a Trump administration gone crazy. There is a chance that the current policies of the Trump administration will be carried forward by future Republican presidents given how the party is now dominated by MAGA people. We all need to consider the possibility that the USA will not be going back to normal anytime soon.
