They are definitely gaming the system. It's waaaaay too permissive. It's rough. Systems based on honor and lack of corruption get used when people used to bribery and corruption (most Indian politics, policies, taxes, etc) will use the hell out of it. That's why it works in places like Denmark, Finland, etc. They don't let just ANYONE in, it's actually quite difficult. Nothing wrong with Immigration as long as the immigrants assimilate and do so legally.

I’m a proud Indian who is now a Canadian citizen, and I’ve made a conscious effort to assimilate into Canadian culture and values. What bothers me is how this conversation has been reduced to blaming one group. The reality is that the Canadian government failed first by not properly managing immigration volumes, not enforcing document verification, and not honestly assessing whether the country could support such rapid population growth. That policy failure created pressure on housing, jobs, and social systems long before resentment followed. We also need honesty within the Indian community. Some Indians struggle to adapt being overly loud, culturally rigid, and sometimes lacking empathy for Canadian norms and shared public spaces. I studied Canadian and Indigenous history in school, and respecting that history matters. Assimilation doesn’t mean abandoning your culture, but it does mean understanding and respecting the society you chose to join. Cultural education should be expected, not optional. That said, one Indian doing something wrong does not make all Indians bad. Most Indian students and workers I know are hardworking, punctual, and serious about contributing. I’ve personally worked minimum-wage jobs for years, and what I noticed was not jobs being “taken,” but fewer Canadian youth willing to stay in or commit to these roles long-term. Indians didn’t replace Canadians, they filled vacancies that already existed. I also briefly volunteered helping the homeless, and what I saw was honestly shocking. It’s not that the government isn’t trying to help there are rehabilitation programs and support systems in place. The difficult truth is that a significant portion of the homeless population struggles with substance abuse and refuses treatment because it requires giving up drugs. Over time, homelessness itself starts to function like a culture, where benefits and assistance unintentionally enable continued substance use rather than recovery. This is an uncomfortable reality people don’t like to talk about. None of this is simple. Immigration didn’t break Canada, and neither did one community. Poor policy, weak enforcement, lack of accountability, and refusal from governments and individuals to adapt responsibly is what brought us here. Blame is easy. Honest solutions are not.

If these racist, useless Europeans go back to Europe than Indians, native Canadian, good Europeans & other immigrants can make Canada many times better and prosperous and no racism, no drug’s, no hatred, no violence, safe, secure and welcoming nation. So many Indians in Brampton because they have to live together for safety. They can avoid, racism, hatred, violence that way but still they can’t escape. Now it became favorite place for racist people, racist YouTubers etc. Indians are works in low wage jobs because they are not getting jobs according to their degrees, qualifications they have to do low wage jobs and even getting low wage jobs is very difficult. At least 12% Indians are jobless. Only some Indians help them and that’s why you find some place only indians. You can find many well educated even doctors, master degree engineers etc working in low wage jobs. You can just imagine lives of Those Indians who working with racist Canadians. Many people committed and committing suicide. This is state sponsored racism top to bottom so They are getting no help from anywhere. Canada making billions by international student and that way they getting low wage labourers still those young students getting racism, hatred like they are the problem of all problems of Canada. Racism, discrimination, hatred, violence against Indians is so normalise people don’t even hesitate. Really it’s horrible situation for Indians in Canada. Just look at the comments. Deport them all, I am deeply concerned about the impact of current immigration levels and the lack of oversight regarding work permits. In sectors like food service and retail, there is a growing concern that positions are being filled through undocumented labor or cash-under-the-table arrangements. This bypasses our tax system and makes it incredibly difficult for Canadian students to find the part-time work they rely on for tuition. We need stricter enforcement of labor laws and a more controlled approach to immigration to protect the integrity of our economy.

If you work work in any retail store you know how difficult it is with Indians . They will constantly ask you for discounts and try to bargain prices. I have to tell them multiple times that Target isn't the Bazaar, I can't just negotiate paying tax lol.

One thing to highlight with not seeing any homeless Indians in that first seen is not that Indians are causing others to be homeless - rather, they are willing to help family out to prevent homelessness! When we first came here (20+ years ago from Ethiopia), we couldn’t find work and faced homelessness. Our extended family came thru and let the 4 of us stay in a small 1 bedroom in the basement until we could get on our feet. By having a room to be safe in, we avoided a lot of the consequences of homelessness that would have made getting back on our feet exponentially difficult. What I have found shocking now to see as a Canadian of 20+ years is my non-immigrant Canadian friends who will watch quietly as their family members fall under the poverty line and towards homelessness, avoiding inviting them in to not “disrupt their peace” at home. I’ve had random family of friends stay with me in hard times to avoid them being on the street while my generally kind friends (at least to others!) did not take them in. This individualistic mindset of the West really means if you have a low point in life, you will plummet to rock bottom…. Ofc homelessness and poverty is multifaceted but a more collective approach to community would also reduce the burden!

Many very hardworking Indian immigrants willing to do difficult work. That is a virtue. I don't see why people are so resentful. Just because things changed too fast and it's scary for them. Very childish response with limited understanding. This kind of ignorance leads to prejudice.

I was made aware there are a significant number of Indian students who are applying for students visas, coming to Canada and then withdrawing from the university and flooding the workforce making it difficult for other immigrants from poorer countries to find work. .

I came as student in 2013 I am now Canadian from past 5 years. I just want to mention government is to blame for They earned so much money from international students. I studied with Ukrainian Chinese Mexican and Russian students . They weren't good in English as well But they all worked very hard and very dedicated. Initially it was difficult find job they asked young students for Canadian experience which obviously none of the students had Ircc is laziest department. Even college cares about fees only. Because if student leave the college they don't get back the fees. So they are absolutely fine with this kind of fraud. .and private college are worst among everything. Students doesn't have to attend college. The fraud is now they just gets degrees and some else studies for them. Canada is not corrupt but Canadian politicians to get votes made Canada curupted. Covid benefits fueled this . Downhill started with Covid ended.

There are more serious reasons, and the total number of temporary work permit holders as a percentage of the Canadian population is just a small fraction, while there is unemployment and crisis around the world, and the impact of Trump’s tariffs. But immigrants are seen as the black sheep and blamed for everything in all agendas of both parties. If the Canadian government wants to limit businesses from hiring temporary work permit workers, they should set a quota for them. Businesses that cannot hire Canadian workers must leave those positions vacant. All companies like Tim Hortons, Metro, Farms, fast food shops, etc. should be banned from hiring temporary permit workers, and any company that hires more than 10% of its staff must be seriously fined. Is it difficult to do? Too easy.

As a Filipino studying in Canada, it’s kind of frustrating that a certain group of international students if you know, you know is ruining the immigration system, and the blame ends up on those of us who came here legally. Some Filipinos who chose to study here have already gone back to the Philippines because life here is difficult and we see no future anymore in Canada. Others have moved to the United States to work as nurses or to Singapore instead, because we realize that the money we invested in paperwork and tuition fees is no longer worth it. Meanwhile, we see many Indian students at school who only attend classes when there’s an exam or quiz.

For context with looking for jobs, when I post a position for part time work, I'll have hundreds of applications within a day...... So sifting for good applicants is difficult.

My husband and I were both immigrants to Canada, he from S. Africa, I from the UK. I never experienced any discrimination. My busband was diagnosed with late stage bone cancer at 31 years old. The medical care was so good that he lived another 6 mostly happy years. We were supported by the Ontario Health Care system with visiting nurses, even housekeepers and received every help we could possibly need, at no cost to us. I will always be grateful for the love and support we received from Canadian friends, employers and the medical professionals. What a country! I am in Europe now but feel strongly that Canada, the EU, Britain, the wonderful Ukrainians (I know quite a few refugees) and other countries of good will should work together for a better world. We are a family and families support each other in difficult times. Americans welcome when they are ready.

What Trump is doing is collecting money from these tariffs, while at the same time bringing certain industries back to the United States. These tariffs will not be permanent but will remain for a certain period to encourage companies to relocate. Why is it so difficult for the Canadian government to stop cooperating with the CCP and end all transaction and trade of fentanyl? Strictly avoid canada now. It's a very difficult situation there. No part time or full time jobs. Not for freshers. Everywhere experienced people required and preference given to Citizens then Permanent residences then at last to persons on TR visas. Even getting PR is very difficult now because getting off 1 year Tier 0/1/2/3 working experience is very very difficult. Even indian students on PGWP are not getting tier jobs hence doing odd jobs . AVOID AVOID and don't spoil your time and money .

It is specially difficult to afford life in the coutry they are in when most of the money they are earning they send it all back to India . They live working and looking for money to make life better in India . Many Indians are not really settleling or planning a future in Canada or USA their country that they think of as home is India .

I came from Asia, I came legally. It was difficult to enter the US. I had live in the US for 5 years before getting the right to take a test to be the citizen. It is not fair that they just across the US border then get the place to live, get free mobile, and get citizen so soon. It is not fair for the Americans who have worked hard and pay tax, then money from tax paid to feed illegally. These tax money suppose to take to developed the communities in America and the care for American !

Those that have abused these privileges have made it more difficult for the genuine travellers to get visas. UK may be refusing 17% of visas however Indians were the highest number of migrants into uk year ending June 24. 86% migration into Uk was from non EU countries and Indian was the most common nationality for non-EU+ immigration for both work-related (116,000) and study-related (127,000) reasons in YE June 2024.

The passport ranking is because of how Indians behave in general. If I was a nation I would make sure I don't let too many Indians in. Everything has pesticides, hormones, and by the time fruit and vegies arrive here from the US all the nutrition have gone. A extremely high cancer rate, young and old, diabetes, depression and other mental disorders are rampant. Our children and grandchildren do not have a future so why bother going to school or work. As a Canadian born person, work should be prioritized for Canadians. I am having a difficult time getting entry level jobs because of the competition not only from Canadians, but immigrants, international students and temporary foreign workers.

They make it extremly difficult, no workers in health care, but they must have a B2 to Start with anything, who has 2 years yo pay for a course and doing nothing else before getting a Job?. Plus, there is not a clear way to Integration, after getting education, working 6 years and paying all taxes, NO answer for a citizenship aplication in 7 months, you can not even ask because the oficces are full of work. In me meanwhile you can not even changed your job. So, an effort that the country makes more and more difficult. You get a Job sure, but that is it, if you want to live in jail for many years do so. Another thing to consider is to not argue with the police. In a traffic stop, you will usually do much better if you are polite, compliant and apologetic. They can breathalize you any time they want- no probable cause required! Yes, you have rights, and if your rights are trampled on, argue it in court, not on the roadside. If you’re drunk, and they tell you to go home- do it. NEVER attempt to bribe a police officer (or other official)- EVER. \n\nWhen dealing with officials, or difficult customer situations, getting loud and argumentative will make them less likely to help you. Being humble, asking for genuine help will get you much further. Persistence is okay, but remain quiet and polite about it. “I’m sorry, but I just can’t seem to get this done. I’ve done what I thought was right, but it isn’t working. Can you please help me solve this? I’m really stuck.”
