Medicaid could be used to help our drug addicts to overcome their addiction, but Trump-GOP-Q's are trying to cut $800 million from medicaid & redirect it for tax cuts for the wealthy. We are no in good shape economically to support other countries' economies. We need companies to come back to produce in the USA and those extra charges are an incentive to start producing again in the USA. US needs fentanyl to keep the population happy, it’s inevitable. If it can’t be imported then they have to produce it within. We all know it had nothing to do with fentanyl. It is Trump's agenda. Reading all the comments I am also proud of Canada but we need to do something about Trump! The US has spent more than 409 billion since 2003 on such operations. Regardless, I feel for you Canadians and it sucks that it has come to this and I hope we keep strong relations in the future. Hopefully we can come to a fair deal soon. Mexico and China are the big players that do not do nearly enough to prevent these crimes. In fact, the Mexican government helps the cartels by not trying to stop them. China's lack of regulation on the ingredients to make fentanyl contribute to a large extent to this tragedy as well.

And my American friends, let's ask if the US has done the same? More than 800 lbs of fentanyl was seized by the CBSA crossing from the US into Canada last year and how about the illegal guns you keep smuggling into Canada?\n\nIf Canada has to do the job of your border agents, shouldn't the US need to do the job of ours? When smugglers are entering the US, it's US border agents, not Canadian or American that those smugglers meet. When crossing from the US to Canada, it's CBSA agents they meet, not US. So maybe we need to reverse that, or combine border agencies and work together??? Nah, that wouldn't work for tRump, because after all, it isn't about Fentanyl at all.

Presumably the whole point of tariffs on Canada is to raise revenues to cover the tax cuts for the oligarchs that he hopes will keep his or his family permanently in power. From that point of view it makes sense to put the tariffs on the biggest trade partners. The tax breaks the oligarchs get will allow them to buy up and control the media on his behalf. As a Marine Corps Veteran, a die hard patriot to the USA, and as a Trump Supporter; I do not support this. We shouldn't Impose tariffs on one of our closest allies. It should also be stated I'm not a fan of Trudeau at all, but I commend him for helping out with the fentanyl situation. Also I don't like how Trump is Siding with Russia. However I do understand his stance on not wanting to continue to send Money to Ukraine to keep the war going on longer, As we have sent them Billions of Dollars in the last three years. However as a US citizen I also have to state the the US has a history of supporting countries that were invaded in the past, which we have done up to this point in Ukraine. The trade deficit is because of crude oil which the US buys cheaper from Canada btw and keeps their economy running. Fentanyl and the trade deficit are no good reasons to begin a trade war with Canada. I am beginning to think that he just wants to please Russia... or he is just dumb.

As a Canadian I can tell you that Trash is right, 16,000 illegal immigrants crossed into the United States from Canada last year. But... What Trash forgot to mention is that 263,000 illegal immigrants crossed into Canada from the United States last year as well! Let's build a wall and get Mexico to pay for it. The we can keep our 16,000 illegal immigrants and You can keep your 263,000 illegal immigrants. Then Trash mentioned that fentanyl is being smuggled into the United States from Canada. This is also true... But again... Only about one half of one percent is getting into the USA from Canada. California alone is letting in 68% of all of the Fentanyl that is in your country! Why isn't Trump doing anything about that? Why isn't Trash Boredom reporting on it?

By the way, it's interesting that you're all getting your knickers in a twist over irregular migrants, most of whom wind up working and supporting you at some point (or their children do), when (apparently) you seem to believe you have the same problems with fentanyl coming from the true north. I think that drug thing might be more pressing if it's crime and chaos you're worried about...(you get less then 0.2% of your fentanyl from us, by the way and fewer then 2% of migrants to the US come from Canada. On the other hand, an estimated 70% of illegal migrants to Canada come from the US, right up there with the fentanyl, actually. Oh and we keep having to deal with all the illegal guns from you, too.

The minimum wages are only 15 bucks an hour which cannot sustain life here in this country. Please stop making false promises to foreigners to come here and be disappointed. This is not a country of milk and honey any longer but poor and enormous homelessness. Hunger, terrible health care, incredible post secondary tuitions and books. Now that president Trump has won the election he is going to place tariffs on Canadian goods and rightfully so. Russia is very interested in the Antarctica and should they or anyone invade Canada we got 3 days of ammunition. The food in AB is very bad for your health. Everything has pesticides, hormones, and by the time fruit and vegies arrive here from the US all the nutrition have gone. A extremely high cancer rate, young and old, diabetes, depression and other mental disorders are rampant. Our children and grandchildren do not have a future so why bother going to school or work. Our kids live on the streets, shelters, camping in the woods and using fentanyl and meth all kinds of dangerous drugs. The cities and small towns are full of used needles, pipes, and more paraphelia just thrown on the trails everywhere. The US will not assist Canada when a possible War 3 will occur, and we the people of Canada and the land are easy prey. If you do not believe me, just come visit RED Deer shelters and walk around on the trails, go to Vancouver but becareful because random assaults are happening every day, people living in tents, using the streets as toilets, drugs galore, even the police is unable to act nor arrest criminal activities caused by desperate people who need to survive. Canada's economy is about to collapse and fall into a recession. We have too many people coming in our country without checking their back ground and many criminals and terrorist groups are entering declaring refugee status whether it is true or not, we do not know. The people of Canada who work and pay highest taxes are used to house these newcomers and education, jobs, food and money. Our government take better care of these illegal people than their own people especially our youth. So please let us not pretend Canada is a land of opportunity and great. We have to vote for the right leader who will have a very difficult time and challenges to overcome if at all possible and make Canada Great Again!

Please keep mentioning that the Head of the San Jose police union was shipping fentanyl around the US using her union credit card. She was shipping the goods from China and India. We very likely have a corrupt police issue in other places. Nobody knows because they investigate themselves.

Vancouver is the homeless capital but Toronto is catching up. At least the Chinese Fentanyl gangs are keeping the homeless happy while making a lot of money for themselves at the same time.

I am a Canadian and I have seen the sharp decline of Canada over the past decade which makes me very sad. According to many 'experts' they paint a dire picture of the nations future as the rate of inflation spirals out of control and we are buried beneath a mountain of debt. On the ground level, homelessness is an epidemic that the powers that should not be seem to want to sweep under the rug, while they race bait and spout off about woke ideology. They are more worried about transgender rights and castrating children while with anyone with eyes to see are witnessing the very breakdown of their society around them, people are dying in the streets from fentanyl overdose. My wife volunteered at our old church which catored to the homeless and I have known many that are no longer with us, nobody wants to acknowledge it because they do not want to face the fact that they are fellow human beings. In the end no one is better than any one else, it is all vanity.?\nIt would seem like we are run by lunatics with severe cognitive dissonance by the fact that we have mass immigration while are own \npopulation is suffering, I admit that mental health and addictions are potent variables that constitute the crisis, I am not niave to those facts. I myself have had long term Sobriety. But it is odd that only a decade ago, homelessness /addiction were problems confined to major cities like Vancouver and Toronto, and now we have tent cities in almost every town with a population of more than 20 thousand people.
