Thanks for bringing light to this huge problem in canada. No joke indians have quickly become like 30% of the workforce here. They take over businesses and refuse to hire non Punjab people because they won't fit in the workplace culture. They've been taking the excessive handouts from the Canadian government and are slowly buying up tons of real estate. Its everywhere in canada. Brampton is just ground zero. What's it like? We just got a new Walmart down the street. They took a staff picture and it was 80% indian people. Hardly any locals got jobs there instead its mostly "new citizens" who have lived here less than a year or two. Every day there's more of them. And because of our liberal government and tax breaks and all sorts of racist allowances these people have got, they all have money and houses and new cars when they were dirt poor in India like 3 years ago. They get interest free loans from banks, they get daily per diems and housing as soon as they get here. Keep in mind tent cities are growing rapidly in Canada. And our government is spending HUGE amounts of our tax dollars to subsidize this takeover. And try living here and renting. Due to this influx, a bungalow that was 1500 a month 10 years ago, is now 4500 a month and youre renting off an Indian person. Word to the wise tho, dont even bring up the tow truck businesses. They'll shoot you And last but not least our retarded government just passed a birthright citizen law for them. So now if you come here from India even if only for a couple years, ALL subsequent offspring of yours can immediately get citizenship here no question asked. We are so fucked

Here's my life in canada. denied work. Denied education. both grandmothers, and grandfathers and before that mothers and fathers, defended and fought in the great wars, not by choice proxy and came to canada post ww1 to get away from euro trouble, only for second great war, and most were against forced to join because of direct proxy or relatives being killed. Less than two months this is chaotic. Tdumps Presidency is going to be 4 yrs of chaos. If you think his first term was chaotic in the way his administration handled the Covid-19 epidemic even when he initiated increase on tariffs with imports on aluminum and Steel. Canada answered. We are less than two months into DJT's term, and I have to say it's turning out much worse than I expected (and I thought it would be pretty bad). It is terribly depressing to see the country fail while roughly half of it's people cheer it on. We're seeing the fall of the US in real-time, and I'm not sure how we come back from this. I'm exhausted, and we're just getting started.

Trudeau said it - it’s all because of one guy. Throw Trump and all of his toadies out and let’s get back to business together. He is dismantling your country and these tariffs are simply one mechanism that he’s using to ruin the US. The US is no longer in the position of world leadership and respect and it took Trump less than two months to do that. Your government is failing you and hurting you. Throw them out now.

Thank you for summarizing these key changes! Many problems are actually the Canadian immigration system not learning from the mistakes of the US system and now it’s suffering the same consequences. If Canada cuts down on those selected immigrations but still takes in refugees, it’s only going to make anti-immigrant sentiment worse. Selected immigrants are allowed into Canada to help alleviate Canadian issues…or at least people who come through Express Entry are less likely to become a burden. On the other hand, refugees, given their unfortunate circumstances, really need to rely on a lot of social services and resources to help them resettle. The US has eliminated pretty much all non-humanitarian immigration that’s why immigrants are so demonized there. Americans only feel the drags of refugees and asylum seekers (even though ethically we need to protect them) and there is no selected immigration to balance that out. Yet this round of Canadian policy change is heading exactly that direction.\n\nIt used to be international students in Canada are not paying a lot more tuition than Canadian students. But Canadian universities saw how much money universities in the US are making so they asked the federal government to change the policy to enable them to charge international students several times the regular tuition (whereas in countries like France, international students actually pay less than citizens). So now Canadian universities rely too much on international students to operate and it becomes an exploitative relationship even before students step foot on the campus. The new PGWP eligibility is awful because students can make contributions in every field. It might (and that's a big if) address the pressing problems, but it won't help Canada grow.\n\nI thought the new language requirement was interesting. Some Canadians who immigrated decades ago when the bar was really low still speak English poorly and now they are saying people can’t come to Canada because their language skills are not sufficient. Another point about language is if you apply through Express Entry now, even if you scored the highest language score, given how competitive the pool is, you still won’t get selected. So it’s a given that you need to be fluent in one of the languages at least to get an invitation. Express Entry also selects only the top people, I saw the head of The Institute for Canadian Citizenship in interviews talking about those top-tier people only expect the best treatment/lifestyle when they come to Canada. That's why many of them leave after seeing these Canadian problems play out. But I believe a good Canadian life is not about living in a high rise in Vancouver and Toronto, driving an expensive car, or buying luxury items...it's about the communities, nature and middle-class comfort. So the system is giving PRs to the wrong kind of people (just like mismatched people when hiring that don't align with company values).\n\nThis brings me to the last frustrating issue. There were so many people who attended “fake” universities and bought “fake” jobs to earn points to get an Express Entry invitation. And it's clear that the government wasn't proactively catching these abuses. They are taking up spots from those who try to earn the points fair and square. If I understand correctly, Canada doesn’t send these people away if they are found out (since some of them were scammed). So they still take up immigration quotas.\n\nI have wanted to move to Canada for a long time. I have visited Canada many times, hiking trails through the coastline and fjords, climbing mountains and glaciers. I lived in Montreal for two months to improve my French and I was told by my homestay family that I was the first student they had who didn’t complain about the cold (I wish the winter never ends so I can skate or xc ski in the parks year-round). I have probably seen more Canada than many Canadians and I love every bit of it. But the opportunity for me to even get a shot to move there is pretty much nonexistent now. There are only two things about living in Germany I could never adapt to. The more or less atrocious weather during seven months of the year and the crazy tax burden. I still feel robbed looking at the huge difference between salary stated in my work contract and the actual take-home pay. On top of that, consumer and energy prices are bloated due to abusively high indirect taxes. It's all the worse considering that in neighbouring Switzerland the tax situation is the exact opposite, without compromising government service quality in any way.

Just lower pension money for retired people, and other types of assistential money, and you'll need less workers (a reasonable amount of them). We're tired of watching how we pay half of our salary for taxes that go to the German colleague that gets pregnant every two years to enjoy paid motherhood, or the other colleague that gets sick every couple of months, or the government paying for the Deutschland ticket to people that don't really need it

I am a Serbian and Canadian living in Canada for the last 24 years. I love \nthis country I respect this country but my God is so much different than it used to be or it is me. This summer I went with my kids and wife to 6 different countries in Europe Eastern Europe and Central and have seen 2 alcoholic then I come to Canada I see thousands of drug addicts on the street. everything is overpriced ppl do not enjoy in here. When I came in 2000 Serbian economy was low due to the war now it is better and Canadian economy is worse so the gap is very small. you need to make 6000$ to live just ok and I do live well but there is always but. I call it a pressure cooker, I wish all Canadian travel abroad a bit just to realize that they were lied too and that there's a lot of bs. I can give you an example: Condo in Belgrade same size property tax is 200$ per year condo in Qc Gatineau 2500$ plus condo fees 400$ per month basically 7000$ wasted for what? no dr wholes on the street broken system. It will be for sale. I agree paying taxes on my house where I live but for rental property when you deduct all the expenses you invested so much money without any profit. the one that works and the one that scams the system make the same amount of money and we live approx the same. something is wrong there. I will live for many years to come but definitely not spending my whole life here due to many circumstances and expenses. Family values are getting killed and I have issues with that. The more I was pushed to change the more I went to church and believed in old fashioned traditional values. Im in BC . I got rid of the tenants cuz they would be late. Filled 15 non payment / late payment notices with the tenancy branch and delivered to tenant. The tenancy branch did absolutely NOTHING. 8 months later and loosing $36, 000 I made the decision to never rent ever. I got Airbnb license and am glad I made the right choice. I make the same rental income with no headache, and less use of the house. My two friends who had rental properties just stopped renting and sold them and put their monies into other businesses. Id say if you are renting, sell them and do something else cuz its a no win situation in canada. These politicions know there are more renters to give them the votes.

If adjusted for inflation that would be closer to 30%. My salary was ok in 2018 but became stagnant. Both incomes combined barely make us through the month. The fact that I have to work two weeks in a month just to pay rent is very depressing. Having lived in Canada for almost 6 years I seriously regret decision to move here.

Who in the hell would now want to immigrate to Canada ? Outrageous housing costs which consume most of your income . One has to work at least two to three jobs just to try to keep from completely drowning economically . A healthcare system which is on life support . It is next to impossible to get a doctor . Emergency waits times at hospitals can range from 4 to 24 hours . Traffic from hell in all of the major cities .... particularly Toronto , Montreal and Vancouver . The crushing cost of living . A political leader who is a complete fool who has basically destroyed the country in just 8 years . As if all of this wasn't bad enough ...... 5 months of winter from hell . Living in Canada is now an extreme struggle in every way imaginable . One will always struggle . One will always work like a dog . One will very likely fall into extreme debt in Canada just to survive . One has to pay outrageous taxes on their income leaving them with about 50% of what they actually earn after they have paid all of the combined taxes on everything that they buy or services that they use . Forget about ever being able to save money . Incomes are about about 35% less than other advanced than those in other advanced countries for the same skilled job . One will never own a home . One will never be able to start a family . One will always freeze in the winter . Life in Canada has become an absolute hell . The Canadian dream is as dead as dead can be . It is no longer a country where one can earn a decent living , own a home and live a good life . I'll lay it out for you: Me: typical middle of the road liberal oriented Canadian. Non white, immigrant (I wasnt born here) I worked in a Refugee housing for over 4 years in Ontario. Most were not war areas refugees (Yes I know there are other types of refugees). I only encountered few refugees from war areas. ONLY 1 person from Iraq, about 2 families were from Afghanistan, 1 couple from Pakistan(I doubt they were real refugees they spoke fluent English, maybe political refugee), and a most from African countries. Its too far for real refugees to get here. Its Easier for them to go to other countries nearby or Europe. MOST SEEM TO BE ECONOMIC REFUGEES. Most were coming from Africa. Some are coming from Latin America, which shouldn't be happening. Once they showed up at our doorstep and we processed them into the system, they were immediately in the same class as a Canadian resident homeless person if they were making a refugee claim. We get money to house and feed them (from the government), and they are given a stipend for basics from the government processed through the Social Assistance/ Welfare system (they get less than a resident/citizen I think.). They then have to get their case processed by the refugee board, and most seem to get in. I've only heard of few getting sent back. One person I know at our facility, was given a subsided social housing apartment after a year in our facility. So they went straight from a shelter to a government/city owned subsidized apartment. (Didn't seem like it was a issue for the housing worker...they didn't report it (if they were not the ones that helped the person to get it), they were white, the housed person was Latin. This refugee claimant, and then month or two new Canadian resident person was given an apartment in a prime area of the city, instead of the 1000's of Canadians, those who came before them, and born Canadian citizens on an extremely long waiting list. How this was allowed to happen I don't know. The person was probably sucking on someone's straw. I'm just trying to think the barriers these people have to go through to get a job here. We are far removed from the time of the 80's and 90's., and housing and jobs are so hard to get. Lol the "Canadian government asks them to repay the traveling cost to Canada if they are sent back"....I wonder how much the government recoups?.....more like 0 probably. What a bunch of crap.
