While they may have lowered student Visas and temporary worker permits, VISITOR PERMITS are probably being given out in the millions …. ONCE these ‘visitors come’ - they are NEVER followed up to ensure they go home. It is these people applying for refugee status or asylum .. in the millions …. Liberals want this uncontrolled immigration - with no checks and balances .. because these are the millions of new votes they are getting. Who can check on VISITOR visas and the numbers coming in and going home? I think this is the gap …????

When I was a small child, I had planned to go to European and American countries based on my knowledge and good values and not for money because I thought that people with good education and rules followed lived there. Now I am 18 and it is very sad to see that people who lack basic manners are going there in exchange of money, yes it is true that you cannot bring knowledge and good values in yourself with money, European people and American people should also think about this and should ask questions to their government that why are they bringing these people to get profit in the vote bank or are they very educated people, but looking at the condition it is not true that Their parents may have also taught them basic manners, many Indians do not have the flexibility to change their habits after seeing the country, but they would have had problems with people coming to their country from outside who did not live in the Indian culture, but if they did not live with outsiders and were forbidden to do that, then that would be racism! One should follow whatever religion one wants but see again it should change with the new environment, even in nature when a species migrates to a new place it follows the rules and practices it uses, it does not mean that its genetics change completely.

If you go to Canada, you will mostly see Punjabi people there. I don’t know why Punjabi people have become so obsessed with Canada. They mostly refer to going to Canada. They don’t even work properly or look for jobs in India; they just prefer going to Canada. I don’t know what kind of jobs they get there. Some of them go there depending on relatives, and some go illegally, which is completely wrong. Because I want to say one true thing about Indian people: there is very little civic sense in India. Yes, if they belong to the upper class, then they may have some civic sense, but in the lower and middle class, civic sense is very low. That’s why wherever they go, they behave the same way they think, without caring that they are in another country. They don’t care about respecting that country or adjusting to its culture. Instead, they try to impose their own culture everywhere. They want to create their own space everywhere and put their own things everywhere. But if foreigners come to India and live here permanently, they just do their work and live normally. Even if they do something publicly to promote their own culture, Indians will immediately go against them. But I haven’t seen the same reaction outside. People there should also oppose this; otherwise, Indians will really spread everywhere in the same way.

Indian and Japanese here, I know this may come off as a little racist to my own culture, but Indian people are the most insufferable people on the planet. I don’t live in Brampton I’m in Australia but the majority of the Punjabi people here are so insufferable I can’t take it. (I’m Bengali fyi) it’s not just Punjabi people tho a lot of other dialects are like that, even where I’m from. But yeah, don’t attack me it’s just my opinion.

I love Punjabi people, they are high class and they surprise me when they tell me they were farmers before coming to canada because I don't get that rugged vibe from them. That guy at 2:50 was purhaps the most honest 'white' guy you will meet. The fact is Indians didn't take over, the upper class just decided to move north to Bolton or more west to the Halton area. Over time enough Indians replaced them to basically take over important roles like police officers and political positions. Eventually just like East Asians have Markham and parts of Scarborough, the south Asians had a high enough population for Brampton to be considered their home turf. Eventually though it was the student visas that drove Canadians crazy. Millions of students in record time and I believe there was an additional 4 million who came on temporary work visas during covid, eventually Canadians got annoyed. Personally I don't see any problem with it as long as we keep building apartments and homes for the new immigrants to rent and live it doesn't bother me. I would like to see three times more immigration especially from Europe as this country is super underpopulated and we need people to open factories and build companies that will strengthen Canada as a whole and employ our own not just send money back to their countries. So its not an invasion we just need come to a place of understanding and learn to work together. I will finish with the one negative; there truly is a massive lack of assimilation and this may prove to be more of a problem than we realize but I won't go into it. I’m South African Indian from Durban, and I spent three months in Vancouver for work. Honestly, I wouldn’t visit Canada again. The cold was unbearable for me, and I found the country dull and boring. Coming from Durban, where there’s warmth, energy, culture, and life everywhere, Canada just didn’t feel like my kind of place. Some people may enjoy the quiet and structure, but it’s not for everyone—and it definitely wasn’t for me. Three months was more than enough to know it’s not my vibe.

This turned out to be scam, students did not come to study and go back, it was a backdoor for PR. As an Indian living in India, I’d say it was your country’s government’s problem and mistake, similar to what the UK is doing now. Aside from government or policies, Indians immigrating to Canada is something that dates back to the British era, when Britain sent a group of Indians, specifically Sikhs, for security or labor work in Canada. This started the trend of Sikhs (turban-wearing ones) moving there. In modern times, the West was richer in terms of education and infra compared to Asia, which attracted many normal students and families immigrants also. Canada and America were built by immigrants, but now things are saturated, which I understand, and that’s where the resentment comes from. The majority Sikh state ( punjab) in India is still behind in development and job wise cooperation, and the historical pattern from the British era of moving to Canada for a better life has become a norm for many young people there. The close, collaborative nature of Sikhs—like a cousin in Canada inviting another cousin from India to come over, open a shop, work together, or share housing—is another reason many don’t hesitate to immigrate. These are some of the reasons behind mass immigration from India. Now, with saturation, the resentment toward immigration has grown. India itself faces issues with immigrants who live off our taxes, take rights meant for native children, and abuse policies, laws, or the environment. At least Canada has better-off immigrants—educated and contributing to the economy. While some may depend on taxes, most are hardworking and self-sufficient; otherwise, Canada’s economy would have collapsed by now. In end i can understand the hatred but you guys should stop this yourselves - not hunting them but prevent more.

It's not a tragedy. Stop playing this like we are responsible for the well-being of the third world. If they have no path to permanent residency then they go home. I can tell you that there is something significant that this country is not addressing: "fake degrees" coming out of India, especially in the field of Health Sciences and Engineering. I'm a recruiter at one of the largest recruiting agencies in Ontario (Toronto), but I've been noticing something unusual about the degrees coming out of India. This is something that the government needs to address. I guarantee you, if they can do a thorough investigation, something may come out, "something not good".

To be here as a citizen today, I had to pay CAD$35.000 for a two years program in Toronto. But to get the study visa I had to prove a lot of things, including money, proof that I had paid the college (at least 1st year), English, a Bachelor degree (education), a clear criminal history, and what attach me to my country. I had to study hard, and only after graduation I could have 3y work permit. By working in Canada I could get more point to become a permanent resident. After 2y having my PR, I could get the citizenship, but I had to prove I pay taxes, clear criminal history, and other things that show I would be a good citizen. So, I worked (and still work) hard, I am currently in two jobs and at school taking my masters, I respect the laws, I respect the culture (I never tried to impose mine), and I pay over CAD$10.000 in taxes per year on my income. That said, I feel as a slap on my face when fraudulent and dishonest people are able to be here cheating the system in any way. Some people may say I am an immigrant against immigration. NO, I am in favor of people taking the right path to immigrate, and make real contributions for this country, not coming to be scammers and criminals.

As a Brampton raised kid, I lived there from 97' till about 2023, I'm caribbean and we have a large indian/muslim/hindu population too on our island. (Trinidad) and the issue with Brampton is: Indian people will gladly intergrade, but Canadian borns won't welcome it. Walk with me- I'll use food for an example. Every other grocery store is middle eastern/asian/african in Brampton and its becomes harder finding more western style food. I love international food, I cook it often but if you're used to burgers and pizza and only know how to make spaghetti it feels like a 'take over' These people want what they want and even though all these places are free for you to also enjoy they don't like it cause it's too 'foreign' to them. It doesn't mean there isnt still a No Frills or a Walmart or Metro, but because the african and halal store are closer and more frequent it seems like more of a convenience to others and not to you. When people say we're multi-cultural, they mean 'yeah he's brown or black but he keeps it to himself' They aren't going to go to that Sikh temple giving free food, and only go to the church at the beginning even though they're welcome to both. It's the same for Diwali and other things, white people dont care to be interested in those things, and just wonder why they get to have it at all. I do agree with that indian lady at the beginning though, with lax immigration you come in feeling like you don't need to do anything to assimilate. They're doing themselves a disservice by only helping themselves. I hate stereotypes being perpetuated onto people but like that Pakistani guy said too, you live in a bubble and you don't pay attention to that. You can go days without speaking english to someone. You can't immigrate somewhere and shut out everyone already there. I get you may not feel welcome by the white people like the ones in the beginning and so you dont mess with them, and its easy not to. But there needs to be openness with helping everyone benefit from multi-culturalism and not just some of us. There are issues with immigrants not wanting to go outside their bubble and for canadians not to want to either, It'll be hard to (with the current issues we're facing as a country) to actually blend together more.

Family values were strong, and who your family was often determined much of your future. Now, Canadian culture is changing once again. The arrival of Indian immigrants will inevitably influence Canadian culture, whether people like it or not. Some may try to resist—perhaps through a kind of “Trumpism”—but that will only provide temporary comfort. In the long run, Canadian culture will continue to evolve with the influx of newcomers. Today it is Indians; in the coming decades, it may be another nationality. The key point is to embrace change—and perhaps change ourselves in the process. For example, the rise in homelessness is tied more to social and economic issues than to immigration. Family structures among white Canadians are becoming less central in people’s lives, and religion is also losing influence. Parenting values are often shaped by fleeting psychology trends and “helicopter parenting,” leaving many children without the strong foundation they need. Perhaps there is something to learn from Indian immigrants about building families, fostering strong connections, and strengthening community ties. Thank you.

..most of the people "interviewed" are white - they may have born in Canada, their parents & grandparents may have been born in Canada OR their parents, grandparents or they themselves coming from countries where the majority of the population is caucasian e.g. Portugal, Poland - with similar religious backgrounds. Why did they leave Poland, Portugal, Greece or Italy? Why are they "more acceptable" as immigrants, than others? I am supportive of immigration, but I believe there should be a cap of no more than 1-2.5% annually. A significant number of migrants moving to Canada from the same region or country could cause issues, as this can lead to the formation of "mini-bubble" societies within Canada. For instance, one new citizen can legally bring both of their parents and their spouse, which is fair. What's it about? It's about money. It's about a gangster family in the Whitehouse, and oligarchs in the administration, all trying to make as much money as possible. There's no other explanation possible. That's the only explanation that comes close to making any sense. Now more than ever, even if these tariffs are short-lived, Canada needs to move away from U.S. trade. This is necessary for the long term survival and prosperity of Canada. We need to make every effort to increase trade with the pacific rim, Europe and South America. There may be some short-term pain, but it has to happen. Given the events of the last few years in the U.S., Canadians have to realize that things can get even worse, and will likely never be the same. There is very little reason to believe that the ties Canada has had with the U.S. will ever be what they were, or indeed any reason to believe that that is even desirable now.

The US isn't launching a trade war against anyone. We are closing up shop and are getting ready to take care of our own. There is a massive difference. We cannot be expected to continue supporting other countries economies and defense obligations, when we have 2 generations of working class citizens unable to afford a home or have children.
