Carney put an incompetent in this Immigration role. He wants millions of new immigrants to come to Canada. While they may have lowered student Visas and temporary worker permits, VISITOR PERMITS are probably being given out in the millions …. ONCE these ‘visitors come’ - they are NEVER followed up to ensure they go home. It is these people applying for refugee status or asylum .. in the millions …. Liberals want this uncontrolled immigration - with no checks and balances .. because these are the millions of new votes they are getting. Who can check on VISITOR visas and the numbers coming in and going home? I think this is the gap …????

More BS from a supposedly neutral balanced media outlet. At least when the CBC have a panel they have one from each party. Here are the facts. The Honourable Lena Metlege Diab is the current Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship. She was appointed to the role in May 2025 by Prime Minister Mark Carney following the April 2025 federal election. Her current activity is defined by a shift toward more restrictive and "talent-focused" policies. Here is the technical breakdown of her recent initiatives: 1. 2026 Express Entry Overhaul On February 18, 2026, Diab announced significant adjustments to the Express Entry system. The primary objective is to transition from broad intake to "sustainable levels" while addressing specific labor gaps. * New Categories: Streams were added for researchers, senior managers, transport occupations (pilots/mechanics), and foreign military personnel recruited by the Canadian Armed Forces. * Medical Priority: A specific category was introduced for foreign medical doctors already possessing Canadian work experience. * Tightened Requirements: She doubled the category-specific work experience requirement from 6 months to 12 months. This move is designed to narrow the candidate pool and prioritize those with deeper integration into the Canadian labor market. 2. Legislative Reform (Bill C-12) Diab is currently championing a major immigration and border security bill (C-12), which is moving through its third reading in the Senate as of February 26, 2026. * Executive Power: The bill grants the Governor in Council (acting on cabinet advice) broad authority to vary, cancel, or suspend immigration documents and applications in the "public interest." * Asylum Restrictions: Diab has been vocal about curbing what she terms "fraudulent" claims. The legislation proposes making anyone who has been in Canada for over a year ineligible to claim asylum, and it restricts claims from those entering via land borders outside official ports of entry. 3. Shift in Strategy The Minister’s rhetoric marks a pivot from previous Liberal administrations. Her current messaging focuses on "taking back control" of immigration levels. While she continues to promote the recruitment of "the best and brightest," she has explicitly stated the government's goal is to reduce the total annual number of both permanent and temporary residents. Summary Table | Focus Area | Recent Action | |---|---| | Express Entry | Increased experience threshold to 12 months; added military/researcher streams. | | Asylum Policy | Supporting Bill C-12 to restrict claims made after 1 year of residency. | | Staffing | Recently appointed Isaac MacDonald (former P.E.I. Liberal executive) as Director of Parliamentary Affairs.

As a Canada who speaks both French and English and who follows politics quite closely, I have to say that the headline and some of the reporting here is quite misleading. A reduction in immigration has broad support across Canada. I wouldn't say that notion is dividing the country in any significant way. You do have certain industry groups that disagree, but among the population these reductions have broad support. This is a historic change in public opinion in Canada, but it has been driven by the unprecedented increase in immigration under the last term of the Trudeau government. To put this in context, non-permanent residents in Canada numbered around 1.5 million on Q3 2023, but by Q3 2025, that number sat a just over 3 million. The previous government increased immigration targets by 3 or 4 times over what they had been for years, which caused a number of economic issues. Essentially, the volume was simply too high for the economy and society to support. This was unfair to both Canadians and new comers, many of which could not find employment or afford a decent place to live. The changes being suggested are largely bringing Canada back to what the targets were for over a decade before, though a bit lower to account for the sudden surge. Canada remains one of the most pro-immigration countries in the world. However, and this is where I think DW's reporting is misleading, there is a distinction to be made between policies at the federal level and policies at the provincial level. Immigration, per our constitution, is a federal matter, however, Quebec in particular is distinct from other provinces. I don't mean only culturally and linguistically, but also in the powers that have been devolved to it by the federal government. On the question of immigration, Quebec has more powers and more ability to set its immigration targets and programs than any of the other 9 provinces. The particular program discussed here, the Quebec Experience Program (PEQ), is a particular immigration stream that only existed in Quebec. So what is happening with that program cannot be labeled as a whole-of-Canada thing. Where the changes to the PEQ are controversial, unlike the general changes at the federal level, is that people who immigrated under that specific program were promised certain things. There was a multi-year time line to Permanent Residency and then Citizenship. Many of those people have been in Quebec for 5-8 years already. However, the changes made to the program were done in such a way where people who many years into the program, had gotten an education, started a career, had children, ect. are now being told they can't continue and must leave Canada. There are even stories of people who married Canadians, now have children, and the one parent who was under this program now faces the possibility of having to leave Canada and be separated from their family. All through no fault of their own. That is what many people see as unfair, and I agree, however limiting future applications under the program, to bring in less people, that is not controversial. Canada has no responsibility to bring in people who are not already in Canada, but Canada does have some responsibility towards people who uprooted their lives to move to Canada and built new lives here based on promises and representations made to them by the Canadian and Quebecois governments. We should no simply kick those people out of the country.

I’m grew up in Brampton, born here to immigrant parents who came in the 90s. The new generation of immigrants have really created a bad image for Indians here, I will encounter all kinds of racism online or in real life, and the hatred is real. I wish it wasn’t so, but Brampton and for that matter the GTA is not equipped to handle these many people. Then you get the sheer number of illegal rooming houses, fraud, general disrespect for the norms and traditions of Canada from the newer generations of immigrants it just really paints a bad picture of Indian people. I hope things can change and both Indians and Canadians can live together and foster mutual respect for each other, but we are a long ways away

im a canadian born citizen, my ancestors immigrated here from ireland in massive numbers and the locals hated their guts because they took all the low paying jobs. these indians are no different from them. i support anyones choice to make a better life for them and their family its what our country is built on. come pay taxes, accept your new culture and dont break the law and you are welcome.

3 million Indians since 2014 - 2021. The figure is likely accurate, if not low, because it focuses on new arrivals (both permanent and temporary) rather than just PRs. The real number is quite literally not able to be found, as the government is very corrupt and hides the data officially. The upcoming census 2026 is going to be DISGUSTING. 2021 and beyond the rate of forced migration was south asians taking up 60 percent of the immigrants, how is that reasonable, nor racist, and how can we even vet these people properly to have quality assimilants?

The last generation of Sikhs were good. Worked hard. Assimilated into the Canadian culture. The new ones were a bum rush by Trudeau to keep the GDP numbers up while he robbed the country. I have Sikh friends who feel the same way. They feel like the new “students” and business subsidy abusers are ruining everything the old immigrants built. The new ones are ruining the reputation of the ones who have slowly integrated into the Canadian way of life. My Sikh friends are embarrassed by the actions of the wave of people coming in now… they even want them out

Tim Uppal, as a Member of Parliament and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Citizenship, Immigration, and Multiculturalism in 2010, announced a new initiative called the Student Partners Program (SPP) that resulted in a significant increase in the approval rate of visas for students from India. This turned out to be scam, students did not come to study and go back, it was a backdoor for PR. In addition, a number of Indian students on student visas have committed crimes such as extortion, drug trafficking and killed people on highways as unqualified truck drivers. Lastly, they majority of them lack of consideration for others may it be economically or socially.

Only 18,000 deported out of 5 million illegals? That is a joke. Deportations cost money because the government is way too dumb. You don't need to chase the illegals on our dime instead a few bureaucratic steps will help line up the immigrants across Canada towards airports to flee and here we go: 1- Introduce a 3 months grace period for illegals to depart with their lute, no questions asked 2- Establish a Black-List-Database for all illegals and anyone who makes that list will never get permanent residence no matter how long they stay or even if they apply from abroad down the road 3- Introduce daily fines for overstaying or being here illegal with no ceiling including assets seizure to cover fines 4- Abolish automatic birth citizenship unless both parents are fully legal, else contact your embassy for birth certificate and fetch healthcare, school etc ..on your own dime 5- Revoke driver licenses, bank accounts, temporary SIN numbers of all illegals 6- Mandate the RCMP, Local Police, Sheriffs to check immigration status of anyone who comes in contact with law enforcement including traffic stops 7- Establish new Driver License and other documents for citizens and legal people with specific design and color etc.. 8- Introduce a toll-free number so citizens can report illegals and illegal activities 9- Impose hefty fines and jail time on employers who hire illegals including business closures 10- Limit running to office on all levels to Canadian born citizens 11- No illegal owns, buys or sells any real estate or property Do these and the longest line will be the line leading to airports so our friends CBSA can sit in the ri comfy offices processing illegals at their own pace.

it was always the indigenous playing the 'race card' ,wanting hand outs, made up the majority of criminal activity, dividing, demanding national political representation and governance. dad always said, when residence of reservations see the corruption from their own chiefs, theyll fight each other and one day 'new canadian' (once a minority cultural decent) will flood the country and then they can fight it out with natives. 'white' people cant afford to sustain natives and immigrant hand outs. both out populate 'white' canadians who pay the most taxes and have become the most discriminated. they wonder why existing canadian citizens birth numbers are down? high taxes, no assistance, high cost of living. we cant afford to raise big families. when they try bring in sharia law and christians become a minority, we will see another crusade

The large influx of new immigrants is placing significant pressure on both the housing and rental markets. Simultaneously, the labour market is becoming increasingly unbalanced, creating economic challenges and a potential recession in the near future. Young people who grew up here are particularly affected, as many cannot afford to leave their parents' homes, to pay rent, and eventually purchase their own houses. The number of immigrants must align with the health care and economic capacity of provinces to sustain the housing and job markets. Currently, this balance is disrupted, leading to consequences that impact everyone.

I hate to say it, everyone is just a number including myself. And the numbers say, Canada cannot sustain this level of immigration because its not able to keep up with the infrastructure like new housing, hospitals, etc. If we keep up with this level of immigration, everything will become expensive and harder for everyone else.

Utterly disgusting. Canadian government needs to deport all recent indian arrivals. Most are here via scams. We can't have immigration coming from just one place in massive numbers. You are supplanting Canada as a nation and making it a new "India".

I am tired of people coming to Canada and not understanding why most Canadians celebrate Halloween And when we ask a Person that comes here if they take their children out for Halloween they say i Quote: We dont believe in the Devil only in jesus christ...This is a miss understanding and frankly an insult. So here you go.....Info for you! ...............Canadians celebrate Halloween due to its roots in the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, which was brought to Canada by Irish and Scottish immigrants in the 19th century. While the original celebrations focused on appeasing spirits and marking the end of the harvest, modern Canadians celebrate for fun and community, participating in activities like trick-or-treating, costume parties, and decorating homes with jack-o'-lanterns. Historical Origins Celtic Festival: Halloween's origins lie in the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain (pronounced "sah-win"), which marked the end of summer and the harvest season and the beginning of the dark, cold winter months. Blurred Boundaries: Celts believed that on the night of October 31st, the boundary between the world of the living and the world of the dead blurred, allowing spirits to roam the earth. Pagan Practices: To ward off evil spirits and to celebrate the harvest, people would dress in costumes, light bonfires, and prepare food offerings. All Hallows' Eve: Over time, the tradition merged with Christianity. All Saints' Day was established on November 1st, and the night before became known as All Hallows' Eve, a contraction of which led to the word "Halloween". Arrival in Canada Immigrant Traditions: The customs of Halloween were brought to North America, including Canada, by large numbers of Irish and Scottish immigrants in the mid-1800s. Cultural Adaptation: Over generations, these traditions evolved into the modern holiday we see today, incorporating new elements and becoming a popular cultural event. Modern Celebrations Fun and Community: Today, Canadians celebrate Halloween for the fun and mystery it offers, fostering a sense of community and togetherness. Popular Activities: Common activities include dressing in costumes, carving pumpkins to create jack-o'-lanterns, decorating homes, attending parties, and the popular tradition of trick-or-treating. Cultural Experience: For newcomers, Halloween in Canada is an exciting opportunity to experience Canadian culture and connect with neighbors. This helps out Canadian businesses as well. So next time someone asks you at least you will know to not use the Devil reason! We are not Mexico! Go look up their calibrations! Quite insulting Canada and learn our Celebrations if you chose to come here! Than You for your time!

Thank you for showcasing this city. Brampton has long been the armpit of Peel Region, and the cause of many of the rest of our issues. The new entitled migrants that come here spill out into other areas of the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) spreading the crime and loitering, and essentially "taking over" certain places and causing massive issues. Our Car insurance rates in Peel are insanely high, primarily because of Brampton also being a part of Peel, and the high accident and theft rates coming out of that city. We have a massive issue here in Canada with unchecked mass immigration, and we don't see do be doing anything about removing the people who have overstayed their welcome, aswell as an issue with letting the new population move only to the same already developed places, overpopulating those areas that never had the infrastructure to support those numbers of people. Especially the households that are housing more families than just their own, the people who arent citizens that are clogging up our healthcare systems, all the jobs taken up by the Temporary Foreign Worker Program, the lack of openings in universities and colleges because of international students. Its unbelievable how much they take advantage of the system.

So it seems like 1 particular nationality of new immigrants is causing the stress and strain with their over subscription ... Please stop broad-brushing this issue because we all know & see where the lopsidedness is... Their numbers are unrivalled & you can blame the bilateral agreement involved... Look at all the Singh Hortons with these timigrants 😂... & Then they just hire each other and speak their language on the job constantly & close you out, while you have to repeat your order 5 times for them to understand... Canada, you did this!!... & Now all the chickens are coming home to roost!!

It does work… In the end, after 10 years, the liberals won again. I don’t see any reason for them to change their ways if it brings them success in our democracy. The new immigrants make a powerful voting block and as your numbers increase, their power will also increase… And I do think Canada is a very attractive destination, given all the government subsidies… Healthcare, dental care, child care, Pharma care… Subsidized, housing… To say nothing of the special refugee and immigrant programs…

Yep we are screwed big time, here in Moncton New Brunswick we only used to have a small number of Immigrants usually a mix of francophone students and refugees properly vetted by immigration. Jobs were available for everyone, a small example is the taxi cab drivers who were usually a mix of older semi retired Canadians, Sudanese and Syrian refugees who communicated well and tried to adapt to their new home, Canada. COVID hit and we started seeing Punjabi’s coming in unprecedented numbers, they say as students, from Brampton Ontario?Overnight all Walmart, Taxi/Truck Driving jobs, Tim Hortons, McDonalds were Punjabi jobs who do we blame? Rents are high, jobs once available are unavailable life has become hard where do we run same people voted again for the same government that has destroyed us 😢😢😢.

I am supportive of immigration, but I believe there should be a cap of no more than 1-2.5% annually. A significant number of migrants moving to Canada from the same region or country could cause issues, as this can lead to the formation of "mini-bubble" societies within Canada. These groups may sometimes become the dominant demographic and undermine the existing communities that have contributed to building Canada for decades. We cannot expect new immigrants to seamlessly merge into Canadian society. This is a major oversight by Canada’s Immigration Department. Digital applications from foreign nations may play a role in this phenomenon. There should also be regulations concerning how many new immigrants can be brought in by family members. For instance, one new citizen can legally bring both of their parents and their spouse, which is fair. However, there have been cases where this process is repeated multiple times within ten years, leading to a 1:15 ratio, where one person can bring in six to eight relatives. If there is a labor shortage in essential fields, Canada can offer long-term residency to those who continue to work in those sectors, such as caretakers. However, the pathway to citizenship could be lengthened or require a higher standard. For instance, the requirements could extend from X years of living in Canada to X+5 years, as well as passing a basic Canadian citizenship test, either written or verbal. While an increase of five years may seem unfair or lengthy, it is essential. A newborn child from a Canadian family requires 18 years to gain voting rights in elections, whereas new immigrants—especially those who come for study for four to six years—can potentially gain both citizenship and voting rights sooner if they meet the previous administration's standard. Children under the age of 18 can gain citizenship in as little as X-4 years, regardless of their full integration into Canadian society. This loophole is sometimes abused and provides preferential treatment that favors this process over existing Canadian. In my opinion, it would be fairer to calculate the duration of "living in Canada" based on the number of years they have paid "income taxes" in Canada. This is important because many individuals with multiple passports pay taxes elsewhere while benefiting from Canadian healthcare and other services. The investment in home buying as a pathway to citizenship has contributed to the housing crisis, resulting in numerous empty homes in various regions. While it may offer short-term economic benefits that some politicians favor, it is detrimental to Canada as a whole. If buying a house is the only requirement for citizenship, wouldn't a large portion of the global population be eligible for U.S. citizenship just by investing in U.S. businesses or stocks? This perspective may seem illogical when looking at it from outside the box. Apologies for being a bit wordy; I had much more to say. Nonetheless, I also support temporary residency for up to 6-9 months for those who have been evacuated due to war, natural disasters, or similar circumstances. Special exceptions can be granted for families with members working in critical fields that merit such considerations (high-end industry).

Basically, for the past four years, Biden, Harris and the Democrat Party have spent hundreds of billions of US tax dollars flying illegal immigrants in and basically leaving America’s borders in Mexico and Canada wide open to mass illegal immigration. Then they lied to the American people about the real numbers and how bad the problem really was. In the past few years, the Democrats have spent billions throughout all of our federal agencies via misappropriated US taxpayer funds that were earmarked for American citizens or American infrastructure and development, then used these misappropriated, taxpayer funds to provide housing, food, education, medical care, and in most cases, luxury hotels. Just within the past two weeks FEMA spent over $500 million to provide luxury hotels for illegal immigrants yet a few weeks ago they were still claiming that they didn’t have enough money to help American citizens who suffered catastrophic loss during recent hurricanes and wildfires. The simple fact that Democrats got more upset that Elon Musk bought Twitter than they are, that their own political party in government for the past four years, has literally been holding them at gunpoint and forcing them to pay taxes so that they could steal it or launder it into their own campaigns and pockets is literally disturbing! WTF!!!! If any of those other federal agencies are ran or funded the way U.S. AID were, with the massive corruption, misappropriation, fraud and theft of taxpayer funds, then I hope DODGE goes through an completely audits, every single federal agency in the United States. No wonder the Democrats are freaking out the way they are, if the Republicans got caught this bad with their hand in the taxpayer cookie jar, then you know the Democrats would be screaming a different tune. The Democrats are trying to manipulate taxpayers into believing utter nonsense like their phrase “ no one voted for Elon Musk. “ but in reality no citizen ever votes for the hundreds of the civilian presidential appointed positions to run these federal agencies, every new president pics/appoints to these positions every term. It definitely explains why hard-working tax paying men and women are getting completely ripped off and robbed every time they look at their paycheck and see how extremely and unnecessarily high taxes are now. The Democratic Party has completely destroyed its reputation with the American taxpayer, they got completely exposed for their corrupt, anti-American, extremist, radical, and woke liberal agenda. They were absolutely using tens of millions of US taxpayer funds to finance terrorist organizations like the Taliban and Isis, billions of US taxpayer funds, pushing their racist and sexist woke liberal DEI agenda across the globe, they were absolutely bribing corporate news media to control the narrative and manipulate the American people to influence elections via corporate news media subscription payments to very left, leaning news organizations, such as politico and others, that were clearly and obviously bribes to the media, just one of the NGO of many organizations under U.S. AID paid $75,000 of taxpayer money a year for a Digital subscription to politico’s corporate news outlet , that any one could sign up for $10 a year like any other news outlets digital subscription. The list of fraud, corruption, and very obvious US taxpayer funds theft, just goes on and on and on. I think the worst betrayal of it all is the fact that any US tax paying citizen or to steal one single US tax dollar from the government, we would be publicly arrested, put in handcuffs, charged with a felony, and prosecuted to the absolute max, the law would allow, but these Washington elite politicians are allowed to do this without even a public slap on the wrist is the most disgusting and devious, betrayal, and loss of trust that the American taxpayer has ever known.???????????????????????????????????????????

Here's a refined version of your message:\n\n---\n\nThere is a significant number of Indians in Australia and New Zealand, many of whom initially arrived as international students and chose to stay. This has contributed to a rise in house rents and increased difficulty in finding accommodation. With a population of 28 million, Australia sees a high presence of Indians, who often fill many job positions, making it challenging for citizens to find employment. The Australian and New Zealand governments are partly to blame for issuing visas without expanding housing and job opportunities to accommodate the influx of visitors, students, and immigrants.\n\n---\n\nI hope this helps. If you need any further adjustments, feel free to let me know.

I think the Canadian government has made it far too easy for anyone to immigrate. As an Indian living in India, I can attest that many of us look for the easiest way out and often lack a strong moral compass. Additionally, most of us struggle with adapting to new environments, possibly due to an archaic education system that emphasizes rote learning over conceptual understanding. Many Indians also face challenges with proficiency in the English language.\n\nUnfortunately, Canada’s relatively lenient immigration policies have allowed a significant number of unskilled individuals from India to settle there. Many of these individuals have been reluctant to embrace Canadian culture. Corruption may have played a role as well, with some local Canadian colleges and universities admitting students who lacked merit. Given the extreme levels of corruption in India, this is not surprising.\n\nThe root issue lies in the Canadian government’s lack of strictness and vigilance when formulating immigration rules and policies. Many Indians, frustrated with the current government and financial hardships, seek to leave the country in hopes of a better life in the West. While educated individuals follow proper processes, the uneducated often resort to questionable means. In Canada’s case, this negligence on the part of both governments has had unfortunate consequences.\n\nI hope stricter policies and more accountability lead to better outcomes in the future.

Where are the destination countries that those Canada immigrants moved to? You did not tell the whole story. The audience may think that those people are leaving Canada to US. \n\n1. Among five eyes countries, Canada is the easiest country for people to migrate to. For example Australia skill migrant program does not accept the flight attendant as the required talent. There is very slim chance that the flight attendant can get the PR through the skill migrant program in Australia. Canada is now getting into the trouble similar to the sub-prime crisis in US 15 years ago: too many people who are not the qualified immigrants arrived to Canada in past 2 years. They are leaving because the minimal hourly wages cannot support their living in the big cities like Toronto and Vancouver. \n2. High income tax ? In UK the top tax bucket is well over 40%. In Australia you need to pay 45% income tax plus 2% medical Levy surcharge\n3. High cost of living? I think the cost of living in London of UK and Sydney of Australia are also exceptionally high. The cost of living affordability depends on the income of the migrants. Low income working class will feel the cost of living and housing pressure. But this applies to all countries, including SF of US, Toronto of Canada, Sydney of Australia, London of UK\n4. Rise in crime: I do not understand this logic as the migrants left Canada to US - the city of LA, New York, Seattle and Chicago are far worse than in Canada \n5. Limited Career opportunities: the only country that has better career opportunities is US. What are the main reasons for those who are not migrating to US?\n\nIn summary, all the above points are not the main reasons. The main reason is the liberal government. Canada had taken a large number of wrong low end migrants in wrong time. When the economic downturn turn comes these are the most vulnerable group of people that should leave Canada.\n\nMany Canadian found that they resolved some of the problems by relocating from city to city ie moved from Vancouver to Calgary. Cheaper house price and cost of living, lower crime rate, etc

most likely like new Zealand govt want to turn new Zealand into a ugly china India immigrant country and they doing a good job down side its made new Zealand so ugly huge housing crisis and service's are so over loaded and the cost of living crisis is all from unmanaged unplanned immigration numbers so ugly

The big problem is that Canada increased immigration without having the infrastructure for them. Immigrants tend to move to major populations like Toronto, Vancouver, etc because there are typically more jobs, so these towns had their numbers increase faster than our social net could handle. Add in long-term Governmental reductions in spending on things like housing, healthcare, education with more people to service, and you end up with the housing crisis and inflation that we have.\n\nI understand why immigration was pushed; it was partially because people are collateral on the world stage. The larger your population, the more a country can borrow because you have more people to pay back those loans through taxation. It should work ... As long as you have the infrastructure to support the new citizens.\n\nImmigration needs to be dramatically reduced from current levels for a few years while we work to get up to speed for the populace we have.

I believe it's common in other cultures to invite people who they've just met into their homes. In fact that's how they get to know people. Not so in Canada. Newcomers will sometimes be frustrated because they don't know how to meet people. The answer is to join activities or invite people to cafes. Join a sport group, or invite someone to coffee at a cafe in Canada. Each person normally pays their own bill. That's how you meet Canadians. That is how immigrants avoid being very lonely. True fact, I have a number of friends who have never seen the inside of my house or if they have, it was only from the front entrance. That's perfectly normal so new Canadians should not feel like they are not accepted.

In Canada now Canadians are so angry at Indians coming here on fraudulent papers, conducting themselves like savages without any morals or standards. Turning every restaurant they work at into a biohazard public health danger. It's absolutely sick and these new Indians are majorly racist towards white people. Indians are being beat in the streets now on a daily basis. Canadians are starting to fight back and send a message. Do not come to Canada. There is no affordable housing available for anyone.! There are no doctors for the majority of the population now. Hospitals are forced to close. Many people both native Canadians and new immigrants are forced to become homeless because of an overwhelming number of Indians flooding into Canada. There will be a lot of murders over the next few years in Canada. People are desperate and only trying to survive in their own native country.

Immigrants are being used, most people put everything they have to come here and start a new life, but most people only see us as numbers , most of us don't have access to those social securities or we try to avoid using them because they work different for immigrants, while refugees come with permanent residence, without even speaking the language, and they don't come alone, they come in large groups, complete families all with all the benefits, that to me seems really unfair

If Canadians are leaving in large numbers then guess why new immigrants are leaving too!! Canada is a mess!!!!

Besides distinguishing between legal amd illegal immigration, it would be good to know the numbers behind the types of undocumented immigrants. Many of these 11 million plus people actually belong here in the US, such as the Haitians and the Deeamers (which y'all neglected to mention). But if your asylum claim has been rejected or if you've overstayed your visa (which accounts for many), then deportation is fair. But we need a grand compromise. A path to citizenship for Dreamers and people who are under special arrangements (again, like the Haitians), deportations for most others, with a new visa regime for people who have been working in parts of the economy that - to be blunt - Americans won't.\n\nAlso, most of the people here without proper documents are Mexican. And most came through Mexico. AMLO let that happen. Sheinbaum is going to need to address that. Many Mexicans are also greatly unhappy with what's been going on for the last few years.

See, I know this is wrong. But we have to be honest I am an Indian but moved to America. I stayed in New Jersey and the environment we created there is absurd. We made the place dirty, uncivilized behaviour and the list is long. This is happening in Canada too. Canadians identify everyone as Indians but the major problem they have is with Khalistanis. They have become a menace, gun violence, crimes and a shit ton of things done by these people. There is always a reaction and it is unfortunate that the innocent ones has to face the reaction. We Indians only look at the good ones as an example when it comes to Indian immigrants, but the chaos and misconduct is created by the rest of the uncivilized Indians who are huge in Numbers. My experience girlfriend was Canadian, her mother owned a departmental store she caught and called cops on many occasions were our peyare caught on camera stealing, damaging the store and also peeing right in the corner of the store. I saw all these footage. The major problem with Canada is most of the Indian immigrants that went there were uneducated and directly went to Canada from Indian villages, it's a cultural shock for them and during the initial period everyone behaved in a uncivilized manner. Please understand the root cause of the issue. If I am a guest at your house and keep on causing harm to your home and if this keeps on repeating you will end up frustrated.

Economic indicators say the economy was good. The economy and GDP grew, but the working class didn’t think so. Well, when the number of illegal immigrants per year far exceeds the number of new jobs per year, then the wages of the working class people will not keep up with inflation. Under Biden, the new jobs each year was an average of 1.2 million, but the number of illegal immigrants coming in looking for jobs was over 2 million people. For comparison, under Obama illegal immigration was just 300-400K per year. So as you can now see, the border crisis was a much bigger issue than the Democrats cared to admit.

I would like to highlight the significant economic impact of immigration and international students on Canada's economy. International students contribute substantially to Canada's GDP, with recent estimates showing a contribution of $30.9 billion in 2022, representing 1.2% of the country's total GDP212. This contribution comes from their spending on tuition, accommodation, and other expenses. I remember at 2021 The goverment made a huge compain to have a new immigration acroos the world They did not consider the consequence of high number in immigrate expecially indian nation For instance Social and culturel change, facing adaption problem and bring some conflict political ideas from their back home to Canada .The government must balance all natiotion to have diversty community. They did not do good job. Dont blame indian please, they are not in good position also.

As a trump supporter and I understand laws, am white Italian male from New York we need enforcement the laws deport illegals, great but he got a point, a live it by day mixed status families when I say mixed means your wife or husband are us.citizens and have American kids, children with husband or wife undocumented we should allow them to stay its around 500k people on this situation then the rest just deport them, my view is mixed status families is husband or wife are Americans born and have kids here they need to stay other mixed families like husband and wife are illegal and have kids they aren’t mixed status families because the father and mother didn’t born here no claim to stay here wait your kids be 18 them they apply for you to come back or the government consider them to stay here them they apply for numbers go to 5 million people and the rest send them home this is my 2 cents because in Europe if you are married to a European citizen you allowed to stay laws are different from country to country’s also trump mothers she was a illegal immigrate till she married trump fathers that’s fact google it ?

Yes, white people came to the new world and conquered the natives. For the next few hundred years they built western society as we know it. They were immigrants from different places, but they were mostly homogeniously white, and more importantly, they had commonality in their social norms, holidays, cultures, laws and religion. Mostly English, Irish, Scottish, French, German, polish, etc. -- they blended well and eventually created their own unique shared identities in Canada and United States. Things were stable and people were happy. Immigrants continued to flow, but in smaller numbers over greater lengths of time. This allowed time for integration, learning the common language, finding decent employment and housing, ect. Then Immigrants from vastly different cultures started arriving and in greater numbers, and greater rates... Job availability, housing, educational/medical services, travel infratructure could not keep pace with the sheer speed and amount of people flooding in. Therefore, everything and everyone suffered, and it isn't stopping.

I'm pretty sure that the govt have done an immigration freeze before. Many applications were just halted and nothing happened for several months. This was a decade or so ago.\nBut yes if Stephen Harper was stupid enough to increase the immigration numbers then we know who to blame - the Conservatives!! \nSO DO NOT VOTE for the Conservatives. They just want money - Taxes. That is all. They will probably also increase the numbers again for more new taxes. \nRemember Conservatives = Trump. These people act like Trump. Greedy for Power and Money. This also means Doug Ford as well!! \nTrudeau should also have cut back these numbers ASAP during and after the Pandemic. Someone did not advise him very well at all. \nI do agree that Trudeau needs to do another freeze and not accept any new applications for at least 6 to 12 months, in order to process those applications already in the system.\nTrudeau then needs to severely cut the incoming numbers back to 200K like they used to be. And then keep it to that level!!

Because the Liberals are trying to reverse course on anything to reduce their terrible poling numbers. There should be 0 new immigrants until they fix the problems they caused!

Brutal. This guy believes his own lies, and the reporter is letting him try to spin a new narrative. This is a blatant attempt by the Liberals public relations to repair their image. \n\nNearly 1 million people are missing in the official population, largely due to expired visa holders remaining in Canada. There is a gross disparity on where immigrants are sourced from. \n\n2022 Canada’s total PR number accounted for by country:\n\nIndia (118, 095 immigrants) – 27%\nChina (31,815 immigrants) – 7.2%\nAfghanistan (23,735 immigrants) – 5.4%\nNigeria (22,085 immigrants) – 5.05%\nPhilippines (22,070 immigrants) – 5.04%\nFrance (14,145 immigrants) – 3.2%\nPakistan (11,585 immigrants) – 2.6%\nIran (11,105 immigrants) – 2.5%\nUnited States of America (10,400 immigrants) – 2.3%\nSyria (8,500 immigrants) – 1.9%

cut immigration to match new housing, take Canadians needing house off the target numbers. that amounts to zero immigration.
2024-10-21 2
I honestly don’t mind these numbers of immigrants as a Canadian, but we need more housing by a lot and we need a better distribution. There 200+ countries, why is any one of them making up 32% up new canadians!

I’m not anti immigration but I am anti mass immigration especially when they all come from one place. Importing millions of migrants from a different culture all in a short period time is going to cause friction. The new migrants act , behave and drive like they do back home because there numbers are so big. Many are rude and have bad hygiene

One of the biggest problems is our immigration numbers which are waaay too high. You’d think that the Minister of immigration would talk to the Minister of Housing, advising that we have no housing for new Canadians and foreign students, but apparently not.

This 3-month old video is outdated. Since it was made, IRCC has announced big cuts to numbers of students visas & temporary resident visas with effect from August, 2024. The numbers of new immigrants planned mentioned in this vid are not accurate anymore.

YGood day. For from context I'll reveal a little about me. I am around 27% Indian, 34% northern African people which is around 61% combined. My other ancestry includes Wales, Sweden, Norway Scottish and Irish, Hebrew/ jew as in from 12 tribes of Israel, However, the world calls me black Jamaican born. I live in small town with population under 41,000 people in northern Ontario Canada for past 21 years. I remember when I came here with company contracted to build and say very few black people mostly French African and some mixed black with some Chinese probably total under 20 people other than white or indigenous peoples. Over the years was steady increase of black, Chinese, Philippino, and my Indian doctor and his family to maybe total around 50 none white none indigenous peoples. Just before pandemic we had a large number of Indian students which was awesome to see considering my heritage as my grandmother on dad side was Indian. But a year before pandemic we noticed many started working in convenient stores and fast food places like most high school students do to save for college/university which was becoming a problem for Canadian students as some employers got incentives or cheaper labour to maximize profits. As pandemic rolled in so it seems more Indian students from other regions in Canada. So, Canada, Ontario, and small town I reside already had huge housing problems as some homes we even to be condemned and indigenous homeless from north increased crime rates and now we had students living beyond building code occupancy with shared living causing rentals to shoot up in prices as landlords became greedy and selfish. This small town of under 41,000 is by some estimates over 55,000 by increasing Indian students who for past 5 years fighting to get permanent residents even though they came as students which proves the goal was always invasion and coming as students was the ticket. If you and rest of new immigrants don't see the problem yet, I'll continue. 95% of taxis have Indian drivers, 98% food and other delivery Indian, 90%+ convenience and groceries, clothing and all stores 90%+ , vehicles on roads 70% Indian, my son barely got into college with 90%+ Indian population in college and his class is 2 white students, himself only mixed , and 2 Africans and 22 Indian students who cheats on a regular basis but professor afraid to confront as they are quick to call racism. But even bigger for me is these Indian students/new immigrants have no respect for the history of Canada and USA not knowing how indigenous peoples were raped tortured and murdered to take over this country and then enslaved African people to build this country while they raped tortured treat less than animals and still suffering with fighting for equal rights for over 400yrs while still being racially profiled and beaten and murdered by police officers because of this colonizers system. Now you come here and benefits from black and indigenous peoples struggles and claiming rights when you have not been fighting the battles with us or for us. Also, the criminal aspects of your community is not being taked about as well which includes extortion to businesses owned by Indians, car thefts, drug trafficking, human trafficking and other criminal activities. There's so much more than just saying you feel unloved by the people you're taking things from for their children and grandchildren and generations without showing any respect as that is defined as selfish. You and many new immigrants forget this is not India and expect everyone to bow to you and that is what we are against. i Have some awesome friends that are new immigrants and are respectful and want to learn about history and current events and impacts they have and how to reprove Canada not destroy Canada

Please stop blaming other countries for your problem of overpopulation. The most number of new immigrants is from South Asia.
2024-09-04 2
Now it's the time for Canada to put a cap on the number of Indians moving to Canada. Over 40% of all new immigrants moving to Canada are only from one country, India. This is wrong on so many levels.

I'm not sure if it's students or temp workers or immigration on general bit there has been a huge rise in the number of people from India working at our big bix stores, gas stations, fast food.... like 3 out of 4 new workers are recent imports ... its just kinda crazy and unsustainable really.

0 sounds like a good number for new immigrants. Wouldn't hurt to send a few back now that you mentioned it.

In fear for his life if deported back to Kenya?\nThe first thing they do once they get landed immigrant status, is fly back home to visit their family. All these persecuted, life being threatened migrants do this. Once they gain Canadian Citizenship, the threat is over, no one cares about their s*xual orientation and their own people back home love them again, so they can travel with new confidence.\nYou can rest assured that Trudeau intervened on his behalf. Gotta keep the Alphabet Soup numbers growing.
