Eh..... that is to high of a price... all because they let the wrong people in. If it cost tax payers that much than i would rather spend it on screening than deportation.

No doubt about it, Canada is for Canadians. If you wanted to, you could deport millions of immigrants, but let's be real about the cost. The Canadian economy, its pensions, its farms, and its health sector all rely on immigrants to pay taxes and fill jobs. It's not some big conspiracy about population replacement; it's just about the economy. You can't have one without the other. Canadians aren't the only ones dealing with this. In Asia and Africa, it's a different kind of immigrant, the ones with money who buy up land and property, driving locals out of the market. They're not given an ear either, because money talks. It’s always been about the money and the power, and Canadians should understand that perspective too. The culture or religion of a few bad apples shouldn’t be used to tarnish every immigrant. We do need to do a better job screening people, but it’s not fair to paint everyone with the same brush. In the U.S., Indian immigrants are top earners and incredibly successful, but people still complain that they’re "taking their jobs." So, if an Indian person is a failure, they're a problem. If they're a success, they're still a problem. They can't win. This old colonial mindset is alive and well. It's tough for some people to process that a person of color can outsmart them and rise up by their own bootstrap. But when those same folks go to Asia or Africa, suddenly they feel that old nostalgia and are much more comfortable with the social hierarchy there. It would be ideal if no one had to leave their home country for a better life. When we have more justice in the world for everyone, maybe we won't have to keep having these conversations.

So much for screening people before you let them into your country, just invite the worst of the worst of everything ,no wonder Canada is such a joke now and the whole world is watching , Disgraceful , shame on the liberals for the last 10 years !

Maybe consider blaming the people who were given an easier way in (through the CBP1 app) to America who’ve committed heinous crimes in this country.\n\nThose who’ve committed crimes made the prospects of coming into America worse for those who want to come in quietly, live under the radar and make a better life for themselves. America is not supposed to be a place you can enter in and just break the law (especially taking lives. )The crimes committed by those not screened, who come into this country create an uptick in crime for America. As much as part of our country hates it, something has to be done about it. As with anything, your child does something they’re not supposed to you’re going to correct the situation by rules/laws. Especially when things get out of hand.\n\nAlso consider blaming the recent government for not adding a vetting process into the CBP1 app system, which has created a mess. And they should have made that CBP1 app public for everyone to know about. So those entering the proper way could have used it so they could enter this country easier and faster.

Who cares they entered the country illegally lived off of taxpayers money freely got everything they wanted and then they go protesting with the palestine's they committed a criminal offense by just being in the country illegally criminal is a criminal you're lucky that they sent you back to where you came from Trump could have done much worse and then you complain that your hands and feet were shackled in handcuffed and that you couldn't wash well well is that not a part of your religion anyways only bathed maybe once every couple of weeks circle screen for justice non-fair in your own country could you answer hours illegally you took from us you breathe our air and lift amongst us in our houses all freely so you stole from the country and its people think about that while you're complaining what you did wrong

You are free to believe what you want but you cannot have the full idea of what's going on in a place until you live there for a while. And yes, your all the problems that you stated are true. But right now what would be much more appreciative is talking about the solution which nobody is talking. So it's easy to sit there in Australia and say that oh there's this problem in Canada and that problem in Canada. But you are only experiencing it and witnessing it through a screen. You don't know what's going on here and all of the things with the housing crisis. It's true everything is true, but there are still ways that you can get ahead and it's a governmental flaw that all of the people that are experiencing which are not so empowered

We *better* pay attention. \nEurope is having immigration issues and even the Nordic countries are getting hostile. I don't totally blame the immigrants, they are wanting to leave a terrible environment, but the host government should set the tone. They should screen applicants, set limits, and have assimilation rules such as being tested for the native language, having the new people take history courses of the host country, etc. \nFor many reasons, much of the planet is becoming harsh to live in --- drought, genocide, employment, war, etc. It is going to continually get worse, and nobody has a legit, big picture plan to improve things. \nAnd this only deals with one issue, but there are MANY. We should be alarmed. Panic is one mis-step away.

its like a sudden influx of 4 million in people in a span of 4 years.. im one of them but this is too sudden and too much.. just check vancouver, one area is full of east indians and another area is all chinese, nothing against the people, but control could have been put in place.. plus we also take lots of refugees from war torn countries and theres no screening for those.. we were screened heavily, education check, medical etc.. but some when they come here, they think, they can carry their culture, instead of adopting to canadian way of life.....

I'll be honest while writing this! Being Indian i feel ashamed nowadays bcoz of Trudeau's love affair for Khalistani's. When i came here 6 years it was way better but in last 2-3 years Trudeau has literally dumped whole Punjab into Canada without any screening. This people from my own country don't speak English, don't wanna dress in a civil way, don't wanna act civil, shove their religious thoughts on everyone and feel as if they own everything. Yes me being an Indian says this and yes I've gad enough of this Punjabi's. I came to Canada for a different life but it looks like it's getting worse from bad.\n\nTaxing us till death, handing out welfare cheques to the entitled ones (natives) of this country and treating actual taxpayers like shit is insane. The lack of rent control was crazy. I had no chance of ever moving back to my hometown and I'm stuck with part time work where I am.

Reddit is a very leftist platform and so these types of responses were predictable. A lot of it would have been true in the 70s and 80s but these are Canadian stereotypes that people are desperately holding onto. More and more things are being delisted from our healthcare coverage, meaning that I often hear of people getting charged out of pocket. I was surprised 3 years ago when my doctor ordered a cancer screening after I was suffering a digestive issue. I was not prepared to pay out of pocket for something as essential as cancer screenings. This sort of thing always used to be covered. It was always covered by our much higher cost of living and our higher taxes. If my taxes keep going up, I expect services to get better, not to decline like they have been. Our seniors are afraid to go to the doctor these days. Suicide is being offered to them instead of proper care and treatment. After they had spent decades working and paying into the system they are being shut out.

You think Americans have it bad. But think about how bad it must be to risk you life and freedom to come to a country that thinks we are so much. No I don’t think everyone should be a loud. There should be a better way to screen who we let in. If you have a drug or violent on your record than no go back. But what about the other people that is trying to help make it better for their kids. Wouldn’t you try to get out of a country that’s so bad that it’s better to be dead thank live where you are. Canada is soo weird. University students who spend 100k+ on education and are in the Canadian system are having problems getting residency, whereas shady people who get here illegally or get residency by immoral do it without much problem. I mean not even illegals but some south asians who are literally scamming and exploiting the system, have no problem and then when you take people from very low income class enter your country and who do uncivilized things you are astonished what else you are expecting a lot of them are uneducated who are not civilized, make your screening process better, if you want immigrants due to labour shortages and slow population increase, try to incorporate students and potential people who have more chances to fit your society. This trend will lead to an anti-immigrant narrative. We have seen a similar trend in Europe. They took the worst people in who were problematic in their countries to begin with
