If you come to canada, seeking asylum, or immigrating, they should all be required to work day 1, Healthcare, fine, handouts no. Welfare no. Work. Like my family when they immigrated. All the government needs to do is set up programs with farmers, or any industry to provide worker spots. Fed Government can either top up(not preferred) or like the good old days require an employer to provide lodging, for a nominal rate, towards their total income paid(3 square included). My and countless other families/ people had to enter the country that way, and it worked. So if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Canada’s government is out of control. Immigration levels have exploded far beyond what housing, jobs, and infrastructure can support. When permits expire, people must return home as the system was designed, not be quietly rolled over. Immigration has to match capacity. The real problem is not just people, it’s the Canadian immigration system and the loopholes IRCC has left wide open. In Punjab and other parts of India, wealthy families are arranging marriages where a girl with IELTS comes to Canada, then calls her husband here. Many of these are nothing more than contract marriages, where once the boy arrives, they go their separate ways. This is blatant abuse of the system and has created a wave of people entering Canada without even basic English skills. IRCC needs to wake up and fix this. Students on study or work visas must not be allowed to bring their spouses. If someone wants to come, let them take an English test themselves and prove they’re qualified. Study permits should only be issued for genuine university students, not random private colleges being used as back doors into the country. On top of that, no work permits should be given while on a study visa. Employers who hire students illegally on cash as cheap labour should face strict penalties, heavy fines, and blacklisting. Until these loopholes are closed, Canada’s immigration system will continue to be exploited and lose credibility. IRCC, this is not immigration — this is fraud facilitated by weak laws.

Two generations ago (50-60 years ago) the Indians who came to Canada, with no family in Canada had excellent qualifications. They had to come with jobs waiting for them in universities, engineering firms, architectural firms and hospitals. The students were Masters or Ph.D. with full scholarship. They went on to build the country but they were minorities fighting the occasional racism on the street (as the woman in the green t- shirt says). Today, as a result of Trudeau's naïveté about the level of corruption in India, there's a huge influx of relatively unqualified Indians arriving and not being able to assimilate into Canadian society because they do not have good job qualifications. They end up living in ghettos and turn to crime. We must fix that by being much more selective of Indian immigrants. As someone of the Indian diaspora, I'd also like to say that there are those Indo Canadians ("brown folks") who want nothing to do with the Brampton or Surrey ghettos. Many of us are completely secular, having no religion and share nothing with these people fighting around temples and yelling at each other in Punjabi or Hindi. We speak English and French and vote in the elections.
