The title is misleading. I thought he actually went to the USA and confronted Trump in person, but apparently not. This doesn’t really count. Come on, Trudeau! Go face Trump! Anyone can give a speech nowadays it seems. it takes a real leader to confront him. At least Macron, Starmer and Zelensky had balls to face trump.

My hunch says, trump will make this guy win again and make him give more speech like this.

Now that he's on his way out, he gives his best speech ever?! American people, we thank you for words of support. NOW, figure out a way to get rid of Trump and the oligarchs. It will bring down democracy everywhere if America goes down this dictatorial path. WWIII will never be Zelenskyy's fault, it will be your country's fault. Ensure that he does not trample your constitution and find military backing to stay on past the four years if you can't get rid of him soon. Get your representatives in Washington to work against this guy, whether they are Republicans or Dems. In all our countries, we have been complacent, streaming movies, gaming, buying stuff we don't need AND we've elected far too many morons! We need to use the power of democracy to form government to our needs, not the corporate world and oligarchs!

Someone should do a split screen of Trump giving a speech vs any other world leader giving a speech. I don't know how any can vote for this orange buffoon.

I really like the way that he said about he's not going to sugar coat anything and he spoke so clearly to inform Americans what is truly going on with what Trump is doing to this country and Trudeau is telling people the truth just like the leader from North Korea. When you get leaders who barely rare give speeches then you know that they are not bull sh**ing about what they are talking about, but Trump is doing that and he's going to destroy people's lives in America and he's going to destroy America. Why would he turn a country (Canada) who's been there for America into an enemy and that's because he doesn't care about the country and they don't have what he wants and all he cares about is money and power, so know he just turned a country Canada into an enemy, WTF IS HE THINKING ABOUT CLEARLY NOT PEOPLE IN AMERICA!

Trump better learn Russian to start giving his speeches in two languages too

Now this is how an intelligent and reasonable leader gives a speech! I know Trump doesn't understand how tariffs work, but how can other Republicans in Congress agree to starting trade wars with our closest allies? Russia and China probably can't believe their good fortune. Trade wars with your allies, Trump crapping on NATO and then hanging Ukraine out to dry. How is this allowed to happen? Things are going to get much, much worse.

You know why there are no trump supporters (yet) in the comments here telling you why trump is right and Trudeau is wrong? Because right-wing propagandists haven't had time yet to tell trump supporters what to think of this speech. There's many reasons not to like Trudeau up here in Canada, many of which are the reason he'll (rightfully) no longer be the PM next week. As a conservative I hated him for SNC-Lavalin (among other scandals), and the fact that his inexperience with the economy Harper left him is probably part of why this trade war is going to hurt more than it could have, and the fact that he's often been kind of a phony more concerned with looking and sounding good for the press cameras. Not this time. Nothing phony here; I've got to give credit to him for capturing the national mood pretty much perfectly with this speech. Good on him. \n\nAnd congratulations as well to Donald for pretty much handing the Liberals their best shot at a fourth term, too. What an absolute idiot. Normally I'd turn my nose up at having to vote Liberal, but I am so, so sick of the brand of empty populism Trump stands for that it looks like that's what I'm gonna be doing come election time.

Kudos to Trudeau for giving an elegant speech. I did not vote for Trump, aka Felon #47, for obvious reasons. He is a racist, unfit for the office and a damn FELON!
