As a Canadian citizen I have always admired the US up until now, I sincerely wanted to move to the US to build homes and start up a company. But now am re-evaluating my decision because if this how the US treats their friends and allies, I really feel sad for their enemies. Both countries benefited from having a good relationship and now the great US has no one willing to challenge Mr Trump on this idiotic move, America is alienating themselves from a lot of countries and regular Americans are the ones who are going to suffer from this fall-out, the rich won't be affected but regular working class folks your stress is going to get a whole lot worse and that's unfortunate. You people from XYZ are really like the EU hypocrites that all you got is words. As a Canadian, I hate Trudeau and everything his government has done to the country. I want a PM like Trump that is willing go against the entire system(deep state) and dig out all the dirt even though you're in the way of a lot of powerful people and organizations. Out of all the world leaders today, Trump is the only one with that kind of courage. Compare that to Trudeau—aside from his nice suits and polished public image, what has he actually done to improve the lives of Canadians? \nWe need a DOGE go into WHY WE ARE PAYING SO MUCH TAXES. When I was living in Vancouver, I (and many ppl) would just drive cross the border to get gas and groceries because it's just much cheaper once you're on US soil.... For years we cannot retain any talents because they would just migrate to the states because the pay is much higher with less taxes. I used to live in a bubble thinking that even though life is tough and it's harding to make a living here but at least it's more peaceful here than the States. That is not the case anymore and everything is getting worse in the past 10 years.

I do not know if tariffs or Trump's actions are the correct thing to do. But why can't the USA do 25% tariffs, if Canada has 65% tariffs on the USA? Why is Canada demanding the USA support them? Someone please explain it to me. And Trudeau could have picked up the phone and called Trump, this speech was not meant to solve anything. What is so brilliant except to heighten rhetoric and tension? Someone needs to be a grown up but going on CNN and insulting Trump isn't the way.

Donald Trump needs a fight wherever there is no fight, because it's what legitimizes who he is. He needs conflict to give his life purpose, and we all go down the drain with him because of that affliction.

Every country should be responsible for their own goods. The day we start relying on other countries for what we need we're in a heck of a mess. Because China couldn't get our merchandise to our plant we had to shut down for almost a month. We messed up sending some of our work to China. After this we got everything in the US. Cheaper prices are not the solution. Cheaper labor is not the answer. Trump is concerned about the drugs coming into our country and since the borders are affected these drugs will be coming into our country many other ways. You know where criminals go to get out of the US. Canada. Trump is doing this for our country and you can bet on this. I'm sick of drugs in our country killing people everyday. I'm sick of guns but just about every household owns guns. Children are killed in their own homes with guns. Who cares about alcohol being sold in their state. Honestly. People are homeless because of addiction to alcohol. Yeah saying president Trump using fentanyl for this for this trade war was a bad move. President Trump is doing this for the drugs taking over this country.

This is almost political interference from Canada trying to attack trump over this and to try and turn Americans against each other. Most Canadians will tell you this guy needs to go.

If we are going to be an authoritarian, antidemocratic, fascist dictatorship, we have to shed our old friends who would get all judgy about the the human rights abuses. So, step one, destroy relationships with friends. Meanwhile, we need a president and I can only say F-no to Vance and I don't know how many other dictator butt goblins in the line of succession, so, since Trudeau is going to be looking for work, lets make and exception and hire him for president. I'd much rather have one with a pro-Canada bias than one one who seems to think he is Putin's Elon Musk.

I honestly believe Trump wants these tariffs because the 25% tariff will go directly into government coffers and he needs money to cover the huge tax cuts he gave his cronies and the wealthy. Unfortunately, Americans will be paying this 25% tax. No winners on either side.

I think it is time to use all the unused land to grow our vegetation and any thing else that gets planted to use for the Canadian. We do have the brain and the finances to grow our own fruit even if it takes a couple of years for the plants to produce the vegetation to supply the need. We need to manufacture our own goods. It is only one simple issue we will face but it is one we can handle! Oil, gas, car parts and cars...do it here and get some of the unemployed individuals Living on Provincial Checks off their butts and put them to work. (any that can at all} It might just surprise people at how many would have a reason to get up in the morning and the self confidence they need to get rid of the very thing Trump said was killing US people and stop it from coming in from the US! If we are going to tell it lets tell the truth!.
