Hi Canadian friends! As an Italian used to live in a country ruled by many incapable politicians (truth is we stopped to have the most valuable ones between the second half of the 1970s and the first half of the 1980s) I have to say your prime minister Trudeau has always been seen like a good one from Europe and this speech is no exception. So, why will he soon leave his office? What' s there that we don' t know or understand?

Great speech by Trudeau (other than one point: about the Orange Sphincter being a smart guy). Trudeau was authentic and eloquent and very angry. Good for Trudeau for articulating so well what so many people think, and what needs to be said. The Orange Sphincter can barely string 2 coherent words together. YAAAAAY TRUDEAU ??

I’ve read a lot of comments from people saying “Trudeau ruined Canada” in response to people expressing their support for Trudeau in this time.\n\nThat’s not really a great point.\n\nIf Trudeau hasn’t been good for Canada, but gives a coherent, inspiring, and professional speech in this moment that unites Canadians and others alike, then that should speak so much to how awful this situation is. Huge respect to Trudeau and Canada for not backing down. I hope one day we’ll be allies with the right side of the world again.\n\nWe wanna talk about a leader ruining a country? That’s what Donald is doing right now. Except he won’t unite us in the future with a speech like this.\n\nThis American stands with Canada!

Trudeau is an idiot king. This speech from a guy that has been pushing for the legalization of hard drugs across Canada and leaving our borders wide open. He has pissed away Canada’s prosperity on wasteful spending and his climate agenda. This buffoon has zero credibility. He is an actor and puts in a good show. I’ll give him that. Mr tough guy. He is laughable. We need a real leader in Canada.

Trudeau’s speech, spot on. This CNN “analysis” says so much about why it’s lost its value. Quoting the Washington Post’s use of the word “dumb” does not make a speech harsh. Good lord. 47 reckless governance is harsh, cruel and intentionally damaging, not to mention the way he speaks daily. Get it right.

As a Canadian I'm not a fan of Trudeau but this is a very good speech, proud to be a Canadian.

It’s truly unbelievable how gullible people can be, and I’m not saying this to be cruel, this is just the straight truth. Justin Trudeau is a proven liar and an opportunist, plain and simple. Time and time again, he’s shown that he’ll say whatever fits his agenda, no matter how dishonest or manipulative. He’s openly embraced and pushed harmful, nonsensical ideologies, including radical transgender policies aimed at children. Without question, he’s been the most damaging Prime Minister in Canadian history. Under his leadership, Canada isn’t just struggling, it’s circling the drain. That speech everyone’s praising — he didn’t even write it. It’s all just another performance, another chance to prop up his fake image. The truth is, Trudeau has done far more harm to this country than good, and that’s the reality whether people want to admit it or not.\n\nAnd for all the Trump haters out there, it’s incredible, actually baffling, how nobody seems to be talking about the billions and billions of taxpayer dollars that have been completely wasted — just vanished into thin air. You don’t hear a word about that. It’s unbelievable. Meanwhile, America’s borders were secure under Trump, but you never hear about that either. And let’s not forget, men weren’t allowed to compete against women in sports, which should be common sense, but somehow even that’s controversial now. The silence on all of it is staggering. Please keep in mind, that all the issues we have in Canada are because of Trudeau. He's been in power for almost a decade. The widespread drug abuse and crime is because of him being weak on policy and handing out drugs like candy paid by tax payers. More people died from fentanyl in Canada than our soldiers in WWII. That is all on his watch. He is only making these changes because of Trump. What kind of a leader is Trudeau to only become Canada first when a person from outside the country threatens him? He is a horrible leader and a traitor to the Citizens and the Country we call Canada. Regardless of what his speech is, he cannot be trusted with his globalist agenda. He has stepped down (thank goodness!!) and Canada is looking forward to having Pierre Poilievre as our PM.

Canadian here. Wake up Canadians. Many people are praising Trudeau for this speech. Don't. He is out as Liberal leader within the week. He doesn't have to follow through on anything he said. Plus, he just stated that he's smart enough to suggest that Trump just put a 25% tax on Canadian goods for Americans but he also thinks that you are dumb enough not to realize that he just put a 25% tax on Canadians for American goods. Trudeau basically created the situation for these tariffs (open border to let anyone come here). He loves this as he gets to take the apparent moral high ground for the first time in his life and wants this speech to be the way he is remembered rather than years of failing Canada. Forget about the last 9 years and vote Liberal if you are a fool.

Very good speech by Trudeau except for one comment. He said Donald is a smart man. I'm sure he was just being polite. Donald Trump is not a smart man. He is an idiot. Plus he's crazy and sadistic and evil, and he suffers from dementia. The cult of Trump is a death cult.

I’m a Canadian and no fan of Prime Minister Trudeau. It’s unfortunate the best speech he ever gave was after he resigned as Prime Minister. What he has said in this speech is absolutely true, despite the fact, I think Trump is doing some good things for the USA. This Terrif war with your neighbour is stupid. Unfortunately for us in Canada our Prime Minister has not given us the tools and freedom to grow economically and prosper the way we should have. Canadians should be living like Kings, but unfortunately are living paycheque to paycheque because of the stranglehold that our Prime Minister has put on businesses and its citizens. Now Canada has very little leverage, I believe to fight this Terrif war. Don't let one rehearsed speech speak to Trudeau's competency as a leader. This wind bag has single handedly destroyed our Country in the past 10years. These tarrifs could have been avoided if his cabinet could have reached a deal and good diplomacy. I have zero confidence with Trudeau and his liberal party they can navigate any turbulent waters with Trump at the helm. Federal election cant come soon enough.

One thing Trudeau is good at is talking. Eloquent words and well said, unfortunately words will not put food on my table. However, again, that was a very very nice speech.

I'm not a fan of Justin Trudeau by any means, HOWEVER... Hearing his speech just now filled me with pride to be Canadian and standing up to the new autocratic fascist government of our southern neighbour. I've watched over the last +/- 40 days the UnUnited States of America devolve into Russia's lap dog, with Putin's excrement on Orange Man's face on a near daily basis. I hope that whatever good people left down there can rise up and take back their country ASAP, otherwise the entire world will suffer the catastrophic consequences!

Don't get me wrong: This is sick and sad at the same time! Stand strong, Canada! Europe stands with you! Maybe we Europeans are going to import a lot more goods from you now, because Europe already plans to import much less from the... whatever is left over of the USA. I have now started to be more conscious from where are all the goods and stuff that are available for purchase here in Finland really coming from. I just bought a big smoked fish originated from Canada at the local grocery store and from now on, starting to look carefully our labels to get this support to the right address. ❤

There's many reasons not to like Trudeau up here in Canada, many of which are the reason he'll (rightfully) no longer be the PM next week. As a conservative I hated him for SNC-Lavalin (among other scandals), and the fact that his inexperience with the economy Harper left him is probably part of why this trade war is going to hurt more than it could have, and the fact that he's often been kind of a phony more concerned with looking and sounding good for the press cameras. Not this time. Nothing phony here; I've got to give credit to him for capturing the national mood pretty much perfectly with this speech. Good on him. \n\nAnd congratulations as well to Donald for pretty much handing the Liberals their best shot at a fourth term, too. What an absolute idiot. Normally I'd turn my nose up at having to vote Liberal, but I am so, so sick of the brand of empty populism Trump stands for that it looks like that's what I'm gonna be doing come election time.

I'm from the UK. Excellent speech from Trudeau. \nI support Canada, the good people of the USA, our neighbor's in Europe and Ukraine. I stand with you all against the tyranny of Trump and his war criminal master Putin. \nGood people across the globe with share common values will not be divided by a handful of mindless lying dictatorial thugs.

This man announced his resignation in almost 2 months ago, then prorogued parliament, then backed the other WEF globalist dude immediately available even though never once elected to public office, and is now speaking on behalf of a country he has never really supported at all.\nHe reads a good speech, that was written by a speech writer, but his past decade of actions haven't been pro Canadian.\nCanada will be fine. With or without Trudeau, Trump or any other narcissistic politician that loves the sound of their own voice.

As a Canadian, I am not a big fan of Trudeau but I must say this was a good speech. Too bad Donald doesn’t care. BTW Maker’s Mark is one of my favorite brands. I guess I will have to quit it at least for a while. ?
