We’re only vacationing in Canada until trump is OUT! Go Canada!!!! ??

can't give an opinion about living in USA, because I never stayed for long (only for vacations or short visits), but as a visitor, I used to go once or twice a week in the 90's (I used to live 5 minutes drive from the border), as a visitor, I was always welcomed and made friends very easily. Of course, being only a visitor, I didn't have to experience day to day life or any major problems. About police presence, I guess it depends where you go in USA, I'm from Montreal & we also have a very visible police presence (guess it's common in bigger cities). Didn't have any problems with police in USA, like everywhere, if you comply, you'll have good relationship with policemen. If you try to play or disrespect them, you're in for some trouble--no different here in Canada.

Hell no! It’s a fun place to visit, I love Florida California. I’m looking forward to going to the Carolinas, but I would never move there permanently. As a woman in Canada with children, what I do with my uterus is nobody’s business. I like my option of 18 month parental leave. I like my option not to do overtime and not have affect my job. I like my vacation and I like my sick leave. We have a safety net up here for mother‘s allowance child tax credit unemployment insurance. It is a safety net for hand up, not a handout .You guys like to pick your presidents and what your comedians will make for a living for the next 4 to 8 years. Up here we pick our Prime Minister‘s based on what they do up until they are seeking election and vote accordingly. We’re not allowed to carry weapons and use them for protection up here we look out for each other. I would prefer my children to live in a multicultural society where they are just used to other traditions and culture and Orientationchoices. That is not based on the colour of your skin. I like to have a conversation about a political opponent without it getting dangerous you’re allowed to have an opinion up here and that’s how we view it, but quite frankly after half an hour 15 minutes we we get bored of political views and just walk away from you.There’s no such a thing as you don’t want to live in that area and you have to be careful about where your kid goes to school. What does that do to the people that you’ve left behind? How does that make that better for them? I had a friend that worked down in the United States and every time I talk to her, she always uttered. I have to be aware of my white privilege. What the hell is that and I have never seen anything in your news down there about your native society we try to acknowledge and integrate them quite frankly, you guys are just worried about yourselves and not about anybody else

Vacations once or twice a year? I definitely need to know this Canada you're talking about. I live here for 14 years and I never had that privilege... and like millions of qualified immigrants, I spend a lot of money and effort and life to come to this place that was never home. On the top, you're right. There's all this poverty going on like you're describing, but there's so much more than that... and it's going to get really worst after Trump gets back, next January. Oh yeah...

Many people have commented here to change India and make it livable instead of dreaming of Canada but let me tell you, ideally it is very welcoming and patriotic thought to make India top class country in the world in all respect but keeping current politicians standards, democratic model and caste & religion discrimination, it is next to impossible to implement changes. China has done despite massive population because it has hidden dictatorship and there are no inside traitors. Many entities within and outside India are doing their level best to break and shake India. \n\nI am from Canada, I just arrived in India on vacation. It disturbed me a lot to see trash and garbage everywhere ( especially on Kurla-Andheri-Mankhurd) on the streets from Mumbai airport, the town planning, landscape, traffic, road quality, people's civic sense (and many more things to mention) are in worst shape which is not a sign of good quality life. Especially when you enjoy lavish, luxurious, clean hygienic, sustematic life style abroad, you naturally tend tobe fascinated with that country, no matter how much patriotic you're. Somewhere people make the problem, somewhere government or governing bodies and somewhere both. \nForeign visitors must be experiencing what I experienced. That is why we Indians are always become victims of hate and criticism abroad.

We left Canada semi-permanently in 2023. It's too cold, miserable, the travel distances wear you down, the people are generally unfriendly, the government is a mess, the currency is weak and getting weaker, the hours have always been long (2 weeks vacation a year, and be surprised if you're not fired right after), low incomes comparatively, a bad and getting worse healthcare system (re: thousands line up for one doctor accepting new patients in Kingston) and high taxes. Combine this with housing that will cost more than 70% of your income, overall the quality of life is low and there is no reason to be there.

I’m a Canadian living in Asia. Canada is a great place if you have money and a good job and house. If you’re an ordinary person it’s not so good. You’ll be working about 50 weeks a year and living paycheck to paycheck. Vacation? Savings? Buy a house? Probably not

Symptomatic of Canada is the fact that on average Government employees earn 20% more than those in equivalent jobs in the private sector, they retire will fully indexed pensions equivalent to their 3 highest salary years (private sector employees must pay for their own pension or try and live off the universal pension of $1,200 per month from CPP), their benefits and vacation time are unmatched by the private sector. It is workers in the private sector and the companies that employ them who pay all the taxes required to compensate the most overpaid and bloated government service in the world. As a result, Canada's private sector is no longer competitive. It is a country where parents no longer encourage their children to find a high pay job in the private sector, they instead encourage their children to either move to the USA (if they're ambitious) or secure a government sector job. THIS IS THE PROBLEM WITH CANADA. and God help you if you're born in Canada as a Caucasian Make your change of securing one of these high paying government jobs is close to zero.

I married my spouse and moved to the United States from Canada. Before, I didn't give the US much thought and merely loved travelling to a few of the locations. Having said that, even after spending five years there, I have never witnessed a country and a population as divided as the US. You proudly display your flag, yet you're so racist, illiterate, and a bible-thumper that it disgusts me. The United States is not the most free country in the world, despite what the public believes and thinks. In reality, it is also depressing to observe how the healthcare system handles people. The social safety net is completely missing, and by that I mean that most jobs don't pay for maternity leaves or vacations unless you work at a senior level or for a high-end company. The political system is so rigged that it is understandable why people are tired of voting every two years, and perhaps even every year. Most certainly, especially since your elections begin almost exactly when the previous one finished. I suppose I could go on forever, but I'll stop here. Although Canada is not perfect, is not free from controversy or problems, and is not the best at everything, we are able to concede defeat, acknowledge that someone was wrong or that we might have done better, work together with one another, and express that we are SORRY. Yes, it is a word that is never used in the US, and that is also the issue. I'm pleased to be back in Canada, where I belong, and I regret ever leaving. Yes, returning to Canada feels peaceful and inviting compared to travelling to the US, where every trip involves an interrogation to ensure that you don't remain too long. There is no need to worry because I won't be returning to stay, only visit, as previously.

I’ve travelled to the states many times, vacation/work training/day trips & also my son lived in NC on a golf scholarship & you’re correct that it does depend on the area/place within the US but in the end I’m always relieved when I arrive back to Canada. I feel safe here! Our last trip was to California visiting San Francisco, Monterey & the coast, so beautiful & it was a great vacation. Just to mention the only way that we felt safer going there is because it’s a majority Democratic state. US can be nice to visit but there’s no place like home & Canada is the best for many reasons.

It's simple, if you're well established or okay back home, stay there. Only come for vacation but if not, relocate and plan for your future. As for me, I'm happy to be in Canada. Thank you Canada and God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

I lived in Canada from 1983 to 2016 after I left the US Air Force in '83. I was born in the SF Bay area, and grew up there in the Hippie peace love/Viet Nam era in the 60's and 70's. I now live in Seattle. As we have travelled to San Fran, New Orleans, Nashville, Miami, Vancouver (Canada) and New York in the last 6 months, I kinda have a pretty good idea how it was on both sides of the border way back then, as well as right now. We have 2 rental homes, and I STILL have to work until I'm 70 to retire without worrying about losing it all because of the the high cost of health care. Your observation of race/political/religion relations are naive at best, you need to travel the country first hand to see it. Canada has it's far share of right wing crazies as well. They're mostly not armed, and most fights are 5 minute shouting matches. I know this because I work on construction sites. Canada doesn't have commercials for pharma or ambulance chasers. Because big pharma is kept in check, and with a population slightly smaller than California, frivolous lawsuits would clog the courts. If the PM killed some one on the corner of Yonge and Bloor in Toronto, he'd go to jail. You can get an abortion in Canada. There's a fraction of the Fentanyl crisis happening in Canada, and they have waaayy less homeless in the street. Canada has 2 weeks paid vacation AND paid holidays. The tax rate is higher in Canada, but many of the benefits make up the difference. It's cheaper to buy a house in Seattle than Vancouver. You can get a 30 year mortgage in Washington as well, instead of 5 or 10 years. Good and services tend to be cheaper and more plentiful Stateside. Mail service runs on weekends, it hasn't done that in Canada since the 80's. As it stands, I'm in Seattle right now because it isn't the typical US city by far. But I'm thinking when it comes to retiring, I'm putting Canada on the list. Being a dual citizen also makes me eligible for the other Commonwealth (universal health care) countries like Australia.

All of these points are subjective. I think the point system you used and the subjects you talked about are biased. I would have given the USA a point for innovation and job opportunity. There is more opportunities, because more companies choose the USA. We have a higher population so even thought there is more job opportunities in the USA, it is also very competitive. Your video gave a point to Canada for vacation and maternity leave rather than innovation and job opportunities. A lawyer in the USA has a better chance of practicing law than a Canadian lawyer. You gave a point to Canada for healthcare because of life expectancy. However I’d still give a point to the USA for healthcare. The life expectancy is a separate subject. The life expectancy is lower in the USA because of what we eat here. I would give a point to Canada for healthier food. In the USA fatty diet with sugary sweets is common here.\n\nThe video was really pros and cons for liberals. As an American, I could make a list that is biased towards the USA. If you are liberal in the USA and can handle the cold then Canada is sounds amazing. You guys were spot on with this video. I am Canadian born from Caribbean immigrants and all we've done from jump is work multiple jobs. If you live in Toronto you can't just have one job; even lawyers and engineers have side hustles. My uber drivers are usually tech engineers! Most people usually immigrate to the US after getting their visa because the pay is so much more and the cost of living is lower. An example some jobs I'm looking at in Canada pay $50-$60k base demanding 5 yrs experience with 2-3 wks vacation. In the US the same job pays $75-100k base, unlimited vacation, work from home 2-3 yrs experience! I now live here part time and most of my wealthy friends have moved to the US, Costa Rica or Mexico because the cost of living is too high and it's no longer worth it. No life balance, even working remote you're a slave, the cost of living is outrageous

Wow, I’ve learned a lot about Canada that I didn’t know and I’ve visited Vancouver for one day while vacationing in Seattle WA 20+ years ago. One day most certainly isn’t enough time to get the feel of a place and most definitely not when considering to relocate. I’ve learned not to consider any place for relocation that I couldn’t visit beforehand like I did before relocating to the west coast from the east coast: the world was a friendlier place believe it or not than it is now. ?\n\nConversely, things definitely change over time especially when you’re younger, but I can attest without reservation that people ultimately make a place period: unless you’re a hermit. In fact, we’re looking to relocate at this time and the first priority of consideration is the friendliness of the people wherever that may be, but the world is rapidly changing and not for the better from my perspective. ?\n\nQUESTION EVERYTHING: What Is The Truth (WITT)??? ?. Salams, my African sisters. I loved your informative video it’s very similar to living in the US, where I’m from. Here it is much worse, there is RACISM, CRIME, ect. You would wait 8 hours in hospital but have to pay thousands yourself. The taxes are less here but you spend so much more in healthcare and at work you get one week of vacation and you’re discouraged to take it. The cost of living is high here as well. I love hearing about Canada you are both so beautiful and blessed.

Please stop interviewing these JJC that just recently arrived with no real experience. This is a disservice to people who has actually paid their dues in the country. \n\nListen to the Ghanaian lady and Nigerians. Well, I live in Sweden and I bet we pay more income tax than you do in Canada, some of the taxes goes to health care, unemployment benefits, and your retirement benefits, Every welfare state is expensive, You may get more pay in USA but if you ever get hospitalised, you're in for a rude awakening, you should check, there are many immigrants here in Sweden as well and the weather is pretty much the same as in Canada. We get at least 4 weeks vacation here in Sweden. I'm from ?? and it's natural that after working many years abroad, many choose to go back to their country of origin at some stage, me I go back home to Jamaica ?? as much as I can but still prefer to live in Sweden, I never mind the winter months, I can always travel to a warmer country and continue to enjoy life. The bottom line is that it's your choice what you want to do with your life.

Well done Fifth Estate. The Chinese have completely taken over. I watch the border crossing show sometimes and when they come back from “vacationing “ in China and pretend that they haven’t brought anything with them and when their bags are inspected they have tons of stuff and have way exceeded the limits and they barely get a verbal reprimand. Let me see a Canadian whose family has been here for 9 generations get away with this. They are dishonest, money laundering scam artists. Yet, Canada still welcomes them with open arms. When will the Canadian government wake up? Having them take over this country is an insult to hard working Canadians and other honest immigrants. When they commit a crime of any type they should be deported. They’re always bragging about how rich their country is, then why do they want to come here? We haven’t invaded their country! So illegal immigrant = immigrant?\n\nMy wife is originally from El Salvador (became citizen before I even met her) and I've vacationed there, the gangs are in the bigger cities (San Salvador, San Miguel), the rest of El Salvador is safer than most places in the U.S. The reason why Salvadorians and other Central Americans leave is due to pride, being in the U.S or Canada is an accomplishment, it's a lot of things, it's bragging rights, it's a way to send money back to the family but what it's not is for safety reasons. So them claiming it's because they're scared is complete nonsense.
