Canadians have a real deep down patriotism. We don't scream our country's name at every event, wrap ourselves in our flag, etc. But we adore our country, it's the way best in this big complicated world. We don't feel we must say it all the time because we KNOW it.

I am a Republican leaning American who did not vote for Trump (never voted for him), and I urge every country to stand up to bullying tactics of Trump. I am relatively rich, so this fluctuating market or rising egg prices will not affect me; poorer people than me will be affected greatly. And ironically, these poorer people voted for Trump. I just don't understand it because if I am a poor American, I would have voted for Bernie Sanders because at least the guy has some integrity unlike most politicians. And I am sorry to say I would have voted for Kamala Harris if she were not so dumb. Even though I lean Republican in that my values align more with Republican ideals, I consider whether a candidate has strong integrity and found none in Trump and Kamala Harris.

I think we need to give it time. In a year or two picture should be clear. I don't think tariffs are necessary a bad thing long term if they spike more production of everything or at list anything in US. Short term it would be painful for everybody tho. I effectively spent a chunk of my childhood in America with relatives. I treasured these memories, but now all the feelings of wonder and happiness when thinking of my visits to America have faded. I am a proud Canadian and embrace our sovereignty. We fought in WW2 for two years before the U.S joined our side . Rescued 6 of their diplomats in Iran in 1979. We were at their side in Afghanistan after the horrors of 9/11. Our good people of Gander Newfoundland sheltered, clothed and fed them in that aftermath when their planes were grounded. We sent planes to Los Angeles as did Mexico to fight the wildfires after Trump imposed his tariffs and pushed his annex ideology and making us a 51st state. That was a slap in the face to every soldier who died standing for our country and what we represent. From my heart I thank all of you for your support. Every country should be responsible for their own goods. The day we start relying on other countries for what we need we're in a heck of a mess. Because China couldn't get our merchandise to our plant we had to shut down for almost a month. We messed up sending some of our work to China. After this we got everything in the US. Cheaper prices are not the solution. Cheaper labor is not the answer. Trump is concerned about the drugs coming into our country and since the borders are affected these drugs will be coming into our country many other ways.
