I'm Australian.Back in 1989 Almost died in that dessert outside Agadez.Extremely dehydrated and stuck in a horrendous sandstorm.\nMy death was so close I saw the white light\nAfter being looked after by a French doctor for 2 days I was then trucked to a hospital in Arlit. During that journey it was 51 degrees celsius.\nI was wrapped in blankets and had buckets of water poured over me to refrigerate me.I spent two weeks in that hospital recovering and then I was medically air evacuated to Niamey ->Algiers->Paris.\nWouldn't wish it upon anyone to make that trek. |
