2 years, 10 months ago @kanoraguy Been trucking for 40 yrs and have spent most of my time in the states for the past 20 of those. There’s no way I’d move to the US. I’ll visit and go there for work but I’ll keep my domicile in Canada 3 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @kathryntify God!! You talk too much!! I was interested in the subject but you totally made it impossible to go on listening… 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @WJCTechyman You may have Disney Land (and World) but I live in the original Disney Land which is Huron County, Ontario, Canada as Walt and Roy's dad and grandfather were originally from Bluevale, now Morris-Turnberry Township here in Huron County. Elias Disney went to school in Goderich, my home town (which is now the building housing the Huron County Museum) and Walt Disney confirms this in an interview on CBC Television and so does the Disney Family Museum in California and our Huron County Museum. 24 years ago this summer (July 30, 2023 being the date of this comment) Disney's parade made its way through our town's streets, I was 14 then. The Disney family even has some connected history with our salt mine, the largest operating salt mine on the planet with hoist shafts as deep as the CN tower is tall (roughly 553 m or half a kilometre or less than 1/3 of a Mile) and also had a sawmill, probably close to my first home as a kid outside of Holmesville, Ontario, but I digress.\n\nAs I have stated, I'm Canadian and while I admire some things about your country, I wouldn't live there due to the lack of regulations on firearms (I don't mind people owning guns but they should be qualified and certified with a licence of owning, storing and using them and prohibitions on assault rifles and even semi-automatic weapons) and the lack of universal healthcare. Canada could be doing better as we have those in government trying to privatize our system further and breaking the laws doing it but the Feds aren't really doing anything either. At least we do have healthcare but there are still private systems in place, particularly for optical, dental, pharma and other systems. I also don't care for the American's lack of serious training for police, private prisons and the fact that slavery is alive and well there as well as your politicians' and citizens' insistence on keeping and maintaining capital punishment. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @richardmtl Hell no for me too. Sorry, this must be quite a bummer for ya. I heard of a place in Texas where you can open up a bank account and get a free gun. Nuts! 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @FredZiffel-s2o Why would anyone want to live in the US. 45% think Trump is an honest guy and they sell guns to these people to carry around with them. 2 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @asbjrnknutsen8761 Canada is what the USA would be like if the Republicans Party did not have any power, and political bribery was illegal. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @DonaldHolben No way man, It's sweet up here! 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @terrancesteere3459 I live in Canada and while I don't consider it to be perfect whenever I look south and see what is happening there I am so thankful I live here. Maybe the average US income is higher but a hospital stay could bankrupt you. Housing costs are higher. Poverty is higher. Inequality in distribution of wealth is higher. Number of guns per capita is much higher. Taxes are lower. Average lifespan is lower. Prison population per capita is much higher. You win in so many ways... I guess? 1 O0gJtVar7_E

2 years, 10 months ago @annabelmayo450 Any trip outside the United States will tell you about how few people would want to move to the US if they could live in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, or Europe instead. Probably a whole lot of other places, too. The United States has too many of its citizens living in fear. That’s a culture whose very admirable democratic and social goals are subverted by worshipping aggression and religious extremism, the very things they say they were fighting against in the Middle East and Afghanistan. I know that many Americans feel that way about their country and their fellow citizens but feel powerless to change it and that the plutocracy (which is largely in day-to-day control) seems to block any progress towards a better way of living. 3 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @thrillcker68 No way! I can vacation there but I wouldn’t want to live there. Too many crazies with guns and a lack of health care. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @embacherm Actually small towns often have higher crime rates per capita. So can't move there to be safe 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @michelletothill8551 16:15, You state Canada is smaller than the US. I think you need to take a geography class.\n\nYou glossed over women's lack of reproductive rights. Ignoring the issue, does not make it go away. Can you imagine if the male population was told by women what they can and cannot do with their bodies? \n\nWhy do Americans accept that schools can teach incorrect information in sex ed classes? 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @karima_MK Living in the US ? No thanks. Many others here explained why: unfunded educational system, no Healthcare, guns accessible, individualistic mentality, bankruptcy, no social justice, religious believes that are dangerously implemented, systemic racism... even for Holliday I wouldn't dare to go to most places. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @karencoulombe7412 Born and raised in a small town in Ontario. Have lived in Alberta for the last 40 years. Love our country and have never even considered living in any other country. ❤️?? 6 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @BobbieC705 Absolutely not…never. When I travelled there to check on my husband’s rental properties (yes, he is a Canadian who owns properties in the U.S.) I was always surprised at our employees, tenants, who treated us as second class citizens, as “CrazyCanucks”, and mostly, incredulous that we could actually legally own American companies….and yes, we paid all taxes due. \nThe U.S. is a beautiful country but, unfortunately, all too often, there is a superiority attitude that permeates every exchange…a we (Americans), vs them (Canadians) approach. As with many other Canadians we knew who had businesses in the U.S., our experience as Canadians doing business in the U.S., was also theirs. \nI will end by acknowledging that I know many beautiful & amazing Americans that I have come to love and immensely respect. I also have Canadian relatives who live in the U.S. and have dual citizenship. I respect them, therefore respect their decision to make the U.S. their home. \nLast but not least, the U.S. rarely acknowledge us, Canadians, as their neighbour, their political ally and they always mention other countries as allies but very rarely acknowledge Canada as an important one. \nI LOVE Canada and all that it stands for. ❤️??❤️ I will always stay in Canada. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @FlowerBot So bizarre that you say 'most people will be ok with health care from their job' .. when the XXX hits the fan health-wise, the job is the first thing to go, then what ... all it does is tie people to their employer, another way for employers to impose servitude .. and its so expensive that people delay seeing the doctor and that can make health issues much worse before care is sought. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @dspirit444 Ummmmm, if you want access to a doctor and regular health care move to the US or get real acquainted w Urgent Care Centers while you wait months to years to find a provider accepting patients in Canada...pleeeeze!! 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @nancynewman6592 My American husband and I moved to Los Angeles from Montreal, because of the fact there was still a lot of live music compared to other places. It was a great 17 years of music but guns started to be more of an issue. Health care was big, and was going to affect us soon, and then tRUmp came in . We knew that the changes were NOT going to be for better health care, or better gun laws, or better immigration policies, and we moved back to Canada. Now we don't even want to visit because of the current situation re all the aforementioned issues. I wouldn't dream of moving back. And numerous friends have asked how can they get into Canada. The Canadian immigration site crashed when tRump won. if not married to a Canadian, most people would be rejected. i appreciate our system of government; tRump would have been tossed out early on with a Vote of No Confidence. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @angiedefreitas5060 Canadian here with many friends in the US. Daughter married an American and he immigrated to Canada last year after he finished his military service. The original plan was that she would join him in the States for a few years before he got out. Once Trump was elected and the USA went bat-crap crazy with the war on women's rights, the lgbtq+ community and truth and justice for all (not just those with money or power) she told her husband she'd wait for him up here. It's a big fat no thank you. Y'all have lost your way; broke your moral compass and feel that it's okay to trample on the rights of others. 2 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @supergirl0526 I used to love visiting the States, especially Vermont. The political climate seems so extreme now that I have no interest in even visiting. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @ractenor I would NEVER move to the US- ANYWHERE - between the batshit crazy, political (fascist)-racist-religious fanaticism, crappy private education in many jurisdictions not to mention the guns and the absolutely disgusting attitude towards healthcare (it is only good for some things, doesn't include a lot of what we get covered here in Canada and if you lose your job, you lose your coverage). The ONLY good thing the US has in advantage over Canada is the currency exchange and there isn't enough of everything else in the US to make up for that! 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @germancamacho3944 I was born in Lima Peru at the age 21 moved to the Canada Toronto was my first home and I lived there for 17 years ,but the Canadian winter was wearing me out , so I moved to Vancouver and my partner and I opened a video rental that last me for 24 years until the end of vídeos rental in the meantime I started to invest in real estate , I bough 2 condominium apartment one is a penthouse with roof garden , them 250.000 dólares back in 1994, same year I bought the second apartment for 175.000 dollars 28 years later that investment have increased to 2’200.000.00 dollars I lived all my life in Canada I am now 77 years old in good health, now as a Canadian citizen feel very proud to be Canadian and never consider moving anywhere I am very happy where I am, and I am sure many Canadian feel the same eh 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @aprilporter6092 Resounding NO.\nGuns, violence, no healthcare, arrogance and ignorance of the rest of the world (I too would be bankrupt in the US) just off the top of my head. Not to mention not having personal agency over my body. We have paid vacation in most jobs, sick leave, etc. We have just about everything the US has (plenty of opportunities and education too - just no Disneyland) The US seems to have blinders on in regards to how other developed countries work. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @lcg5790 I'm Canadian and I would move to certain places in the US, but not all, the same as I think of places in Canada. I love and respect that the States are or were the beacon for democracy and freedom of religion and speech. The world has benefitted so much from the freedoms outlined in your constitution but which are now under such extreme pressure to collapse. Canadians on a whole are too lazy and comfortable to fight for what is right. So sad. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @evadd2 #1 cost of bankruptcy in the US...healthcare. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @evadd2 Starbucks, MacDonalds and large drinks? Genius, we've had them just as long as you. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @rhmarinos I would move to Florida 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @Country5871 Canadian here - I've lived and worked in NYC and graduated university from Gonzaga in Spokane. I wish the US won the war of 1812 and Canada was part of America. I think Trump is unpleasant but Trudeau is worse. The legal system here sucks. The RCMP are soldiers not police. I'd move to the US in a heartbeat. I like the gun laws there and hunting wild pigs down south would be fun. Maybe I will one day spend more time there. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @kca3kids1 I’m so sad that you think it’s where you choose to live in the US that keeps you safe from gun violence. I guess that’s how people who have to live there stay positive. Uvalde has 15k people and on and on every day in small and big town America. The problem is weapon access and lack of regulation and a fetish on guns that the US has. In Canada I can live virtually anywhere and be safe. We’re far from perfect ourselves but I don’t even feel safe visiting the US Wild West anymore. No thanks. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @gabygaedecke2411 Very entertaining segment. I am particularly amused /impressed with your willingness to acknowledge U.S. issues with such candor - I think we Canucks might get defensive. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @martyatherfold9408 I have travelled to the States for work and occasional vacations but there is no possible chance that I would leave Canada to take up residence there. My vacations are now taken in Canada only. One of the most beautiful countries one will ever see. 22 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @arniewilliamson1767 Ted Kennedy once said on a Canadian radio station that “The American dream is alive and well and living in Canada” 17 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @arniewilliamson1767 Problem with the US is the deductibles and dollar limits on care and if you can’t afford to pay, you die. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @eastexotic We have Earthquakes drills in school, not mass-murder shooting drills in Canada. The first time I even touched a gun was to study for my gun license exam. I honestly felt really uncomfortable. I understand some Canadians shoot long-guns for hunting and lifestyle. I respect those people living in rural Canada. Things aren't perfect here, but I feel a sense of comfort and security here that I feel no where else. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @johnnyv5995 Most Canadians would move to USA....for a few months to escape the weather(if they could afford it), but 'for good' - no way. Truly no benefits for a Canadian to do so. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @lucgagnon5241 Hey man ! You should travel a bit. There are McDonald's all around the world. Starbucks too. The main problem is not the place (US), the problem is people who live in your country. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @bladed.i.6547 The USA can be a nice place to visit, and I have a lot of friends and family there. But I would never move to the States from Canada. Starting with health care and winding through a ton of social rights issues, there is no comparison. We're not perfect, we all have work to do, but the US is scary for more than a visit .... 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @dedefitzpatrick4092 Guns and crime and Trump and no abortion and burning books and creationism and Fox News and superiority are just the tip of my resounding NO!!!!! 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @missee7951 No offence, Canadians do not want Americans moving here. And NO! Would never in a million years move to the States. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @Fritz999 I happen to be Canadian and have been asked to move to the USA.\nMy answer: no effing way!\nI have no wish to be ruled by religion and church.\nThere can be no doubt, if honesty prevails, that the USA is a church ridden country.\nEverywhere I look, I see religious stupidity galore.\nThe impossibility they believe in, drives me away at the highest possible speed. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @ShaunnaMireau The USA is the last place I would move to if I left Canada. The threats to democracy, patriarchal cronyism, the disrespect for the idea of a social safety net, the general belief that billionaires are a good thing for society…and the safety and security and bodily autonomy for women and marginalized communities. Never. I even avoid visiting these days. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @Ohmeow_im_ari I would 100% go to the us for vacation even for a whole month, but it’s a big NO to move over the border. \n\nReasons why: \n\n1. Guns at legal, and to buy at Walmart (like what the heck you can buy a gun at Walmart?). You can get shot for ringing the wrong doorbell or for parking at the wrong house.?\n\n2. The criminality is crazy (I’ve watched a lot of true crime over the 6-7 years and one of the conclusions I’ve made is that it’s mostly in the US. And the number of murders is insane.)\n\n3. Health care fees… do I need to say more?\n\n4. Racism (I know it’s everywhere, but it’s crazier in the US, nobody can tell me otherwise).\n\n5. Women rights. (I think this should’ve been already worked out for a long time now)\n\n6. The home of 99% of Karens (US Karens are a harmful specie that ceases to increase. I needed to add this one) 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @cannibal5layer157 Ya tabarnak is taking the Lord's name in Vien in french there's no real french word for modern swear words that we use 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @cathyt4939 hell..naw! heathcare system fail, education system fail, justice system fail... political system fail... 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @nickknight5543 I personally have nothing against the U.S.A. The majority of countries around the world do not like the U.S.A. and would never consider moving there. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @trudyfong2826 I don’t even want to visit the US. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @MegaRickmann Ive watched many of yourvideos...I gotta say the fact that you wouldnt deal with the woman who validly listed her reproductive rights being threatened is another reason not to move to the US 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 10 months ago @K9Coady Tyler, stop glossing over the U.S.'s horrid gun culture and especially the school and mass shootings.\n\nThe bizarre obsession with guns is the U.S.'s Achilles heel. The gun issue is a totally relevant and significant deterrent to moving to and even just visiting the U.S.\n\nI'm so glad I live in Canada! It's not perfect but it's a strong, beautiful country. The U.S. has a long way to go before it can compete with my home. ?? ❤ 0 O0gJtVar7_E
