2 years, 8 months ago @BlacqueJacqueShellacque_ I'm American and spend at least a month in Canada each summer. Maybe a grass is greener situation, but Canada seems better in almost every way. One thing is for sure, the people in Canada are a lot nicer than Americans. 24 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @sharonroot7310 I am Canadian. In 1961 I had a baby girl. In those day you had to stay in the hospital for 5 days. It didn't cost me anything. Then in 1962 I had a baby boy. Same thing; 5 days, no cost. In the early 70's I had to be in hospital to have all of my wisdom teeth removed. No cost. Then in the mid 80's I had major surgery and several days in hospital. No charge. Now that I am in my 80's and very healthy, I get a yearly check up. No charge. I love Canada. 22 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @coco9004 Peoples across Canada except Quebec and Maritime cannot afford anymore to rent a room or an apartment or even buy a house. Peoples here who put comment are not honest,, some of them 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @2727rogers 10 or 15 minuets wait time in Emergency in the US. More like 10 to 15 hours here in Canada. Saying that I still would rather have our system because after you see the doctor you won't be in debt. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @dennisheyes4561 23:06... Our politics is more chill in Canada. Largely because having 5 different parties in the house means they need to co-operate more with each other to get stuffs done. That is not to say that we do not have a MAGA Republican wannabe party in the Conservatives (that can technically win power majority seats with only 18-22% of the total vote) but even if elected. They would still more than likely need help from other parties to pass any kind of terrible legislation. \n\nNot to mention our laws still need Royal assent. Meaning that if the King's Representative (Governor General) Someone not actually affiliated with any political party, decides that Parliament have gone nutty. They can just refuse to sign it (effectively a veto), or they can even dissolve Parliament and force another election. 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @jasongreek2342 I have a good friend who spent a good many years living and working in the US. He summed it up as being very similar in many ways, with some frustrating drawbacks, but overall it was far better in many ways. Don't beat yourself up. We might have a few things going for us, but those who have the will and determination to pull their weight have a far better shot in the US. \n\nRemember that. Americans get out of America what they put into it. Canadians get what they get out of Canada no matter what. If you like the feeling of the reward of hard work and perseverance, you're only limited in America by your own ambition. If you like the comfort and safety of a network of social systems, then Canada is the place to be. On the flip side, if you want to have the peace of mind that the government will take care of you if you can't take care of yourself, then don't go to the US. If you're ambitious and creative and want to work hard at making something of yourself, Canada will crush your hopes and dreams like a bug. 2 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @2727rogers Americans always say our health care is a better quality than Canadas. I will say back to them we don't have people dying in Canada because they can't afford health care. No point having top quality health care if it is denied to people who don't have insurance and are not covered by the Government. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @ShawnHCorey The booze is cheap in US because there is little tax on it. In Canada, most of the taxes on booze goes to the provincial gov't and pays for such things as health care. Health care is not free; it is paid for by taxes.\n\nThis is a general tendency of Americans: they hate taxes. Which is why their safety net is so small. 3 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @nickfoster9350 The US is great at some things, and not so, at others. Just like Canada, and every other country in the developed world, there is always room for improvement. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @celticlass8573 WOW that's amazing you have a co-pay to see your doctor. Never in my life have I ever paid a penny for any doctor's visit, no matter what it was. 2 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @kirk90212 Upstate New York isn’t NYC. It’s the part of the state north of the city 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @celticlass8573 So what happens if you have a baby in the US and DON'T have insurance, or a way to pay? 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @michelegyselinck5400 Having to pay out of pocket for surgery depends on what province you're from. The way the system is implemented varies from one province to the next. 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @barbarahicks2927 I used to spend 6 months a year during the winter in US. While in the US I had a stroke... two days in the hospital would have cost me $25,000 but luckily my Canadian insurance covered it. Everyone in the south seemed to own a gun, and they couldn't conceive of the idea that I didn't want one... I didn't need one... I didn't want to see theirs. The day Trump got elected we put a FOR SALE sign on our trailer and never went back. I would rather spend winters in Mexico... I feel safer there and the medical system is affordable. 44 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @michelegyselinck5400 That's just the problem. I can't afford to pay for health care. And I don't have to. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @MonkMovold I did not enjoy living in United States even my friends were arrogant thinking everybody wanted to be American. I did not want to be American. I just needed to be there for a while. 1:58 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @plasticonion We've had 2 kids in Canada with no insurance and it costs us nothing. So any amount seems too much to me 2 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @michelegyselinck5400 Today I went to a drugstore and got two vaccines and didn't have to pay a penny. 2 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @sjmckee1609 Rich people in Canada get priority treatment too, just in a different way. They make a donation to the hospital... 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @plasticonion I have lived in or near Toronto my whole life and I should be able to recognize your accent and where you are from... but I can't, so, where are you from? 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @sharonnormandeau6818 The person who paid out of pocket in Toronto is likely because they are no longer a Canadian resident and doesn't pay taxes...therefore must pay for his own healthcare. It would be reinstated after a certain amount of time back LIVING in Canada, not visiting 2 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @biffstrong1079 I had friends who moved to the US in their job. The property values in Houston were lower so they got a much nicer house. They had a a great job and really good Health insurance through work. They enjoyed houston. The people they worked with were good. The weather was great. One couple is still down there. The others moved back in ten years. I think their experience was very equivalent to the one they had in Canada and the move advanced their career. If i was moving to the uS I'd want/need to have a very good job I was going to. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @michelegyselinck5400 What about if the insurance company refuses to pay for your treatment? Then you're up shit creek without a paddle. 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @JohnHollands Listen to you, correcting people. So American of you. 2 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @andrewcasselman2297 Canadian government PAYS you to have children. So do most educated countried. Also, we pay you a monthly aloownence per child until they;re 18. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @dennisheyes4561 My Grandparents sold their second house in Florida because of the fear of an unexpected medical emergency that might happen while they were down there for the winter. Honestly... this may be the reason for the decline of Florida over the past 20 years... Simply less Canadians that spend time down there brightening the lives of the locals with their annoyingly optimistic selves. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @blessedveteran Every city I have lived in within the states have had ER waits of multiple hours... have you ever been to the ER?\n\nAlso, our healthcare is talked about in our politics. Please, if you want better access to healthcare vote for those who want that too! 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @SomeNerdOutThere That difference in childbirth is crazy. The one time my wife got pregnant (in Ontario), we had regular medical checks throughout, a mid-wife, and two or three days in the hospital for the birth with no cost. Add to that the several months of parental leave for both parents, and contrast is shocking. 28 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @jasongreek2342 I want to mention as im seeing it, the comparison between our healthcare systems really needs to be taken in context. Ours costs less. But both of our healthcare systems rank extremely poorly compared to many other countries.\n\nWe're number 32, you're number 69. If it were the difference between, like, number 1 and number 2 or even arguing over spots in the top ten, that'd be a matter of national pride. But, my god, we should both be embarrassed as countries. 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @CaptureAVtube What’s wrong with your eyes and your voice? Weird! ???? 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @dennisheyes4561 The person that invented co pay... Milburn Pennybags 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @jaydiemert1773 Moving to the States. I don't think so. I won't even risk going on vacation there because I am not bulletproof. 2 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @barbhusband941 It is FREE in B.C. and a 12 month 80% salary for Mom. The company plus government foot the bill. 2 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @waynejones5635 The United States is somewhat confusing to Canadians, as we are aware of the United States through interrogation of American media in Canada, with access to US TV channels and news networks. Yet we don't fully appreciate the differences until we live fulltime in the US and yup the it is significantly different in some distinct ways.\nWith that said we pay co-pay for doctor visits in Norway for the first 2000 kroner, which helps reduce abuse of the Norwegian healthcare system. After you pass the 2000 kroner, you get a free card for the rest of the year. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @tomvanderschilden6636 I love it in America. I have many American friends. Every country has its pros and cons. Thanks for the video. 4 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @brendamiller5785 If I Iived in the US and everything was okay with my pregnancy, I'd give birth at home with my sister's help - No Question ....Women did it this way for hundreds/thousands of years. ????? 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @guillaumerobillard3694 Police in Québec must study for 5 years before they work..that why we don't trust usa cops: they are just random guy whit gun compared to us 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @Brian1Graves I couldn't live in a country where, almost daily, someone gets assaulted or shot simply for waving a finger at another person. 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @ZenWithKen I've traveled extensively through the US. It is a beautiful country only surpassed by the amazing people. Would I live there, no. Is Canada better? Well, we're not afraid of helping one another through taxation. Socialism is not communism, it's just where you pay that changes. Do you have the ability to opt out of paying....well sure, don't work, lol. Thanks Tyler! Your content is enjoyed and appreciated. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @georgejulien3286 I’m Canadian and lived in the US a few different times, I’m moving permanently soon. Canada is going downhill so fast. 3 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @twistedfrannie9311 More than likely the person who paid $10,000. to give birth probably had a cesarean section....it's surgery. 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @harveyparker-b8e I would say both Countries have advantages , and disadvantages alike . Dental care in Canada is not covered by the Government Universal Health care plan , and is Grossly overpriced , can not get even simple antibiotics without first Visiting a Doctor . Wait times in Hospital Emergency is sometimes 24 Hours or more , unless you are Dying on the Floor . To sum it up , Canada is a much better place to live for low income people , and people on Public assistance . US is a Much better place to live if you have a successful business , or High Income Job. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @echobeefpv8530 You are better dead than poor in the USA. Your politics are entertainment, and very destressing. No matter which side you are on, about 50% of the people hate you. There is no middle ground, meanwhile your children die more from gunshot than anything else. You have made law and order a business, incarnating more citizens than any other country in the world. You have made medical a business as well, again , better dead than poor in the USA. \n I have meet some fine US people, the general population is not that much different from Canadians. The people are not the government, either, they are just people. \n I don't hate, or even dislike the USA, I just feel they have a system in place that doesn't really represent the average citizen. One thing I would love to see in the US is a third political party, more middle of the line. Something is needed to pull America back together again. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @howardhales6325 I'm surprised there weren't more comments about racism. I haven't been south in years, but racism was so prevalent it was one of the main things I remember about going there. There was a beach in Milwaukee where the white people used the sandy area and the black people used the rocky area. There were no signs saying who belonged where, but it was obvious all the local people knew the score. Racism exists in Canada, especially with the first nations people, but it doesn't dominate your experience as a visitor the way it did for me in the US. 7 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @JudyPitcher Your healthcare system, your prison system, your pharma system is all for profit. Canada negotiated with pharmaceutical companies for lower prices and because of that Americans are coming to buy their drugs in Canada. We've actually had to restrict the purchases of medication if you don't have a Canadian address. AND poor people in Canada can still see a doctor or go to hospital without going bankrupt. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @CaptHollister I am a self-employed professional, I consider myself very well paid. On the down side, I have endocrinological issues which in turn cause hart and kidney problems. I've had a couple of long(ish) hospital stays in the past 18 months in addition to one major and one minor surgeries. All this to say that despite my high income, I could never afford to live South of the Canada/Us border. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @Ray-ej3jb How can you know how crap your country actually is unless you can compare it to other western countries. America is clearly broken and dysfunctional but how keep getting told it's the best and you lot believe the crap (propaganda). 0 zJycj8c73sQ

2 years, 8 months ago @michelle3830 Possible 2-3 day Amazon delivery compared to same day or over nite in a lot of US; incredible political upheaval & seeming US people tolerance for this (really worrying) and gun reform, oh no I mean no action . Will all this happen in Canada?\nPossibly, but “heh” lots of room here to hide! 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @Progressive_Canadian Americans expect their government to protect them and that's about all. Canadians expect their government to take care of them as well as protect them. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
