2 years, 11 months ago @Nollamadramas Well, you said it. On the gun violence topic that it seems that Americans are desensitized to how much gun violence is happening. It does happen in big urban areas but also rural areas. This is what the world sees of America and their love of guns. Too much money in that industry for it to ever change. I mean, if nothing has changed when those babies.....let that sink in. When those babies at Sandy Hook died, the parents were bullied threatened and basically disrespected and discredited but gun lobbyists, government and even the average American. If that tragic event didn't change anything....nothing will. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @lintroller09 The usa is number one in gun deaths. Since 1953 103,000 service members have died during war. In the past 3 years over 150,000 civilians have died from guns in their own country. usa is a nightmare country to move to. Of the 30+ first world nations that have national healthcare usa isn’t on that list. How fucked up is that? 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @alshirley3444 As a Canadian with American relatives, NO, HUGE NO.\n\nI would move to Australia, namely Tasmania or Iceland. I would move to those places in a heartbeat. 0 O0gJtVar7_E

2 years, 11 months ago @SBel65 Children being slaughtered in their classroom is not something anyone should ever “come to terms with” ? 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @samanthafraser8187 As a Canadian I’m sorry to say I’d pick most anywhere in the world over the USA. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @deadrop6647 and in terms of the school shooting sitution keep in mind there hasn't been a gun death in under 12 school in over 20 years in canada 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @CadenzaVvi Healthcare, education, gun situation, LGBTQ+ rights, abortion rights, environment, ... Some of the reasons why I would never ever want to move to the US. It's fine for vacation, nothing more. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @deadrop6647 i think most Americans who are very defensive of their country have never traveled outside of the use when they dont know how much better most countries are 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @ntfespolion3079 Even if we dont see a lot of school shooting in Canada, it still happen, and gun where still legal in Canada not long ago so yeah. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @patriciabrandt490 I enjoy vacations in the USA and have visited about half of the States. It's an awesome place to visit but the best part alway is coming back home to Canada. PS I have a lot of American friends and I love them all ..to me they are no different than my Canadian friends. 3 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @maryloulauren8108 I ‘ve met so many Americans on trips and through living in San Francisco for 3 months for a course. They were very kind, thoughtful and knowledgeable people. I also love many beautiful places in the States. I find though, that the media ignores Canada to a great degree only reporting negative issues . I don’t care for the super nationalism of the government, the gun laws, the many wars they’ve been involved in, nor do I like the racism and the present divisiveness of the country given that a person like Trump could be voted in and have so much power! That is frightening! I could never have afforded my two hip and knee replacements as well as other surgeries and the birth of four children had I lived there consequently, I would make friends with Americans who move here withthe same principles, but no to moving to the United States OF America.I was happy to return to beautiful Vancouver Island, (which was voted one of the top Islands in the world by CNN, Time magazine and Conde Nast, ) 7 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @norwolf4765 I went to University in the states and lived there for a time, but since coming back to Canada I would never ever want to live in the states again. Canada is a much friendlier and safer country not to mention health care. It is when you get old down there that you are in jeopardy. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @HyperFire I'd move to the US if I could get citizenship.\n- a canadian 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @kjbowden449 I used to go there a lot for my work but now I'm retired there's no way I would. I won't even visit. I didn't even like going for work. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @cgcosh3967 I was never interested in moving to the States but I think my reasons are different then most.\n\nStarting in my teens, I couldn’t understand why anyone would willingly live somewhere you couldn’t wander in the wilderness without worrying about things like poisonous snakes and poisonous bugs. I couldn’t understand what was so great about swimming in the sea if you have to worry about what part of the beach and how far out you go. How can swimming be fun? Lakes and rivers are much better. \n \nWhen I got older, I couldn’t understand how anyone could enjoy summer when the sun goes down so early in the evening. I left Vancouver, BC partially because the summer days are shorter then home and the winters are too dark. Even on an overcast night in winter up here, the light reflects off the snow and makes the night brighter. Do I like -30C or colder when it happens? No. I can’t walk the dogs because their feet might freeze but they’re idiots and will wrestle in the house if I don’t.\n\nNow that I’m almost 60, I note that all of my American cousins who had duel citizenship have moved back to Canada upon retirement where the conversation rate makes their pensions worth more and after 3 months they qualify for BC medical.\n\nThe guns, healthcare, right wing “Christians”, loss of human rights and potential for violence are why I don’t want my daughter to ever move there. 2 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @raccoon874 *28 MASS MURDERS in the 1st half of 2023 in USA. 4+ a month.* 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @lori-annlevenec3770 I would not, could not, EVER accept that some @$$hat felt the need to open carry any calibre of weapon to stand in line to order a soft ice cream. \n\nTyler, do you have any idea how obscene this image is to people from anywhere else in the world? I’d not even be able to imagine that scenario if I lived in a nation under siege but your nation just lives this way for shits and giggles. \n\nIt’s not normal. It’s not acceptable. \nWho would chose it, never mind just accept it.\n\nAlso, your experience that there are plenty of areas in the US that are “golly gosh, safe as can be”, could that maybe be that you don’t fit the profile of someone who wouldn’t be so fortunate to find safety and comfort…do you really believe that a small town in the US would be the first place someone of colour, or who flies that LGBTQ flag proudly, would also chose to move to so that they could feel just as comfortable and safe?? We have small towns, too…they like things to stay the same. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @isi2isi67 The real elephant in the room is the cost of housing in Canada 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @zigzag00 As a Canadian I apologize if you feel a little offended by our comments, we love our neighbors down south ??‍? 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @martinbaird1406 American attitudes are not welcome in Canada 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @stevegoad4133 In 2017 I was hiking on the Pacific Crest Trail in southern California at a group campsite at mile 454 and a large group of us long distance hikers were gathered around a campfire. One person asked everyone to say what is your favorite thing about the trail so far. Some said scenery, others said meeting new people, fellowship, challenge etc. Then one young woman said there are no Ni--ers on the trail. My brain rattled! How could someone walk 454 miles through desert, forest and snow topped mountains and come up with that? Then what shook me even more was not just the muted agreement with that, why are there are so many foreigners here? They did not know that I was Canadian. Most of them were young, recent college graduates. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @mark4938 America has some nice things going for it. There are a couple places that I think would be alright. Colorado and the Pacific Northwest sound interesting. Not sure what would make me leave family and friends behind to do it though. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @paulagwhyte1720 Your Insurance is a couple hundred a month? THAT is too much! No way would I move! And I've had operations and NOTHING costs anything when you go to the hospital no matter what you have or need!! I'd like to meet you, Tyler, but I could NOT move to the States, your gov't is awful too! Sorry, don't mean to be rude. Too many right-wing nuts as well. Too many anit-2SLGTBQIA+ people and legislation! NO way. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @reaperofbloodmoon ???????????? hell no because i dont want to end up gone missing 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @lesroy4902 Tyler you are oblivious to what happens in the US which is obvious by your reaction I think you should explore more about your own country. It seems to me Canadians know more about US history past and present, your politics, religious zealots, bigotry, racism, the list goes on. By the way the number one cause of death for children in the US is guns you might want to explore that. Going around living in your personal bubble isn't helping you realize the issues in the US and around the world. The best way for change to happen is to vote in people who will work towards it at the local, state and federal level. Everything is not political it's just groups who have pushed it in that direction. The US is not the same country I visited many times years ago. Would I have ever moved there...a resounding NO 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @erikaplante-jean7745 I'm sure you could have the same responses from USians if we ask them if they would move to Canada 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @SchnuffiJames Move! I wouldn't even visit. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @mr.nonamanadus4463 No way. One thing people failed to mention is how often citizen's voting rights are suppressed. The whole system is politicized, gerrymandering is real. \n\nNot to mention the politics in the judicial system that extends all the way to the Supreme Court. The fact that key instigators of the Jan 6th failed coup are still walking free and one is even able to run for president is extremely disturbing. \n\nAs much as I hate the current government here and know how little my region's votes count I have at the least some comfort knowing we have an impartial overseer of the election process. \n\nDown south they are one election away from a 1984 situation. If Big Brother doesn't like what you do in the privacy of your own home expect the state to intervene. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @anisebbbbs My kids have never had an active shooter drill in school. I can’t even fathom how that could become normal to anyone. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @edmarth1899 In the US a pit bull kills a person an average of once every twelve days. I’ll stay in Ontario where they are banned. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @greg6500 Would I move to 1933 Germany? Same question and fuck no. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @savinasuits-kd4ts Is Sandyhook in a bad neighbourhood? 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @integralmalfunction I could see myself adapting to any part of the world. I love visiting the USA! Such a beautiful country, just like Canada. The food is outstanding and cheap! The people are friendly and outgoing! I would move there if I had a valid reason to. I'm happy living in Canada and satisfied just visiting various places across the US. It's always a treat! 6 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @savinasuits-kd4ts The fact that you can buy a gun and booze in the same store are absolutely ridiculous 196 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @savinasuits-kd4ts I understand you wanting to “stick up” for you country but Americans and guns are not something we understand, I consider the Americans love of guns mental illness, that is the reason we didn’t move, my husband had a job opportunity and he turned it down because of the kids and healthcare. “Would you want the kids going through metal detectors at school?” Your comments show your ignorance still after all these videos \nRidiculous 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @georgesmiley1474 Most of the Canadians with guts and brains have already left, the remains are authoritarian socialist losers. Enjoy the decline, it’s over for Canada. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @davemacmurchie6982 It's staggering to hear you say you're surprised that Canadians would worry about their kids' safety if they had to go to school in the US - have you not been paying attention?\n\nOf course it's not just school - there are mass shootings everywhere, currently averaging more than one per day in 2023. Does that really not register? 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @sergelevesque2718 Don't listen to the naysayers... I am moving to the US next month and I CAN'T WAIT to get out of Canada! Everything you buy is too expensive, and that's AFTER the tax rate which is nothing short of grand robbery. Health Care was already abysmal with waitlists over a year for certain procedures, but in the last 3 years it fell apart even further. Crime is on the rise everywhere and government just releases everyone regardless of public risk (read into Saskatchewan mass shooting from last year).\n\nI am set to make $20,000 more in salary, without even taking exchange rate into account, and that is going from Vancouver which has among the highest salary average in Canada to a small American country side town. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @SolSteal Just to let you know some Canadians are Considering Moving to the US or Europe Since Justin Trudeau is turning Canada it to a Totalion Dictator Ship with Killing off the homeless, Low-income people and some low-middle income people in favor of Mid-Middle income people and Higher. Also not correcting businesses that level White Males out in the Rain in Favor of Immigrants. Canada is on the verge of a Civil war if things keep going as they are. So far where I live they have ben 5 Massive fight between Borne Canadians and Immigrants. Where the Police side with the Immigrants and Beat the Borne Canadians with exception to borne Canadians who are Mid-Middle income and Higher. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @exsenator1 I was born in El Salvador. I have a lot of family in the USA. At the worst moment in El Salvador's situation with the gang violence I would always prefer to go back to El Salvador if I had to leave Canada 3 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @bobbiedriscoll5090 Not a chance, your justice system is crazy, your politics are insane, your health care is way too expensive. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @TheStann Canadians have easy access to guns as well, we're in the top 10 of countries with the most guns per capita. It's not the easy access that's scary to us, it's that Americans can't seem to stop shooting each other. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @waynejones5635 While politically crazy... the US will always have better climate, which makes it a great place for Canadians to visit. ? 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @Piranah420 You object to bat-shit crazy people in politics in the USA and racism? MGT, Trump, Santos just to name a few bat shit crazy. Why would a Canadian want to live in a country that put these types of people in power to begin with lol 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @paulbaskerville2748 Had two minor surgery's in 2 days paid 0 hard to beat . Ripped my acilies sean doctor had 3 exrays and amri same day payed 0 seen dr got a appointment a hour later for a electro encelerograph pad 0 prescriptions are cheaper. ? 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @Mapledubz Moving to the USA. Can’t afford to live in Canada anymore. Plus lack of healthcare access, terrible justice system where criminals thrive in. No thanks. Bye bye Canada! 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @georgesmiley1474 Alberta should separate from authoritarian fascist Canada. A real constitution and bill of rights is required. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
