In visa division of consulate general of india to newyork, theres a counter for people to submit the phones and get a token, before they enter the respective divisions... They took the phone with them, and they are recording the whole thing. Embassies and consuls are sensitive places and have security concerns. You cant take your little phine and record. The officer must have politely asked her to take away the phone. If she does as the officer adviced her, she may not even have the phone to record the situation right. Someone in the comments mentioned, selective journalism. It fits well. |

Ppl who r supporting officer either have not faced such incidences in Indian embassies. Embassy has 24X7 recording of embasies. If officer was so right, they should have released that cctv recording as well. This is proper baabu culture of India which not only happens in Indian embassies but also every govt. office is full of such baabus. |

Officer losing his cool or whatever maybe the case, I believe every sovereign nation is in its own right to deny entry to its territory be it citizen or a non-citizen without any reason. There are instances where visa was outright denied without any reason. |
