5 years, 3 months ago @momovaryacting8798 Is this the future American circumstance due to upcoming caravans & Bidens welcome packets for immigrants? I can’t help but wonder what catastrophic effects it will have in the long run. They mention Canadá has been back logged due to all the asylum applicants. Biden is making it easier for Latin American countries by putting an asylum center close to them. This way they don’t make the trip to the port of entry to claim asylum 0 ONjCMzB_FPw
5 years, 3 months ago @razorsharp8549 So after working 15 years in the U.S. he didn't save a dime, yet he can scrap up 15 thousand dollars for legal fees to fight his case I Canada? After all this he still refuses to go back to his country of origin. 0 ONjCMzB_FPw
5 years, 3 months ago @silossilos1927 All these displaced people because politicans rather give false hope for votes 0 ONjCMzB_FPw
5 years, 3 months ago @bobbyadamo152 I didn't hear anything about what he was seaking refuge from. Was it economic ? Refugee status is not for economic reasons. And what Canadian is on an unemployment line that would be able to feed his family with the job he took, illegally ? 1 ONjCMzB_FPw
5 years, 4 months ago @seekingeudaimonia6884 I know it won’t be easy but, Toronto has a lot of resources for immigrants and even undocumented immigrants. I worked for a shelter and although it was the only one that takes undocumented families, you learn there are resources out there. \nIt’s about aligning yourself with the right community support Center, finding the people who will fight for you. There are so many people here who welcome and want to help all types of immigrants. No matter your background.\nThe people who work helping these communities they are ruthless in their fight for citizenship, or at least finding you a job and home, they will guide you through the system. Social workers, ones in community resource centres, not government centres, will be your best friend. They know where the red tape is and the resources available to you. \nYou could even go to a specific shelter to t all out your options and where you could go to get help.\nI understand this is not ideal. \nBut, if you want to be here, your best friends are non-profits, finding a center that aligns with your story, your background, because they will fight for you. We have people here from every country and resource centres geared towards your own language, religion etc.\nAnother big way to set yourself up for success. Churches, rich churches to be specific. \nMy mom works in a very rich church and it helps them feel better about themselves helping people, you could be nice enough to alleviate their guilt through their wallets, and connections. Under the table work, shelter, space for your family, set you up, they might even have the lawyers you need pro Bono in those rich churches. Church shopping, do not be above it if you don’t have resources. You don’t just get help, you build a community and support system through a common bond, the church. \nI know these aren’t revolutionary tips, but without specifics of your background it’s hard (for me specifically) to give specific advice online as to what services could be provided for you.\nIt’s kind of like a doctors appointment. You need background info to diagnose the resources for you and how to access that help. 0 ONjCMzB_FPw

5 years, 4 months ago @Jay-ef2ii These reports are interesting. Reporters need to do more reports about illegal immigration, and legal immigration to Canada. 0 ONjCMzB_FPw
5 years, 4 months ago @anais937 Why is everyone surprised Canada has immigration laws??? We do not hate ppl who want a life in Canada but you need to inform yourself properly before actually showing up here.Canada’s immigration system is not unnecessarily strict like the us, but that doesn’t equate to anyone coming here. There is no false hope. Also Vancouver is literally the worst place for an immigrant/ refugee to start their lives; way too expensive. 0 ONjCMzB_FPw
5 years, 4 months ago @swicheroo1 My heart goes out to him. I was a refugee as a young child. I knew nothing about the legal meaning of my circumstances. But over the years, I have gleaned the fact that refugee status has specific legal boundaries. These legal specificities are not determined by any one country. They are determined by international law. You need to be persecuted. Specifically targeted. As a person. Or as a member of a targeted group. Jumping from one country to the next doesn't change the definition of a refugee as determined by international law. 8 ONjCMzB_FPw
5 years, 4 months ago @Duracell231 I know many people who did that. But most of them go not for papers not for new opportunities BUT to take advantage of the Canadian free welfare. Many many years everything for free. 1 ONjCMzB_FPw
5 years, 4 months ago @angiel2710 He could start by learning English , no offense 0 ONjCMzB_FPw

5 years, 4 months ago @wheelieblind This Immigrant Left the U.S. To Seek Asylum In Canada And Regrets It... ok but well they all regret it? This might not be a bad idea for someone, well in his case he is separated from his child but damn. It would be just so perfect get into the US while air plane tickets cost less, over stay your welcome lol, and then get out of America even though Trump is no longer President because America is always going to be crazy and then stay in Canada. Really if they are fling they should just go to Canada. 0 ONjCMzB_FPw
5 years, 4 months ago @southern_valley86 Before everyone of us build a family if we are still on working to foreign country which is not ours.you yourself knew that theres a posible deportion...because the law of the land be and must served and benifets for thier own people.face the consequinces or accept tha fact that you are mexicano.even me.i am filipino i was deported last 2015 then i am content what my race is. 0 ONjCMzB_FPw
5 years, 4 months ago @ciganyweaverandherperiwink6293 Does the word 'refugee' not have any meaning to anybody anymore? Pffft. It's like this in Europe. Let's be honest, most are economic migrants not refugees and I find it deeply insulting to see such powerful words abused and entirely watered down in meaning. It's like the gross abuse of words like 'phobic', 'fascist' and 'racist' etc. The more you fling them around as pejoratives that enforce or heighten some emotional angle in your rhetoric, as a dopey shorthand smear word, the greater the REAL damage. If you genuinely care about words and their meanings. There's nothing wrong with immigration whatsoever, the problem is illegal immigration and people who play the system. It angers everybody, especially other legit immigrants, interestingly enough. I laugh at these soft-headed, sheltered types believing all the sob stories they're fed, the images they first see and take entirely to heart. When you live 'in it' you can spot a load of old bollocks a mile away. 1 ONjCMzB_FPw
5 years, 4 months ago @sarcohuman8147 This dosent happen to immigrants in Canada I’d say most don’t have this happen but many do 0 ONjCMzB_FPw
5 years, 4 months ago @akira3648 like how ignorant people label other people as illegal, lol there's no just thing as illegal, just immigrants. Stop labeling people and stop thinking the it's al white and black like saying you should come here legally wen the rules are against you from the beginning. 0 ONjCMzB_FPw
5 years, 5 months ago @MrTottanham update, a few years went by, Jose learned to say yes and no in english, applause applause 0 ONjCMzB_FPw
5 years, 5 months ago @Hesbonful With a mere stroke of a pen, in two fingers, people can hold the lives of others in captivity, freedom, or condemnation not to mention the implications of the involved helpless small children and their mothers- to whom the dad is the only and greatest hero they know...(not knowing that himself is scared and traumatized but yet has to conceal it and play superman on the family stage/ podium) Some of these people are hardworking and can contribute to even a countries tax... Harsh and hard realities we live in, realities not out of nature, but made by us. 0 ONjCMzB_FPw
5 years, 5 months ago @kathryncarter6143 All this is so so sad. All these broken up families break my heart. 1 ONjCMzB_FPw
5 years, 5 months ago @cbarber5597 No don't come here to canada 1 ONjCMzB_FPw
5 years, 5 months ago @WhereRUMaria First mistake he went illegal to the USA. Then he wants Canada to accept him with open arms. Also seems like he never made an effort to learn English after all this time in the USA & Canada. You want to move to any country, do it the right way and life will be good. Do you think Canadians or Americans can move illegally to his country El Salvador and work and live there. They would be locked up in a horrible jail and then removed from the country. 0 ONjCMzB_FPw
5 years, 5 months ago @exodus3518 as an actual immigrant: the term is illegal. 0 ONjCMzB_FPw
5 years, 5 months ago @thatguynexus5935 Dafaq imagine illegally immigrating to the US then doing it again in Canada but get turned down and seek asylum from the US 0 ONjCMzB_FPw
5 years, 5 months ago @grubhubguy9629 EVERY Country has immigration laws. You can’t just walk into any country you want and instantly be granted the same benefits as citizens and legal immigrants. It doesn’t work that way in Canada, USA or any other country for that matter. 513 ONjCMzB_FPw
5 years, 5 months ago @D1234-n5h Deportation order from the U.S, there is nothing more to do. Safe flight you your country pal. 0 ONjCMzB_FPw

5 years, 5 months ago @MrDarren5012 Asylum? Lol. From America? Could never happen... to seek asylum you have to prove your life is in danger from the way a country is run or war... 0 ONjCMzB_FPw
5 years, 5 months ago @Planner38 He is not an immigrant. He is claiming to be a refugee. One cannot be both an immigrant and a refugee. He attempted to game the system by first seeking refuge in the United States and then seeking refuge in Canada. A person cannot stop around until he finds a country that is willing to accept him. He is not willing to respect the rules by showing up for his hearing and moving his family from Alberta to British Columbia. I have no sympathy for the fact that he feels rejected by Canada. I did not ask him to bring his self-entitled ass to Canada. Canada has every right to decide who can and cannot stay in the country.\n\nFifteen years in the United States and he cannot speak English. Shame on him. He has made no attempt to integrate into countries that he feels owe him something. Toss his useless ass out of Canada. 0 ONjCMzB_FPw

5 years, 6 months ago @RedHanded1969 Jose did not do his researched at all. He just based his info on heresay.\nHe doesnt need a lawyer to tell him that he has no chance, n many lawyers are just too greedy.\nHe also didnot improved himself, after living in US for 15yrs. His English shud be fluent, earn himself a college education, learn a trade.\nIf he has done all that he could hv gotten a Canadian trade cert, n work n easily got his PR..\n\nCanadian has 1 of the easiest n transparent PR prog, n US is very generous to illegals. Had Jose understood all those he could hv earn his PR, in just a few yrs.. 0 ONjCMzB_FPw
5 years, 6 months ago @richardcalisi9188 What the people dont realize is that CANADA is a very expensive place to live, they think they can come here and live on couple of bucks. Canada is not the States. We pay the highest taxes, highest alcohol price, housing market is just ridiculous, Hydro most by any country, ...oh man I could keep on going. oh yeah...and dont forget that beautiful cold snow and the shovelling u have to do in -30 degree weather. 0 ONjCMzB_FPw

5 years, 6 months ago @millertime11b84 HAHAHA 1 ONjCMzB_FPw
5 years, 6 months ago @devilantony100 There are illegals in canada but honestly I feel bad for them because they think it's like in the state where they are free to do what they want. Here it's very very difficult because everyone who is a resident has a medical insurance which is hugely important plus not a lot of places pay cash , unlike the US. Canada is kind of a half socialism and at the same time capitalism ( only for huge corporations) 0 ONjCMzB_FPw
