Maybe if we (the western world) stopped creating so many inequalities worldwide... People wouldn't want to come here so badly. Maybe a little critical thinking and some compassion for others would go further than wasting tax payer dollars on walls and more boarder enforcement. Immigrants will only get more creative to try and get here. Build a wall, they will climb it. Hire another boarder enforcement officer... Sneak around him/ her. Now where-Oh-WHERE did José get the Idea that he could just illegally walk into Canada from the U.S., from which he and his family came to be, illegally!? \n\n95% of the immigrants coming into Canada from the U.S. are under some type of deportation threat, so they come into Canada. As a Canadian we are more open to immigtation . There are still laws. I myself am an immigrant. This piece shows one story out of thousands yearly. Without knowing specific details it is tough to judge. I know and have met quite a few refugees that have gained legal status within the past few years. We are not perfect by any means but the government does a good job, in my opinion. There must still be a vetting process. I hope this family has found stability |

Some Americans think seeking asylum is somehow skipping the line or illegal, none of which are true. There is a line, a list. Those already on the list will maintain their position, the people requesting asylum may be able to live on Canadian land, temporarily, but they start at the end of the list. It's a waiting game regardless of which path you take. |
