1 year, 10 months ago @bobhill4364 Why are rents so high? This is a part of it. All landlords must include the risk of not getting paid for years. All renters pay for people like this. Leftist policies hurt everyone. 0 N0xk0Bn6FqI
1 year, 10 months ago @IBISUSADIVERSE Wow so amazing nice 0 4ueS2Ph54uY
1 year, 10 months ago @vernonchang4370 If you go to a store and you don't pay, you don't get the goods. it's kind boggling how a tenant refuse to pay the rent and can stay so many years, imagine this person keep doing that for every place she succeeded getting the unit?? 0 N0xk0Bn6FqI
1 year, 10 months ago @gj8550 Don’t post if you don’t know what you are talking about. The Residential Tenancy Act prohibits… 1. Landlords to demand post dated cheques. 2. Landlord to collect more than one month’s deposit. 3. Landlord must go to the Landlord Tenant Board to secure an eviction order. 2 N0xk0Bn6FqI

1 year, 10 months ago @WaitAMinute1989 Hey, here's an idea, when they leave to go before Landlord and Tenant board, have your friends go in (by any means necessary) your Condo and dump their belongings out back by the dumpster. 0 N0xk0Bn6FqI
1 year, 10 months ago @SeaTrekkie88 This is absurd, she didn't pay rent she should be booted in a month. If the tenant board can't sort themselves out vigilantism is coming to a country near you, our legal system can't take care of it, people will start to take care of it themselves. 0 N0xk0Bn6FqI
1 year, 10 months ago @Wilem35 Thank Doug Ford and the Conservatives for this deregulation mess. 0 N0xk0Bn6FqI
1 year, 10 months ago @theompman It's a disaster almost everywhere. Tenants have wayyyyy too many rights and many take advantage of it while the landlord suffers! How ridiculous it that! 0 N0xk0Bn6FqI
1 year, 10 months ago @Kelvin_Ess Look, the challenging housing market is not this man's problem to fix. He rented his home out, they agreed on terms, she violated them repeatedly. What do you want from him, hes a charity?? He's just a man with a home. He shouldnt be demonized. Anybody can do the same if they want to. This is the simplest concept in society. You dont pay, you leave. I dont know what people are going on about saying he should know the risks, like he's a fool. 1 N0xk0Bn6FqI

1 year, 10 months ago @edwardst-pierre1020 I personally don't believe foreign citizens should own real estate when we have a housing problem. Renting shouldn't be a life long dream but ownership of a home is. 1 N0xk0Bn6FqI

1 year, 10 months ago @sharonnicholson3393 I've got behind on my rent in the past. \nI lived out my last month's rent. \nI'm sorry to the landlord I couldn't pay $2,400 in 2 months. \nBut I left so I gave them no further aggravation and problems so we could all move on. \nI put myself on the street and lost everything. \nEventually I got back on my feet got my own place. \nNot keeping these good landlords supporting me. \nI love this man he sounds like a good man good luck sir you're the kind of immigrants we need in this country to have full-time citizenship you work so hard to get where you are today❤ 53 N0xk0Bn6FqI
1 year, 10 months ago @JCasR3 In Manitoba it’s a little bit easier but the RTB is such a drawn out process. \n\nYou need to have justifying grounds. Easy. They didn’t pay. You have to serve them their termination, with a minimum of five business days to vacate. This is where it gets tricky. You have to attempt at least 3 times on different dates at different times of the day. Usually around 7:00 AM, Noon, around 7:00 PM. If that fails. You have to pay to be allowed to post the notice on the door. After that you have declare they’ve been served. Then book a hearing which can take a month or more. At the hearing which can take hours or minutes depending on how well prepared you are, or how much the tenant wants to argue. \n\nOnce the hearing is concluded. It can take 1-2 weeks to get the final decision. If they’re told to vacate. They usually have 5 business days before you can involve law enforcement. Which then takes another week for them to show up. Finally the landlord can change the locks. \n\nExcept, the tenant can then file an appeal. And take the landlord back into a hearing which can take another month. If the tenant fails to change the verdict it’s final. Then you need permission from the RTB to send them to collections, which can then take months if ever, to get the money back. 0 N0xk0Bn6FqI
1 year, 10 months ago @jasonmelville5928 So, hypothetical thought here. If the landlord cant pay the mortgage cause the tenant wont pay, then when the bank takes over, will the bank have the same problem as the landlord did or will the bank be able to have the tenant removed quickly? 7 N0xk0Bn6FqI
1 year, 10 months ago @tayya7371 Canada is turning into a gangsta paradise .\nvery slow bureaucracy …takes forever to get a response 1 N0xk0Bn6FqI
1 year, 10 months ago @sarnian9055 Only big landlords with staff can really run rentals. Mom and pop landlords have no respect and are targeted. Well, Millennials need to pay higher rents. Everybody ends up paying for theft. So many homeless in southwestern Ontario right now. Bad tenant culture right now. They ride high on abuse but then no one wants them. 0 N0xk0Bn6FqI
1 year, 10 months ago @DeeKate I'm sorry, but if a tennant hasnt paid in 3 months, landlords should be allowed to evict and remove the persons belongings from their property. The fact that this isn't considered theft blows my mind. 0 N0xk0Bn6FqI
1 year, 10 months ago @mannyanagnostakis444 I can't stress the importance of thorough tenant vetting in the rental process enough.....for the average landlord (not as sophisticated) can greatly reduce the risk of these situations by having someone competent, thorough, experienced, and with (hard to define) Spidey -like senses help in the process. 0 N0xk0Bn6FqI

1 year, 10 months ago @gregrogers4376 One thing is absolutely certain.\nIf the landlord were NOT a visible minority.\nIf the landlord were canadian born Caucasian, this report would never have aired.\nThe tenant might be a complete jerk but no matter what we, as viewers must follow the “poor-little-hardworking-immigrant” idea.\nSo sick of the propaganda. 4 N0xk0Bn6FqI
1 year, 10 months ago @sunnyn7185 Renting is the worst business in Canada. And the Toronto, Ontario and Canada Governements wonder why there is shortage of rental accommodations. I can easily accommodate one family in my home. But I know if there is an epidemic like Covid and the tenant does not pay the rent, I will be screwed. And rather than have a plan that can enable a tenant own a home, the Governments mentioned have plans that will make the landlord bankrupt and become a tenant! The tenancy laws are bad, bad, bad! 0 N0xk0Bn6FqI

1 year, 10 months ago @gj8550 Before Ford took office, cases were heard before the Landlord Tenant Board in a matter of weeks. Now there is a backlog of months and Ford is allowing it to happen. During the pandemic, Ford told tenants that they didn’t have to pay rent. Many landlords are exiting the rental market; thus contributing to the shortage of rental units. Ford asked developers to build more in an effort to alleviate the shortage. Over 70% of condo units are bought by mom and pop investors, many of whom are gun shy after hearing horror stories about the LTB. Without the lion share of investor buyers, developers are reluctant to build more condos. The Ford government has no clue. 0 N0xk0Bn6FqI
