1 year, 10 months ago @shakthivelvayramuthu nothing such thing ,you can see in usa. This is a utter stupid laws in canada, the tenants can enjoy without paying rents for even for years. I don't know what the hell of all these laws where they found such laws on this planet. The tenants never know the value of the property. most of them are all on welfare and child tax benefits. mainly they are cooking and sleeping 24/7 and damaging the property too. if you go to land lord tenants board. they are other stupid. they don't know how a landlord is suffering by all these stupid tenants. 1 N0xk0Bn6FqI

1 year, 10 months ago @treaty8631 I know so many people who would love to rent out their basements.....but wont . If the government brought in a 1 month eviction law , no questions asked...a huge amount of spaces would open up for tenants....huge. 49 N0xk0Bn6FqI

1 year, 10 months ago @yasertruck I don't understand the way theose people are thinking!! Yes, you might get away with a year or 2 of not paying rent, but at some point, you'll get evicted, and your name will be on the Openroom website, how TF then you'll get a landlord to accept your application then ? You might saved 20 or 30K, but you'll spend it in few months living in a hotel hoping for someone to rent you their place 26 N0xk0Bn6FqI
1 year, 10 months ago @chihochoi Canada has became land of lawlessness… 0 N0xk0Bn6FqI
1 year, 10 months ago @amira6707 Desperate need for condo houses? I lived in a new condo where they had a twin rental tower (over 1000 units) and they couldn't find more than four people to move into it in almost two years because of the price and the credit requirements. I think Canada needs more affordable housing, not more housing. 58 N0xk0Bn6FqI
1 year, 10 months ago @alexanderh.999 Ltb is a f joke. This situation should never happen. Maybe time to take matters into his own hands. Let her be the one who sue and appeal at the court after facing some consequences 22 N0xk0Bn6FqI
1 year, 10 months ago @CanadianBiPolarBear Sell the condo... or how about stop allowing people to own rental properties and we wouldnt have a housing issue 2 N0xk0Bn6FqI

1 year, 10 months ago @bernardkermanadventures5961 I can't imagine why there is a shortage of rental units. 26 N0xk0Bn6FqI
1 year, 10 months ago @zube2007 For the people supporting the tenant the landlords should stop long term renting altogether. Either Airbnb or sell. There will be reduced rental supply and you can count on government to solve the housing problem. 8 N0xk0Bn6FqI

1 year, 10 months ago @rickrick70 When you own a home and are renting it out. You are fully responsible for the housing of the tenant. This is the rule in Canada. You want to take on the task of being a landlord then this is what you got to deal with. The rent amount must be so ridiculous that this poor girl can't afford it. ? 2 N0xk0Bn6FqI
1 year, 10 months ago @UdnaBaaz Black at it again 21 N0xk0Bn6FqI
1 year, 10 months ago @calbeebbqbbq Do people actually think the landlord pockets all the rent money or something? 13 N0xk0Bn6FqI

1 year, 10 months ago @knowledgeandmultiskilled I think it would be better if someone cannot afford to live in Toronto then to relocate. Living in Ontario is expensive especially in Toronto. I also think that is a lot of money she owes.\n\nRegarding myself I have an idea of how expensive Ontario is, but I have not visited all of the Canadian provinces, so I am wondering what life is like in different parts of Canada. 2 N0xk0Bn6FqI

1 year, 10 months ago @manojchowdhary4208 In another news PM Trudeau has found credible allegations that Indian diplomats are encouraging Canadians to not pay their rents. ?? 4 N0xk0Bn6FqI
1 year, 10 months ago @biglemoncoke4095 Basically these kind of things happen when the economy is starting to go south, more crimes and scams are coming as the situation get worsen. This new era of chaos begins back since covid time, and will probably last for this decade. Hopefully, i am all wrong on this. Now is not the time to have secondary properties as an investment option when fed fund rate still around 5 % despite upcoming rate cut, and this is the time to keep investment conservative, budget tight and spending under constraint, in hope, global recession will be on soft landing. 20 N0xk0Bn6FqI
1 year, 10 months ago @vancouverlandlord1604 I am in BC and it took 3 to 4 months to see the Residential Tenancy Branch to hear my case before an Arbitrator and I won. Hopefully the laws in Ontario are better. In B.C. the Residential Tenancy Branch cannot enforce monetary orders. This means the Tenant doesn't have to pay despite an order for payment from the Residential Tenancy Branch. You then have to go to small claims court which is another long process. 25 N0xk0Bn6FqI

1 year, 10 months ago @62Cristoforo Ford’s own personally hand picked appointees who sit on the Landlord & Tenant Board are obviously incompetent, and don’t care about tenants or landlords in Ontario. 0 N0xk0Bn6FqI
1 year, 10 months ago @clanholmes They wonder why people put their apartments on airBNB insteading of renting them normally. 989 N0xk0Bn6FqI

1 year, 10 months ago @Lifeattheloadingdock This isn’t a new issue this has been going on for years it’s just now being talked about laws need to be changed. If you don’t pay your rent you get kicked out simple! 124 N0xk0Bn6FqI
