1 year, 11 months ago @NicholasRobertson-o2n They’re the reason it costs so much. We didn’t have this problem before someone let in millions in a few years. Supply and demand. 5 7hOyjWdJNgM
1 year, 11 months ago @Rodrigo_Gatti Federal government should have policies to bring immigrants to small towns and dying communities instead of major metropolitan areas 1 7hOyjWdJNgM
1 year, 11 months ago @1meetup Before the French Revolution, the French monarchy, under King Louis XVI, imposed numerous taxes that burdened the populace, exacerbating the suffering of the already hungry and impoverished citizens. These taxes included the **taille** (a direct land tax), the **gabelle** (a tax on salt), and the **corvée** (unpaid labor required of peasants). The financial strain from these taxes, along with widespread famine and economic hardship, fueled discontent and contributed to the revolutionary fervor that ultimately led to the overthrow of the monarchy. 1 7hOyjWdJNgM
1 year, 11 months ago @Yuri-z2y What has left for immigration, brothers, since locals let this country dowm?\nUS?\nAustralia?\nNew Zealand?\nAny ideas? 1 7hOyjWdJNgM
1 year, 11 months ago @stinkfinger630 Ironic. It’s because of the immigration that housing is unaffordable! Any apartments that come up, there’s a line up of 150 non-Canadians competing driving the price up! 9 7hOyjWdJNgM
1 year, 11 months ago @Twatwaffle_69 Please leave.. shouldn’t have been here in the first place 1 7hOyjWdJNgM

1 year, 11 months ago @brettwalters-n4u Nearly 40% of new immigrants thinking of moving due to Canada's high housing costs: poll\n\nGood and hope you enjoy your new home... 2 7hOyjWdJNgM

1 year, 11 months ago @keithrodgers1030 The problem is everywhere not just Canada. The WEF eg bankers, industrialists , rigged the property venus fly trap to benefit big corporations. You as an individual regardless of where you live have been squeezed out. A lot of economies are now built on new migrants buying property, cars, funishings etc. US and Canada are prime examples. The affordablity is blatant market manipulation. 1 7hOyjWdJNgM
1 year, 11 months ago @Mexicantours I live in Mexico now…. 3 7hOyjWdJNgM

1 year, 11 months ago @user-dv8bs7tb5c Its high BECAUSE we are letting too many new people IN without enough housing to go around. Lets tale care of who is already here...citizens FIRST...and atop playung like we have no idea why its a problem. Kay? Do some actual journalism and investigate wand educate why the cost is high EVERYONE who comws hwre is strong in their CULTURE FAITH IDENTITY and demand a space for theirs. We are not strong in ours and its disappearing rather than people having to assimilate. When i travel to other countries, like Islamic law cpu triew for example, i assume thr cultural norms.. i dont demand i am accomodated and they wouldn't do it!!! 0 7hOyjWdJNgM
1 year, 11 months ago @cristrealout-n1u This is AMAZING news if its true.... get em out !! 1 7hOyjWdJNgM
1 year, 11 months ago @MrKansaitim We used to build public housing ... it can be done again if govt. is serious about the issue. 0 7hOyjWdJNgM
1 year, 11 months ago @Freddy_Sutton I was born BC, Canada 40 years ago. In my 31 years of working, the minimum/general hourly wage has gone from $7 to $17/hour. In my 24 years of renting, a one bedroom apartment went from between $500-$600/month to $1700+/month if you're lucky. Most businesses make too little to pay a living wage and governments make too much off of people trying to get rid of questionably gained money to care about the lives/best interests of the average person. 1 7hOyjWdJNgM
1 year, 11 months ago @rockshankar what about Canadians who doesn't own a home or have parents who own a house, they are thinking of staying? 0 7hOyjWdJNgM

1 year, 11 months ago @very_awake Double whammy for BC - we have the NDP messing up the province and Trudeau screwing up at the Federal level. 1 7hOyjWdJNgM
1 year, 11 months ago @alk4210 dont come to canada 1 7hOyjWdJNgM
1 year, 11 months ago @robertmoura6336 A shame, remember back in the late 60's you would buy a house and within ten years it would be país off, now you are Lucky if you pay it off. 16% actually own the home the rest are slaves of the banks and landlords. 1 7hOyjWdJNgM
1 year, 11 months ago @ZenCorvus Good we aren't letting in the best 2 7hOyjWdJNgM
1 year, 11 months ago @JCasR3 Been working with a lot of immigrants and the ones who complain the most… tend to have the same mentality. They apply for every social assistance program possible, they are very demanding, and often live outside of their means. Buying expensive cars and traveling often. My family immigrated here in the 90’s as refugees and both my parents worked hard. They never took out any handouts. If you need it, get it. The big difference is the mentality. Most of my parent’s friends were the same. Came to Canada with the mentality to work hard and get a better life. 19 7hOyjWdJNgM
1 year, 11 months ago @come2me007 The problem is artificially created 1 7hOyjWdJNgM
1 year, 11 months ago @Koolys7only I'd suggest just moving out of the country. Canada is destroyed. 2 7hOyjWdJNgM
1 year, 11 months ago @geoffreykeating8172 Hedge funds attacked housing markets all over ? and govts all over ? have let them do it ? 0 7hOyjWdJNgM
1 year, 11 months ago @Ont785 Immigrants in business want to make money; not fund this social nightmare 0 7hOyjWdJNgM
1 year, 11 months ago @Canuck_Retro_Gaming Canada has gone to crap 4 7hOyjWdJNgM
1 year, 11 months ago @Donnie-sh9md The high cost of housing initially surged due to an influx of immigrants, which also contributed to keeping wages low. This situation has resulted in a lasting disadvantage for many 5 7hOyjWdJNgM
1 year, 11 months ago @Redbgone Has everyone lost their mind?\nWhy do you think housing is so expensive?\nSupply and demand!\nWake the F up!!! 4 7hOyjWdJNgM
1 year, 11 months ago @Dam-a-fence Harper broke the housing market when he adjusted the immigration rules in 2012.\nFrom 2012 onward the 50/50 split of economic/non economic migrants was over. From then onward, it would be 70% economic migrants. So already a direct contravention of equality unless disadvantaged(section 15 of the Charter).\n40% are thinking about moving due to high housing cost, well, when 20% more of them are now in the top 10% of monetary society... It follows that 40% would get priced out.\nI do not excuse the Liberals, they knew Harper said that those new 20% also had to have a 15-17 year old kid from 2012 to 2017, and they did nothing about the missing homes they'd continue needing.\nNo, Harper also did nothing about the new homes they'd need, he instead offered tax rebates for green energy retrofits, even further proving that Conservatives care only about those who already have money. 3 7hOyjWdJNgM
1 year, 11 months ago @mamajuana3603 Good! Leave! 1 7hOyjWdJNgM
1 year, 11 months ago @wendymarples8388 The house prices will go down when people stop buying them. As long as there are people who can afford to pay what the homeowner wants, they will NOT go down. That's how a free market works. Leave the Lower Mainland if you can't afford it. Have you ever looked at a map of BC? Big place. Lots of choices. 0 7hOyjWdJNgM
1 year, 11 months ago @goodfood6130 The people who cause the high housing cost saying high housing cost so they decide to leave the places that are high housing cost and move to the next area and make it the next place of high housing cost. 1 7hOyjWdJNgM
1 year, 11 months ago @jkb358 The corrupt authoritarian Trudeau regime is the worst thing to ever happen to Canada 2 7hOyjWdJNgM
