6 years ago @emilywhittle1420 The girl with the dreadlocks who stood up for the actress? 110% chance SHES been discriminated against for her HAIR. I’m white, but I’m goth. If I go into a store, I am followed CONSTANTLY. Just because of MY CLOTHES. It happens so much that when I was out with my extremely Christian father at a store HE noticed it and I DIDNT. I can’t imagine what it’s like for someone to have that happen because of their skin colour. I can change my clothes. They can’t change their skin colour. 1 WjmDwWUhEpg

6 years ago @jonathantoenail863 I couldn't imagine getting paid the very least that a company can legally pay you, and then caring at all if someone steals from the business. They would pay you a dollar per hour if they could, why should you put in any more than the absolute minimum amount of effort not to fired? 3 WjmDwWUhEpg
6 years ago @denesehussett6968 Yes racism is in Canada when shopping 0 WjmDwWUhEpg
6 years ago @deliri0um Its so important for Canadians to know racism exists here because these so subtle yet so consequential differences are caused by us, the people. I think its impossible not to have bias everyone has a preconceived notion they evaluate others with, but to act upon that first notion without knowing the person, thats wrong. 0 WjmDwWUhEpg
6 years ago @lexxon11 Why would you feel jealous? That is a symptom of self hate!!! That is just as bad as racism to me!!! 0 WjmDwWUhEpg

6 years ago @yaitsme8552 think some of these tests should be structured better to make us more aware of our *actions towards different races in specific situations and suggestions to improve collectively. we already know most ppl have a higher pref for whites..most ppl generally have prejudice views but whats ur point?? we already know this and why but what can we do to change as a society?? 0 WjmDwWUhEpg
6 years ago @HatchetHarry CBC let me tell you a story about me. I’ve been followed many times for committing no crimes. Now there’s one difference i’m white and each time that happened the guard was black. I’ve never been followed by a white guard. That tells me it’s racially motivated. Do you have any idea how degrading it is? Let’s see how many people have had the same experience. I’m curious... 1 WjmDwWUhEpg
6 years ago @harrylime3370 Fun fact: For an Organization that is apparently the Advocate of Inclusivity and Diversity, the top management of CBC is almost exclusively women. Where is the male diversity inclusion? CBC: Care to respond to this? 1 WjmDwWUhEpg

6 years ago @bethmagnin7967 I am from the US and am ashamed at my country’s racism. My family has always taught me as a very very young child that my country was new and made up of people of every country...a melting pot. As my parents taught me I also taught my daughter. It wasn’t until she reached high school that racism was really addressed at my home. In her sophomore year she came home extremely distressed over a discussion at her lunch table. Mind you she had been with the same group of girls since kindergarten. The subject came up about a new girl in school, from another country... Africa. She was so distressed about the conversation before the end of day she spoke to a teacher about it...her math and track coach. I was incredibly proud of her! To this day I can’t thank my parents enough for instilling in me what I needed to live free. To this day my daughter 17 years later has the pleasure of that young girl from Africa as a part of her extended family. We know what we are taught and ignorance has no place in or society today. I also grew up in Chester, PA where Dr Martin Luther King Went to school or a time, my parents were so proud of that. 2 WjmDwWUhEpg

6 years ago @mrsseasea I was arrested with my then partner, because we matched the description of Native Americans in a brown pickup truck, yes I still to this day have “armed robbery” charges on my record 34 years later. Just last year my granddaughter and I were in Target, when I noticed a guy following us around, I asked ‘ “why are you following us around” no answer, but filled us until we were done shopping and left the store, he followed us right out the front door! 1 WjmDwWUhEpg

6 years ago @normangabbard8816 I'm sorry to those that are stalked when doing something as simple as shopping. \nIt's wrong..\nBut guys..\nRemember this..\nThere is a God..\nHe sees and hears all..\nThe guilt of you getting stalked is not yours..\nIt's the stalkers..\nThey will have to answer to God for it..\nI truly believe we are all God's children.\nAs I believe he loves us all.\nBut god laid down his commandments. \nWe are to follow those commandments..\nHe is our father..\nHe laid down the rules.\nBut like a father does..\nIf we do not obey the rules..\nWe will be punished for it.. 0 WjmDwWUhEpg

6 years ago @toasterlul As someone who under saw evictions in montreal for many years i can confirm that the tenants i usually had to deal with for not paying rent were of color, the residences most often left in a total mess, with destroyed property and infestation were more often than not those of colored people. property owners have little to no power once they've signed a contract, it makes sense that they're careful of who they allow to rent from them. 1 WjmDwWUhEpg
