6 years, 5 months ago @dayadam16 For me I will say I hate going to Walmart especially when going through the self check and I'll have 2 items and they was sitting at there spot until I ring up then all of a sudden they're in front of me acting like they grabbing air. I can only laugh cause despite the beard look I know what I make and I can only be humble towards them. And I go out my way to show my receipt if I dont have one of my items get bagged. Even worse I went in to target and was one after maybe 5 minutes. A guy literally bounced side to side in every isle I was in while standing 5ft from me lol. She's actually English and Irish but she has dark brown hair and dark brown eyes and naturally tanned skin. It's very unusual for someone of British ancestry, but family photo's of Mum's family show the same colouring back to her great-great-grandfather. In Britain, as a blonde, blue-eyed daughter, I've watched my whole life as people treated her differently to other relatives. She's quiet, polite and her father was a police chief inspector, she strictly obeys the law. I've overheard people refer to her as a 'paki' and all sorts of derogatory things. When we went to the US, it wasn't better. They were rude to her until she spoke and then reacted with shock. Some admitted they thought she was Mexican. \nSo, is it any easier for her in Canada? When she visits me here, she is mistaken for an aboriginal. It isn't any easier for her here. And pettiness of it all. When they hear her accent, suddenly it's like she's their best friend. \nThe sad/funny thing is, often I can't find customer service more than half the time I'm out. When I'm with my mother, there is ALWAYS someone around to ask for help. 0 WjmDwWUhEpg

I am treated differently in no less than 75% of stores I go into. The employees stare me down, follow me... I'm going to start filming these people. It's not fair to be harrassed for S.W.B. It's sad, I was born this color, yet I am less than, or just plain bad before I even speak, or act in the minds of many, especially law enforcement. It's sad. It's depressing. It makes everything in life that I do in public, down to using the bathroom, getting to know new people, applying for work, buying food, or just walking down any street, so much harder. Oddly enough the woman (who happened to be middle-eastern) didn't want to rent to us because we weren't married.
