I live in USA and it's the same here the cost of living is true the roof, it's a world wide thing, the income of most people is barely enough to live, the middle class is getting trampled, why? Why this phenomenon is taking place? in the 60' people could work and buy a house, good luck now in Los Angles area, I know I can't. What changed 1960 and now? |

Very interesting and an opportunity to understand a conservative Arab Muslim view even after decades of living in and benefiting from Western society. \n\nOne question: have you ever looked at the HDI ranking of societies and reflected on how it is that the bottom half of the ranking is where almost all Muslim majority nations rest (with the exception of the oil monarchies of course where sales from oil, oil that is contributing significantly to the global warming that is harming the Earth in a way that brings to mind the verses of your Quran about fasad-fil-ard and the command on Mankind as part of its Khilafah to uphold the Mizan or balance or else be of the transgressors, make up the main reason for not being in the bottom half of the ranking)? Would love to hear your reflections. |

I was born in a muslim country, but no longer practice Islam. But still Canada is becoming intolerable for so many reasons, lack of true freedom, inflation, the political corruption, the freaking rain, unfriendly ppl and lack of community, drug poisoning of our loved ones. Also during the Covid, I saw an absolute madness in this country, that felt like hell. I would love to leave too. |

I'll agree that Canada is not a great place for religious conservatives. But very conservative religious nations are usually authoritarian. Im glad we dont have speakers broadcasting calls to prayer 5 times a day... That is pushing religion on the masses. For the record i dont support Isreal or Palestine in their lifetime war. Just support them coming to a peace agreement for the sake of innocent children trapped in their endless war. |

I am an American Christian, and you seem like such a lovely couple. I lived in England with two babies 1980nand I felt culture shock, so I feel compassion for how you feel living in Canada. I also attended University 4 years, NY near the Canadian border (30 deg below zero Fahrenheit in winters) so I understand how the extreme cold is hard to live through.Most of all, the Western world culture is beginning to push beliefs which even Christians can't tolerate.
