It's better for people who live by a book, to move to areas where Abrahamic religions still have relevance. Secularism has pluses and minuses, but is the hot bed of technology, invention and human rights. Alas theocracies, if taken literally lead to judgement and intolerance for those who need to be protected. Progress carries on regardless. 2 Ba65tdu6JQQ

I think KL is a good place to live for a Muslim family. It's well-connected, plenty of greeneries (many well-maintained public parks), relatively conservative Muslim society, tasty foods, affordable cost of living and foreigners can buy housing (for now, the threshold is RM 1 million). This country has changed, and not for the better. Greed has taken over with grocery conglomerates eliminating competition and raising prices for record profits. Buying a house now requires a lottery win, not just a mortgage. It seems that we are working to pay taxes and the banks and the insurance companies. And I have yet to hear anything meaninfull about this situation from the government on these issues. I was once a very proud Canadian but I too am considering leaving. You are able to ask teachers for a meeting at any time to explain your concerns. The values taught in schools should be understanding of all cultures, respect, kindness. We are more similar than we are different. Having said this, I understand that you are drawn to leave.
