2 years, 11 months ago @darlenelim8972 Hard no! Why? Too many damn Americans! 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @sara-name-unavailable hi tyler. another Canadian here. I'm gonna have to state the obvious stuff healthcare. gun control. woman's rights. But i want to go into a little more detail. My nearest hospital has a air ambulance helicopter. In America a Regular ambulance can cost you up to 5k and An air ambulance in the USA can go upto $36,000.\n\nin Ontario i'd pay NOTHING for a regular ambulance and 45 Dollars for the helicopter You're not even in the hospital And we're already talking stupid amounts of money 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @thelmaedwards5293 Unfortunately what we see in the news gives the idea that the US has problems with race, sexual orientation, sexism and there are religious zealots. It doesn't help that Fox News is your number 1 news station. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @allanloiselle7290 A couple of hundred bucks a month for health care? I'm paying maybe a little over $400 US a year through my income tax return. Many years ago I had lunch with a Blue Cross rep trying to sell our firm a group insurance plan. She admitted that even basic limited coverage in California cost way more than what we as an employer were paying for our government health insurance. My point is, sure, your company provided health insurance may seem to be free to you, but imagine the hit your employer takes on the bottom line for it. And think of how much more your take home pay could be without those exhorbitant premiums. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @thelmaedwards5293 Your gun laws or lack of them would keep me from moving. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @thelmaedwards5293 Truthfully there are areas in the states I wouldn't move to being liberal, but there are others I would like New York, California, parts of Florid we have what we call snowbirds who live in the US in the winter. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @LivingNed Would a country that isn't a batshit crazy political religious fusion have elected Donald Trump? I don't think so! 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @tyrelcrawford7303 'Be strategic on where you live' with imigration that is a bit of a problem -- you generally have to go where the job offers are - which kinda leads to big cities for the most part. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @soulmed21 In Canada the media and the government just exploites american gun violence to strip away the little right we have left in regard to guns. Much of that fear is overblown. As for healthcare, it has it's up and downs. People get all excited with our free but lame health service and always forget to say that it ain't really free. We are over taxed for it. In Quebec I pay around 35% income tax plus 15% purchase tax plus the gas and alcool that is taxed at a higher rate. On top of that we get two carbon taxes that in the end we are the ones paying for it. Over half of our income goes in taxes. I'm pretty sure that 99% of the time, in the US, you get more and better services for less money. Not saying that US is better than Canada. I think that depending where you live, it evens out. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @gillescousineau28 Also, speaking of health care, as Canadian visiting in the US, if you wind up in hospital for a long time, it's cheaper for the insurance companies to air ambulance us back to Canada than to pay the US healthcare bills 78 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @Scarlet_Phoenix You keep saying that the US health care system works fine for most people unless something big or unusual happens. That’s not a working system. A health care system should be something that people who need HEALTH CARE can benefit from. If only healthy people who don’t need to use it are okay with it, it’s broken. It’s the equivalent of offering cheap cars to people but only to those who don’t have a driver’s license but, as soon as you get your license, you have to pay top price. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @bartwilson2513 I read somewhere that over 125 Million Americans live with chronic health conditions. That's a lot of people who would struggle to survive with for profit healthcare. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @robertcaldwell2994 I grew up in small town Canada, comfortable with firearms, but as a tool, not as a means of defence. The gun culture is a problem. We have mental health concerns to at least a similar degree, but they tend not to be armed. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @kimmariefaber4636 “Cool things and cool stuff?” Just visit! 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @sandralachance1424 The problem with gun violence is that it CAN happen literally anywhere in the US. Anywhere, you can have an unhappy, marginalized teenager marinating in hatered who wants to leave this world with a statement. We have those in Canada as well. The difference is that in Canada, IF they can find a weapon, it will probably be a hunting riffle or something big, really hard to conceal and long to recharge. In the US, they can have a few pistols or a semiautomatic, which can be large but can cause a lot of damage in a short length of time. We had school shootings in Canada, but usually, by the time our troubled teenagers find a way to act on their impulse, someone find out. In the US, it can take just a few days, and the casualties are usually high. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @lauriemapplebeck1286 Canada is a part of the Commonwealth! The US is not! Study the the Commonwealth! You might just get us Better! Your constitution says you have the right to bear arms! Our guns are controlled!! ???❤️???? 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @gillescousineau28 Well school shootings were not a thing when you were school-aged, but now, things are SO different now. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @michelraizenne4827 I am a Canadian like most people on this post. I truly believe that most people are inherently good including our neighbours to the south but man oh man Wake up down there and start liking eachother a lot more. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @robertcaldwell2994 I turned down offers to work in the US, but have moved to the UK for a 3 year period, and a part of a year in the Netherlands. Also turned down South America and Taiwan mainly due to language. I used to travel to the US but only NY NY in the last decade. No real issues just little reason. There are many nice places in the US, but like in Mexico, needing to know where not to go seems like too much work. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @tailkinker1972 You keep saying that you gotta be careful where you live. I agree; that's why most Canadians want to stay in Canada. 7 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @reidsusan4 Children ARE getting shot daily. Why do we Canadians know more about your country than you do. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @reidsusan4 27 million people in the US do NOT have health care. So you cant say most people do. I would NEVER move to the US. I agree with the amount of batshit crazy racist religious nut bars would deter anyone from moving there. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @antiowarr9467 Move to the USA lol lol Why would I step down in life instead of improving myself. We should have the border closed tight as a frogs butt. FACT 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @earFront Why would anyone want to move into a country that is full of (Christian Right Wing Taliban Fundamentalists) backed by the (Federalist party). All those White Supremacy nut-jobs looking for any reason at all, to murder gay or democratic thinking people . . . No way America is not a good place until all the Nazis have been terminated some how. Don't even mention the theocratic Hate State desired by the MAGA's that bans abortion and bans basic good well balanced education . . . America, you had better get rid of your Nazi infestation or America is over, and so will be humanity. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @lauriemapplebeck1286 Too many people in the US, you guns, your government is corrupt, in my opinion!! Canada vs US. Canada has,(rounded up to nearest 10), 40 million, the US has, 340 million! We do have some racism, but not that much! Our Government is not great at the moment, but less corrupt then yours! In my opinion the US is full of themselves! You put all money into you huge military! Canada puts the taxes into much better programs!! ???❤️???? However, God Bless Canada and the USA!❤ 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @lucianonotte1444 Yes for sure I would move to the u\nS\nIf the liberals win again 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @lizzyL59 I grew up in a border town always going over to New York state which I loved doing. I also love traveling within the U.S (going to Florida in 3 months) but to live there ?? Maybe!? I think if I met someone from there I'd definitely consider it, but to move there for no reason ? No . For me I feel like it's more of a don't knock it till you try it kinda thing 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @kendakins698 Your averaging over 2 mass shootings a day this year. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @linelemay6803 You’re saying what people in places where shooting happened say every time: we didn’t think it would happened here. It’s like a general denial…until… 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @ghyslainabel When the shooting in a Columbine high school happened in 1999, it was shocking. Today, there are a mass shooting in American schools in about once a week. Mass shootings in general are now about once a day and the frequency continues to climb.\n\nIn the last 30 years, when a mass shooting happened anywhere else, countries made access to firearm more difficult. In the same time, the United States promoted bulletproof backpack, experimented with curved corridors in schools, but mainly it made access to guns easier (only good guys with guns can stop bad guys with guns).\n\nDo you see why we are not keen to move to the United States? 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @toryjames5084 Move to a small town in the US. You mean a place like New Town Conn. How does that work? 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @byronmcduffy3485 Except for the Poser Prince and his LIEBrals this place in paradise. Once we get rid of the social engineers we'll be on the right track again. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @normjones4204 I don't think Canadians so much are concerned with guns, it is the laws that get passed in many of the states. Lack of background checks, lack of firearms safety certification, concealed carry, stand your ground, and other laws most Canadians find objection to. Health care is an obvious reason many Canadians would not move to the USA. Canadians that do move to the USA usually have found a good paying job with full benefits and are of a demographic that feel more comfortable where they live. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @JT5555 this quest was doomed from the start: a huge chunk of being canadian is hating americans and being glad we aren't like them.XD\n\nas for me,i'd ONLY consider moving to the US if 1. i could live in disney world (right up there in cinderella's castle) or 2. could live the high life in california. no middle ground.XD 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @toddsmith6681 The US is cheaper but you couldn’t pay me to live there. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @ProfessorJohnB I think a lot of the differences between the two countries can be attributed to our different histories. The US was born of revolution and the deepest underlying value coming from that origin is personal freedom eg guns, health care. Canada was born of consensus not revolution and the deepest underlying value is peace eg we are proudest of our armed forces occur when they act as 'peacekeepers.' That said, we are influenced by US media and the origin of most of the illegal firearms in our country have been smuggled from the US. So, like it or not, we are slowly going down the same rabbit hole. Sadly. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @mikeb3539 Hell No! You couldn't PAY me to move to that dumpster fire of a country. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @MikeTufts-bw1me obesity is a national past time , mass shootings every week and sometimes every few days, any nut case with a 6th grade education can buy a gun, zero tolerance for your fellow human beings, complete lack of Respect and Responsibility, fast food restaurants are Filthy, Religious and Political Fanatics abound, Education is Very Disappointing, Health Care would bankrupt your average citizen without good health insurance, Far too many people, Prevailing Attitude that your Country is the Greatest ever in spite of all evidence to the contrary , Bullshit Prevails,.........Everywhere, you elected they Biggest crook and Liar in History as your President . i have worked in the US in Communications, I'd move to Central Africa before the States. Your Country Sucks!!!! 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @sharonflemming3026 I think the US has beautiful countryside and wonderful scenery and many lovely people, however, because of the divisiveness of the Republicans and the MAGA/Trump/NRA group which has caused such chaos and violence throughout the States during the past decade things in the US have gone downhill extremely quickly. The number one reason Children in the US are dying from is bullets - not accidents or diseases. That is a terrible statistic and the Republicans are doing absolutely nothing to stop it - prayer doesn’t stop bullets. \nAs a Canadian I used to travel to the US as a tourist but I no longer feel safe going there and will no longer go across the border. Florida seems to have implemented the worst political policies ever in its history and I believe it’s economy is going to absolutely crash. \nIf the States votes Republican in the election it’s going to be in its absolute worst possible political, global, financial, economic, and humanitarian position in its history. It will be a critical crisis for the country…. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @lolliemolnar3308 I don’t even want to visit the US in the current political environment, much less live there. Way too many highly reactive nuts with guns. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @MegR1999 Tyler! I'm sorry, but you're wrong. Guns are now the number one cause of death of American children and absolutely a factor for many Canadians as to why we'd never live there. As a mixed race family, I would fear for my husband's and children's lives on a daily basis. If it isn't in the schools, it's at malls, concerts, shopping centers, Walmart, everywhere!! Not to mention police brutality, specifically toward black men in America. It's a giant nope sandwich for me. Add to that the lack of socialized Healthcare and failing public education system, there's a reason we fly OVER the US and head straight to the southern America's or overseas even for vacations. Nothing about the US seems safe for our family. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @annmorgana2848 health care is becoming a pharma business in canada as well. canadians need to stop being so smug and start fighting for the health of the health care system they think is so amazing. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @aannddrryyaa I'm Canadian and lived in SF for a bit in the 90s. It was fabulous and I had wished I could have lived there longer -- legally. But it isn't that easy for an average Canadian to get a visa to live and work in the states. Made me sad, but now that I see the state of SF I'm good with it now. 2 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @gordjenkins Thanks 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @dennispowers3798 The truth is that in the U.S. the attitude is like..it didnt affect me so it's ok. In Canada it's like.. this effected all of the community so it's not ok. Get it? 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @jed666666 And our current government is so fucking corrupt its incredible, the shit that goes on here is a fucking joke. Fascism up the asshole. Freedom is a thing of the past. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @jed666666 Im from nova scotia, if it wasn't for family here my wife and kid would be gone down in a heart beat. \nWay better tax rates and actually services like some drivable roads, street lights and work. Good work, I've check job listings, so much work for anyone with an education education, education, 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @tao1337 The fact that you have to carefully pick where you live to avoid gun violence isn't normal to a non-american. It shows that gun culture is too strong in that country. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @Kevinc2828 Good Video clicked like . Now I know who he reminds me of it is the TIC TAC guy from Seinfeld Brent Hinkley . 0 O0gJtVar7_E
