This whole segment doesn’t delve enough into the background to be sure of exactly who this is going to effect and how. That’s just bad journalism. I’d like to know because I cross the path of many immigrants and care about them. If the federal government’s economic plans work out, there could be more demand for workers in the coming year, especially in and around Montreal - I also pay attention to announcements of companies setting up or expanding here - and this might be another example of the CAQ shooting themselves in the foot again. Québec may need immigrants in the very short term, but it will need to deal with mass unemployment in 3 years from now, being very optimistic. Immigration in the AI era needs to be rethought.
