2 years, 11 months ago @Munchkin.Of.Pern09 My uncle moved to Texas when he married my Texan aunt, but I’m fairly certain that’s only because she has a medical condition that means she physically cannot endure the temperatures we get here in Canada in the winter months. She would have quite literally been housebound for a third of the year every year if she came up here.\n\nEdit: Also, Canada may have a smaller population than the US, but we actually have the second-largest total land mass out of all the countries in the world. Russia is the only country with more land.\n\nEdit 2: In 2022, there were a total of 51 school shootings. That’s more than 4 school shootings *per month.* Of course we don’t trust the USA to be a safe place for children. Especially since even if you survive the shooting, there’s a good chance you’ll be bankrupted by injury. 5 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @Canadianstoner21 16:52 I thought you were the Home of the Brave! You would move rather than fight for change? Every American who has ever said they could kick Canada's ass can blow me. You're own civilians won't even fight for the basic right of their children not being gunned down? That's not freedom. How can you be free in a constant state of anxiety? Become so accustomed to it that you don't even know it's there until you live somewhere that actually knows what freedom means. \n\nHere it is Tyler, the real difference between Canadians and Americans. We may preach that it's because we do everything differently than the US and magically 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @alycelightenstheload1922 If you check the statistics, you will find that the US has more shootings in 2 weeks than Canada has had in 100 YEARS 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @carolmurphy7572 If you change jobs, can your new health plan deny you coverage for pre-existing conditions that would have been covered had you stayed with your previous employer? So, if you get sick, you MUST stay with the same employer regardless if it's a shitty job, because you can't afford to live without health insurance for that condition. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @LouismarieBelanger Freedom index: U.S. the world champion of democracy and freedom ranked actually 20th... Canada ranked 6th. To me it's a good reason enough not to move from Québec. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @redelfshotthefood8213 In the US, the price setter for health care is the doctor, or hospital. Given that it can be life or death, the sky is the limit for the price. In Canada, the government pays the bills. It pays in bulk. And thus gets the best prices. So. \n\nIt’s simple economics. \n\nPrivate industry wrote the laws and is writing the laws that govern their areas today. That’s what all those filthy rich lobbyists are doing in Washington, DC. 0 O0gJtVar7_E

2 years, 11 months ago @JaStargazer I was thinking about it at some point when I was a single male working in software development, to go south a few years and make a load of money, then come back to Canada ;) 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @juliedurocher2554 I lived in the US for a year and was subjected to discrimination at work because I had a small French accent. Add to that the potential of gun violence and the political climat, I would never live there again. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @carringtonvanston7725 “Almost everyone gets health insurance through their job.” That must be abused by bad bosses — can’t quit, or you might literally die. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @leaf54 Not for Elon's money. Thanks for asking. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @braddaves242 small towns do not matter over 365 mass shooting in half the year already 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @abramsalinas1004 But I know many Canadians by work transfer moved here and haven't gone back. Their hearts and heritage are still Canadian but their careers hold them here for however long. Some told me they were tired of snow shoveling and tired of the cold. They know where their home is and they can guide themselves however it works out. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @brendamcdonald6602 Move to a country where Donald Trump was voted President? That's insanity. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @braddaves242 America has a gun violence problem 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @arliegilpin5959 Plenty of Canadians own guns, reasonable people owning guns is not the problem. Automatic weapons and open carry is an issue. Some control is acceptable. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @glennsmith1040 No please no. We don't want your crazy bs here in Canada. Oh and ask yourself why would we want to move to a country where living in a caravan, or retiring in a mobile park and then pay the highest health insurance rates in the world for basic care. No thanks. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @braddaves242 Facts matter tyler it is racist and politics are in the toilet and the religion is bs, they are all sinners that do not follow Gods commandments and became hypocrites 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @sylvainlafreniere You forget that good year bad year lately, there are more children killed by gun than any other type of citizens. Canada did get its share of gun killing, not really a spree as in US. but guns licences got deal heavily because of that. Canadian society is lived mostly by social democracy. Republican MAGA and conservatism exist, but they are still low impact for now. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @danielvezina5521 There have been 23 school shootings this year(2022) that resulted in injuries or deaths, according to an Education Week analysis. There have been 167 such shootings since 2018. There were 51 school shootings with injuries or deaths last year, the most in a single year since Education Week began tracking such incidents in 2018. There were 35 in 2021, 10 in 2020, and 24 each in 2019 and 2018. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @braddaves242 The health insurance is a scam in the US 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @lisaeveleigh658 You should ask us again in February! Lol ? \nIf I had a really good job I would live in Hawaii. Health care would prevent this from happening right now. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @basseon The US school shooting problem is real and unique in the world. From 2009 to 2018 there was 288 school shootings in the US. The second highest count was in Mexico for 8, then South Africa for 6, Nigeria and Pakistan had 4, Afghanistan had 3, Brazil Canada and France had 2, and 9 other countries had 1. The rest had 0. In the 20 years following the shooting at Columbine, 280,000 students experienced some form of gun violence in the US.\n\nEdit: as other commented, it's not safer in smaller towns. Lots of school shootings happen in small towns. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @maritebecker2873 I have relatives in Florida I went there to visit the people is rude. I never hear one, sorry, please or thank you I went to the mall in Miami nobody attempted to help me so no thank you 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @pakeshde7518 Why would anyone sane want to move from Canada which to be fair does have serious issues to a septic tank?. I mean from wealthcare to monster storms, lack of insurance, guns guns guns everywhere and of course the cool calm dulcet tones of politics whispering like the talk of angels. As Carlin said living in Canada is like living over a nation of crackheads. And this is all before the growing lack of *blue gold* the states is now noticing, and that will be brutal when that comes home to roost. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @jonnsgirl I am loving all the Canadian apologies because Tyler's feeling got a little hurt that nobody wants to live in his country! LOL I love you Canada! 78 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @Jalbesbe I'd just say as a Canadian we have all of the best the US has to offer with very little of the negatives it has. So why would we go to somewhere where it only becomes worse.\n\nMost people in the USA are not ok when it comes to healthcare. The minor stuff sure, but if you have anything serious happen most likely your healthcare will only cover half or a quarter of the costs. The USA also has some of the worst healthcare care out of almost all western countries.\n\nTo put into perspective of kids and gun violence. From 2019-2023 on average 9 kids get shot dead in the USA per day, so 3 285 per year. If we look at 2019 specifically we have 73million people under the age of 18 exist. If we use the average of 9 shot a day and put that to 18 years of life we come up to 59,130 shot over the 18 years; however out of 73 million it means you only have a 0.081% chance of dying from being shot. Doesn't sound too high, but it means you're more likely to get shot dead than almost all other forms of death, more likely to be shot as a child than someone to win the lottery. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @dreamteam9748 I'm canadian and I would because (atleast where I am) Healthcare SUCKS I have a broken foot and 3 days I got told to leave walk-in clinics because there was no space for me and i had to wait in the hospital all day. Luckily it ended up being just a hairline fracture and since I had my boyfriend's aircast from when he broke his foot and went through the same thing 2 years ago it was okay. More canadians you'd know die while on waiting list then your believe. And the gun culture I love guns 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @BCLumberman I am an American that has lived in Canada for the past 53 years. I am now 76 years old. There is a lot of batshit-crazy-political-religious-racist fusion in the USA that is poisoning the entire world. I won't go back to the country of my birth for any reason. Nuts! 0 O0gJtVar7_E

2 years, 11 months ago @nicholastempesta5950 I live in the gta and I want to get a us citizenship and move to the us, proabbly in the minority but I’m so pissed off with Canada that I just want a change in general, I’m tired of the Canadian government, not that the us government is really much different… 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @terrylachancr9030 we can easily get guns here in Canada. we just don't go nuts and shoot each-other! 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @optimoprimo132 Props Tyler you took that well. I lived in the states for over 10 years. CT, MA, NY, IN. Some of the nicest people I have ever met. Every place has faults if you look hard enough but you wont find more generous people than in America.\nCanada is my home and I love the culture and the people but I found Americans are just as nice and kind.\nIf you haven't lived there you can only judge by what you know. As for me I lived and traveled there since I was 20. In various States.\nIf you haven't been endeared to the Americans while living there you haven't been around the right people. If you are having a rough day there will always be friends who have your back.\nI'm moving back to the States next year after 10 years back in Canada. 1 O0gJtVar7_E

2 years, 11 months ago @Loretta_Lynn Never lived in the US but have visited a lot. I do have family in Washington state and I really enjoy visiting that part of the country. I didn't like New York and California only because of the sheer amount of people. Way too many people for my liking. Walking down the streets I felt like I was being shoulder checked with every step. In some smaller areas, absolutely loved the people and communities. Very friendly, and I find Americans to be very patriotic which I absolutely love! Health care and gun violence would be enough to keep me away though. Now in 2023, I find America becoming political polarized. Just watching the news is enough to raise my blood pressure (which I don't even have). If I got a chance to leave the snow behind, I think I would choose overseas on a island somewhere. Also at the age where I want peace and quiet. Raised kids already so more on the downlow and quite beach life. Thanks for your videos Tyler you are definitely one of my favorite Americans. Hugs to you. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @LouismarieBelanger 700B dollars for War , but nothing for universal health care or better school or aged people or higher security in your cities. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @leedonahue1515 No! Not a chance not when the USA is gun crazy and lets nut jobs run for leader of the country. You kill your kids for an obsolete amendment to your Constitution. It is no longer necessary tell the right to bear arms the British Redcoats are not going to invade you and take your country. Your gun violence is way out of control, and I watched your country take away more of your citizens rights day by day. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @Canadianstoner21 14:35 YOUR GUN LAWS ARE NOT CONSIDERED EXTREME! THEY'RE CONSIDERED pathetic. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @lamamama6337 Most small businesses in Canada do not provide health plans for their employees. However, basic health care is available to everyone. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @BrianBaileyedtech Tyler, remember that the mass media plays a big role in this as anytime there is a school shooting in the US it gets reported in Canada. The news focuses on anomalies and these are still anomalies. I remember the first time I went to NYC in 1988 when it was still much more dangerous than it is today. When I got off the train I told my girlfriend not to take her camera out - but as soon as we rounded the corner from Grand Central it was wall to wall tourists and everyone had their camera out. I ended up having a great time and rode the subway all over the place, no problem whatsoever. I have travelled across the US several times and been to every single US state. There is huge variety and the US is my fav country in the WORLD for a road trip - so convenient, easy, interesting, beautiful and with friendly people everywhere. I have a message, having travelled to 105 countries on 6 continents and living 15 years of my life abroad in various countries - almost EVERYWHERE is safe in the world and full of mostly great people. TV isn't reality folks! If you are an idiot, you could get into trouble anywhere. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @calvincharlie999 The fact that you said it didn't affect me is why no one wants to move to the States. Cause all you do is care about yourselves. Canadians care about each other why we vote for what we all want. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @simonfreer9076 Canadian here. Born in Ottawa.\n\nMoved to Colorado about 10 years ago. Moved back to Canada about 8 years ago...........,.. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @LouismarieBelanger We have a lot of things like in U.S. We have more freedom here, our children don't get killed at school. Public schools are better here. Here the prime minister has to be elected like anybody else. If his party wins the most number of places in The Parliament he becomes Prime minister. We have Laws for minimum wages workers... etc. It's safer here in the streets 24 hours a day. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @CashMacGregor i moved to san francisco from british columbia in 1974-75. i lived in the marina district right by the water. i left my vette unlocked with the windows down, cassettes, ash tray full of change. no problem. broke my heart when i had to move back to canada. you couldn't pay me to live anywhere down there now. you are a great guy and would love to have you come here. 6 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @steverichard2786 23 school shootings in the US in 2023. ? That alone is hard, no way. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @nopigeon BUT the health care expenses are draining us financially here in the US. But we are able to get care for which there is a sometimes a death sentence waiting list for in Canada. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
