2 years, 11 months ago @MarkHarrison-bo3kf The number one cause of child-death in America is gun shot wound. I would call that a problem, even a huge one. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @natashac.m.8088 I'd move to Texas I think. Or Colorado, near a quiet lake somewhere that I can swim in regularly. But really, I'd rather be in Norway or New Zealand. Skip the States altogether. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @michaeldianewynne8414 I'm British, now retired and living in Spain for 20 years. Have noticed that in the last 10 years there are an awful lot of Americans who are moving here mainly because, although they still have to have private health, it's hugely cheaper here and the service is good; also the lifestyle is more laid back and they can visit a lot of different cultures. In the late 1960s my husband and I emigrated to Toronto, Canada. Visited the US a couple of times. First to NY city, second time down to Kentucky /Tennessee. My parents came on that trip with us. Met Americans at the motels we stayed in and a couple of times my father nearly lost it (don't know how he just kept quiet) as Americans his age were quite abusive and kept on about about how we'd never be able to repay America for their help in WW2 (my father fought in that for all 6 years). Anyway left Canada after 4 years and returned to England; not because we didn't like it but I was terribly homesick. None of the Canadians we're still in touch with would ever have moved to the US. 6 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @TranShar I've only just started this one but I've got to comment.\nUSA if you have health insurance, you still have co-pays. Even for things like an ED visits. And you pay, either through work or on your own, monthly for that insurance.\nIn Canada there is no co-pay, full stop (at least not in my province) and no monthly fee.\nI work for a call center and the client is an American health insurance company, so I've seen the invoices that hospitals send to the insurance. I've seen the co-pays the patients have to pay with insurance covering the rest.\nI'll take the wait for none critical care, thank you. Critical issues don't have that wait time, that's what triage is for. 3 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @Butterflies-are-free Uh…and just FYI Tyler….In the United States… “Every year, 19,000 children and teens are shot and killed or wounded and approximately 3 million are exposed to gun violence” …not just 1 or 2 children a year 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @saraln1994 I know some ppl that moved from Canada to Texas. They grew up in Canada, but now they moved 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @msgypsyqueen Isn’t it absolute unwanted STRESS, if you have to actually strategically choose where you have to put down your roots/family?? You can pick almost any place in Canada, and feel that you are going to be safe. Our nation isn’t perfect… But you really aren’t going to have to worry about where in this country, are you going to be subjected to extreme gun violence.. FACTS. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @jamesstone9904 Something americans probably dont realize is that american news in canada is almost exclusively negative (mass shooting/trump is evil/loss of abortion rites/cops killing plack people/white supremacists/etc/etc) and borders on propogandist. Canadian culture is basically defined as not American and the media and politicians tend to really lean into that while trying to show canada as superior by mocking the issues in the us. \n\nThat being said I would not move to the us from canada 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @HabsAndHeavyMetal My visits to the U.S. have always been positive experiences. Always. But, when you see signs in malls (outside of Macey's at the Mall of America) to keep your guns locked in your cars and not bring them into the mall...well!!! So many reasons to not leave Canada. So many to not move to the U.S. Just the politics alone is nonsensical. The inmates are running the asylum. Sorry Tyler, thanks but hell no. Never. 2 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @Animal_Lover66 My friend had just finished cancer treatment when she had 2 aneurysms & a stroke. She was airlifted to another hospital & had 2 brain surgeries. She now is now working 2 full time jobs plus door dash on the weekends just to survive. It is absolutely ridiculous. She should be taking it easy and healing & she can't because she could lose her car & home. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @timhall8275 I hope we didn't hurt your feelings. However many Canadians do the 6 months here and 6 months there.only because of the cold winters 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @scottlarson535 Hi Tyler, I enjoy your videos, your my favorite American lol\nWhile I was watching your video I was keeping an open mind on reasons why I would or would not move to US. I am Canadian, I was born here in the 60's, I've travelled around the world, including the US but have always lived and worked in Canada. I love my country. saying that now....\nThe last 10 years for Canada has been the worst ever in history, our government has destroyed the foundation of what it means to be Canadian and has made this country look very bad on the world stage.\nEventually that will change. This currently gives reasons why a Canadian wants to move from Canada.\nYou are right about the US, there are places you can move to that offer quiet, country, safe living but like Canada, those places usually trade the good life for lack of opportunity.. the difference is most of Canada gives you the good life and opportunity in the same place. A good example, Billings Montana or Red Deer Alberta... if you compare the 2, they are close, but overall life in Red Deer would be better.\nCulture has changed thoughts too, I could never get used to seeing anyone other that law enforcement carrying a gun.. I realize Americans have the right to carry guns.... but why? are you being invaded?\nI will pick up a gun if i need too in order to protect my country, but I don't need to prove it by displaying it in public. Given that alone, The american people have gluttoned themselves on firearms to the point of not just beating each other up in disagreements, but shooting each other... road rages in Canada dont usually end up death by shooting, people and kids don't usually walk into malls and schools and start shooting.\nYou cannot get guns that easy in Canada. 2 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @plasmar1 person living in Canada; I would consider least for a while, my reasons are most people I've met from US on the internet have been mostly pleasant(Minnesota, California, Florida, or Pennsylvania all seem great:) )...I agree with a little bit more flexible gun laws(if there was a happy in between I'd go with that:P)........ don't think the political scene would completely bother me(centrist at heart; mostly accepted by Conservatives and get along with Democrats/etc); I'm ok with the contrast.... 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @donwest5387 pavement and malls as far as the eye can see 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @silasalias canada just has too many positives to want to put those aside and move away.. if you can tolerate the winters. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @4444kermit Short, sweet & with no offense intended. Not even if you paid me. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @CanadianCrux Although I’m not at that age yet, there are a lot of retired Canadians known as “snowbirds” that go down to the US (eg Florida) for 5 months or so during winter. I wouldn’t move the US, but escaping winter would be nice. :) 5 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @jasongill5390 I could live in Southern California, Washington state or Miami area. Been there many times. I love going shopping and eating there.\n\nMy wife is from a foreign country and prefers Canada. She only likes North Vancouver as well to live. 2 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @HDMFanatic I think I'm the type who's too moderate to fit in anywhere in the US. I don't really have a strong political identity. All I really care about is equal rights for all. Plus I'm an atheist so I certainly couldn't live anywhere close to the Bible Belt, because if anyone tried to evangelize to me, I'd just tell them my honest perspective, and just be shunned and ostracized for it. 2 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @bollybobthorton4021 I am Canadian, but I love Texas. I couldn't move there though, my wife has a chronic condition 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @martin7473 Canadian people are living free and healthy in a safe country ... now why the fuck would they move to a shit hole country .... ??????? 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @user-xj9vf4xb9p I would move down there if I were rich for the warmer weather 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @cindydockendorff3401 I went to a conference in the US for training in body language, influence, and persuasion. We were able to meet with the presenters in small groups to ask questions. One of the attendees asked for body language indications that someone had a concealed weapon. After the answer, I said to the person who asked the question that I was glad I didn’t need to know how to look for concealed weapons because I’m from Canada. She looked at me in shock and said I really needed to know that. I emphatically responded, “No, I don’t need to know that because I’m from Canada.” She looked at me like I was the most naive and clueless person she’d ever met and walked away. I felt sad that Americans have to be so worried about guns that she thought that was absolutely essential knowledge. Quite frankly, I don’t even know what the answer was to her question since I totally tuned out because I knew I’d never need that information! 175 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @marleneracine1229 We'll welcome you with open arms when you do decide to come up, Tyler. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @Dimcle Not sure why you think school shootings occur only in big cities. Parkland, Uvalde, etc. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @crazyneedstostop I completely agree about the bat shit politics...it's the abortion issue, books, gays and all that other stuff the right wingers are cramming down the citizens' throats. The supreme court doesn't deserve to have the inititials capitalized 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @gcmgome Without considering people who marry Americans, there are only two major reasons any born and bred Canadian would move to the US and they are climate and economic opportunity. \nIf however you are of retirement age and have a bit of money, becoming a snowbird is still a viable option. Personally, I'd rather be salt water fishing out of Mobile, Alabama in February than stuck indoors, cursing the weather in Ontario.....but that's just me. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @MissMeganBeckett I was a teenager when my church youth group went on a trip to help repair houses for poor Americans, while I was there I had a crash on an atv and it didn’t appear life threatening so I didn’t go to the emergency room while I was in the states. I am on disability, the government gives me enough money for food and rent. I am currently working with my health care team to figure out if I have brain damage and if that brain damage is why I have problems that make it so I can’t work. My family wouldn’t be able to afford to get proper health care in the United States. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @andrewvautour1795 Seriously? McDonalds and Starbucks? We don't have McDonalds and Starbucks? News to me bro! We have amusement parks too and FYI, healthcare is totally free, we don't have to pay for it, not ever, not any procedure, period. Gun violence, need I say more. I like that there is the second amendment and that you can carry firearms BUT there has t be a better way of implementing it, too much gun violence, school shootings, mass shootings, it's just too scary to live there. I go to the US and I am always shocked by how people treat the service industry, waiters, waitresses, anyone that is in a position of service are treated like CRAP (for the most part), customers don't say please or thank you, they are not polite ay all, never got that, entitled people everywhere. The attitude that America is the greatest country in the world, where do they get off? America is the only free country? I think not. Abortion issue, the new bullcrap happening with TRANS and LGTBQXYZ and I have to play along with their mental disorders and fantasies, no thank you. I do not want to walk down the street in fear of my life, why in GOD's name would I want to live in a country that is the equivalent of a school bully. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @Butterflies-are-free I’ve loved California after visiting several times…and sooo wanted to move there. Since Trump, and what he’s done to your country…I’d never consider it now, sadly. I love Gavin Newsom though, and Joe Biden ?♥️?♥️? 2 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @michaeljamesstewart1000 There have been 23 school shootings in the USA this year that resulted in injuries or deaths, according to an Education Week analysis. There have been 167 such shootings since 2018. There were 51 school shootings with injuries or deaths last year, the most in a single year since Education Week began tracking such incidents in 2018. 2 years, 11 months ago @victoriamacpriest7130 You look a little sad ? I get it. You're proud of your country. \n\nAs a Canadian, I always felt the difference in basic attitudes between our countries may stem from our history of gaining national independence.\n\nYou all fought tooth and nail and are still immensely proud of that accomplishment. \n\nWe negotiated over time. It stands to reason our society would develop into one more invested in peace and negotiation, and even a deeper sense of social responsibility to our fellow citizens' welfare.\n\nI know of many different reasons why I love your country, enjoy visiting, and am glad we are neighbours. But to live in the US would take a change in my deeply ingrained sense of identity that I'm not willing to give up. \n\nI think you'll find even the Americans who joke about moving to Canada woukd find it similarly difficult to change their feelings. \n\nThank you for your interesting and respectful content. I always look forward to watching you. 95 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @karenseeley6174 Having your healthcare linked to your employment leads to exploitation. No one dares lose their job. And so, you get Americans who are afraid to take time off, or to protest working conditions. Land of the free? 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @guymarcgagne7630 The one and only reason to the USA would be to garner a pile of $$, or to complete higher educational objectives, which will in time, generate a higher income.\nAs this is unlikely to transpire in isolated rural communities in altogether liberal/blue States, one is confronted with the realities of heightened political polarization \nif not outright radicalisation, these MAGA types are ubiquitous and are the majority in many areas. Cultists are unpredictable at the best of times, however, when\ntheir GURU is being confronted by a multitude of serious legal challenges, the situation borders on the explosively untenable to a any reasonable non US citizen!\nAll other considerations aside, your contemporary political culture is vile/vicious/unhinged and unlikely to be resolved in the near future, as balanced critical thinking is\nregrettably in short supply throughout the USA, you simply cannot reverse more than a half century of a downward spiral in your educational system overnight!\nBe well & stay safe 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @robertcampomizzi7988 For catholics, swearing is a no no. But saying something that relates to the church is not for some reason. My italian grandmother would list off a bunch of saints names... Whether she was praying or cursing That's what determined which sa intshe said 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @leecox6241 If you can find a way to vacuum up guns, bibles, ignorance, then we might consider a visit. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @bscrimbitt9359 It's easy to say be strategic when choosing where to live. Unfortunately we all need to work. There's not always an opportunity to live somewhere like that. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @ebrena1876 No! I won't even visit the US. I get nervous when Americans want to come here. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @jams_toast1 A lot of Canadian YouTubers considered moving to the US if bill C-11 passed and if it starts doing things like forcing them to make more “Canadian videos” so that they can get Canadians to watch more “Canadian Videos” and other issues that could arise from the bill 3 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @saintscott1741 Canadian here. What I would like to visit the US for is the land. Yes we have incredible landscapes here, but since the land doesn't miraculous change at the border, the US has some great sights. I think you got the point about us being worried about guns. That's a topic you have briefly discussed in some of your videos but I think you could benefit from diving into that topic more. Canada is not immune to gun violence, however when something like a school shooting happens, it makes national news. In the US, that's just called nightly news. 8 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @gkarenko9593 It was funny to hear tou swearing in French. I'm glad you figured that out. 3 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @msgypsyqueen @13:00ish.. ‘Bin non, Tabarnak’..... that pretty much translates to: “Fu*k, NO!” .. lol ? 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @christhornycroft3686 I have spina bifida and I’ve had 20+ surgeries. I’m not leaving a country that kept me out of bankruptcy and death and kept me from getting shot. I’m white, but I’m not playing Russian Roulette with my life. I just in the last few years discovered cannabis as relief for my chronic pain. I know there are some places where it’s legal, but it isn’t worth the risk for me. I remember visiting LA when I was 12 and hearing about how cool and hip Beverly Hills was. When I got there, it looked worse than the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver, which is one of the poorest, most crime filled places in Canada. It was scary. That’s not the kind of “freedom” I’m looking for. You can’t exercise any freedom when you’re 6 feet under. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @surlycanadian 46 school shootings k-12 last year in the US. That’s an an average of 1.1 shooting per week during the September-June school year. Kids aren’t getting shot in school every day, just every fifth day. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @melgreier1630 Sorry Tyler, you walked right into that hornet’s nest... no clear-minded Canadian would ever willingly move to the USA unless it was for money or, as you said in the first 20seconds, ‘stuff’. When people talk about the USA, they talk about ‘stuff’ and ‘things’ , usually easily replaceable ‘stuff’ and ‘things’.... when people talk about Canada, they talk about ‘people’ and ‘places’. It’s not the stuff and things that make a country great, it’s the people and places... there’s a reason why not one Canadian has ever felt the need to make, sell, or wear a cap that declares ‘Make Canada Great Again’, because Canada has never stopped being great, and that’s because of its people and places.\nSorry again, bud! ?????? 2 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @bradycommon6648 The millions of dollars that are spent to protect children in schools is insane it is an industry that shouldn't exist and with all the stuff happening in Florida Disney will probably not exist there much longer people and businesses are leaving in droves 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @gwine9087 One of the worst lies Americans have been led to believe is that everyone outside of the US wants to be in the US. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @lynnduburstone I checked out of curiosity and there are only 6 states that have NOT had a mass shooting in 2023. There have been 383 mass. shooting. Maine, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, North and South Dakota. It's a big enough issue that there is an interactive map showing mass shooting. \n\nThat is enough of a reason to not move there. Plus you have Trump and I'd like to not even be on the same continent as that guy. Unfortunately, I'm stuck in north america. Maybe we should build a wall ? just kidding. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @paulafilipe3469 As an American who has lived in Canada a very long time, I would never ever even think about moving back. 96 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @curzon176 Yeah my dude, that healthcare is a total dealbreaker. If not for that, i might consider it for sure. 2 O0gJtVar7_E
