2 years, 11 months ago @stephenmccormack5272 There have been 23 school shootings (K to 12) resulting in injury or death this year alone in the U.S.. There have been 167 school shootings resulting in injury or death since 2018. I think the reluctance of most Canadians to move to the U.S. in the face of such statistics is well founded. This feeling is reinforced by the knowledge that the US government and a large portion of American citizens prefer to do nothing about it. The price of being an American? No thanks. Too high for us. 6 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @moniquelefebvre4798 French swear words tend to be religious in origin. English-language swear words tend to be scatological or about sex. lol 3 O0gJtVar7_E

2 years, 11 months ago @MichaelYoder1961 Mais non, tabernac = but no, tabernac (most Quebecois swearing is based in religion) 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @DBeau73 Was it Robin Williams that made a joke comparing the US and Canada. Not sure I will write it properly, but it went something like this. 'Canada is like that very nice apartment just above a meth lab.' I'm sure you all know what the meth lab is right? 5 O0gJtVar7_E

2 years, 11 months ago @TashOnTheRock Seriously we have a hard time understanding the American view point when it comes to guns. No offence but with the number of school shootings per year in the US and the deep seeded need to be able to own a gun , it appears that your country values gun ownership over child safety . Which is just mind blowing. Don’t get me wrong we have school shooting too, And other types of violence in schools, nowhere near what is happening south of our border . But , from our perspective the numbers speak for themselves. Just look how many have happened so far in 2023. ✌️? * just Google “ School shootings 2023 by country” . We worry for your children every day. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @DanielleSRussell For many of these reasons a lot of Canadians are restricting or completely avoiding even visiting the US; in particular LGBTQ+ folks, and women who are or might be pregnant are really having to think about their safety and if they are protected under the law in the state or jurisdiction they are visiting. 7 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @PeBoVision The USA is the only Western Democracy in a constant battle to take away the rights of its citizens in the name of a return to Puritanism.\nAnd you want me to give up Single-payer health care (and multi-culturalism) for THAT? \nThere is not enough money in the world. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @Jasper0o0 This might be cold, but when I hear of another mass shooting in the US, I roll my eyes, & think only in America. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @kyleellis1825 Racism, religious extremism, political psychos... That's 100 times worse in the states. You guys are just find with school shootings being a part of day to day life, the RodeVWade treating women like chattel. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @Stewart682 Not only would I never live there but I would never visit either. It would take me about 4 hours by car to get to Seattle (I live in Nanaimo) but I'd rather go randomly anywhere North or East. 3 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @moniquelefebvre4798 I enjoy your channel! (from Ottawa). Can I make a small comment, though? Given that Canada and the US are both in America, when you talk about living in America, it sets my teeth on edge. Most Canadians refer the the US as either The US or the States. 21 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @nancystevens1252 At one point (before that last pres. you had down there) I would consider visiting the US for a vacation. I won't even do that now - never mind moving there. And I think what has happened with so many in the US is that they've become habituated to the presence of guns. That's not a thing in most other cultures and countries, unless they are at war. 65 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @acarriere30 After watching even american saying no on moving to america. Would you consider trying to live in canada and see what so great about it? 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @lordjinnai I lived in the US for four years and the asthma inhalers costed me 90 american dollars. In Canada it's free. 11 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @myowndrum286 Most of these responses seemed to be from left-leaning people in Canada. British Columbia is NDP, socialist leaning, in other words. I'm from Alberta. We recently had an election here and made it abundantly clear we do not want the NDP running our province. We have a gun culture here and won't give up our arms. I didn't read one mention of the PM in Canada. Yet, walk around and all you hear about is the hatred people have of him and the division he has caused. The leader of the NDP sides with him. I actually have dual citizenship, so harbor no bad feelings to the US. I just don't go where there are a lot of left-leaning Dems/Liberals. Alberta to Texas is almost like not leaving Alberta, just going to the ranch down the way and visiting family. 0 O0gJtVar7_E

2 years, 11 months ago @catherinemorgan2741 There were 51 school shootings in 2022 that resulted in injuries or deaths, the most in a single year since Education 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @marleneworth3355 I have lived there for 4 months and would never go back! I keep planning to go visit my daughter, but I am afraid ,just because of the average attitude you encounter in every day life. Americans are scary, guns, attitude toward immigrants, they call our health care socialism, etc. 10 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @deborahl7875 Not under any circumstances. No. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @stephanegendroncartier5973 I would never move to the USA. I can think of at least of 20 countries i would rather live then the USA. France, Sweden, New Zealand, Australia, Norway, Italy, Netherland, Belgium, French Polynesia, Mexico, Finland... 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @MrBrandon224ludlow To give perspective on the gun violence/ mass shootings.\nUsa mass shooting 2023 so far- over 300\n\nCanada mass shootings 2023 so far- 2 (0 killed) 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @gregblair5139 There racist and religious right undertone (it's mostly the same people) in the US is just horrible. It's not the majority, but it's a sizable minority whose power is amplified by the Electoral College and by the disproportionate Senate! 25 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @sblsbl7600 I like the US weather and being into old cars I love the rust free old cars. I have driven across the US twice and I really like the American people. I don't think guns are needed in a modern society. 4 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @debs11100 Tyler,it's simple, we won't move to 'merica because of the racism, guns, maga turds, removal of women's rights, the way you guys worship liars(fox), the crazies you all elect, the extreme rich churches, healthcare, billionaires not paying taxes, removal of social programs for the poor, and many, many more(florida, texas, etc.) When we watch the real news, because in Canada it must be true to be news, we watch with horror as your country burns to the ground because of people like drumpf, musk, gym jordan, mtg, etc. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @t.a.k.palfrey3882 You know how New Englanders look askance at Floridians and those from the Ozarks? Well, that's about how Canadians think of most in the US. ? 8 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @taakelur School shootings and health care. Would you really take the chance that it wouldn't happen in your school, or that you only get coverable illnesses? Seems a bit of a gamble. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @joannahampton5979 Just due to random mass shootings on a daily basis alone is enough not to move there plus so many more valid reasons that Tyler refused to talk about. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @mitchd4929 I stayed in Golden CO for a week for work; that seemed like a perfectly fine place. I'd be ok 2 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @donnadunlop No can't even consider it, health care, politics, weather, shootings, policing and my list goes on. Yes it is a beautiful country with lots of really nice people and friends and i have visited quite a bit but the pluses are far less than the negatives. Tyler come to Canada, we are not perfect but you our kind of guy 20 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @sadp9013 Only for healthcare i would not i saw a reaset and health insurence plan. Right there i say no ? 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @MER1978 Health care has probably been a top reason for a long time.. also mass shootings.. but lately.. we have anti abortion transphobic regressive types here as well.. but it feels like the odds of them getting into power broadly is pretty slim. 4 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @vintagemoss9578 Absolutely NO! When I married my American husband, I brought him here to Canada. If you ask him now if he would want to move back he says “absolutely not!” Lolol It’s not just about medical issues either. 38 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @toddstevens13 Of course you do not have a discussion about children getting slaughtered in schools. Sadly you have all become Numb to it, and seems to sadly accepted it is part of your daily lives. How that happened is pathetic to us. Australia had one school shooting decades ago now, and in less then 2 weeks all assault rifles, etc were outlawed. Now that is leadership, which the average American now knows they never deserve. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @gregblair5139 If somebody lived in Canada his (her) entire adult life in Canada, (s)he would not be eligible for US Medicare. 5 O0gJtVar7_E

2 years, 11 months ago @michellestruik8069 It has been over 30 years since I vacationed in the US, and I live 30 minutes from the border. Rome fell, now it's the US's turn 7 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @Karina_Leigh Children ARE being shot on a daily basis all over the United States! You guys have multiple mass shootings every single day. There's so many of them that you don't even hear about most of them on the news because they aren't worth mentioning. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @2727rogers The biggest reason why a Canadian would move to the US is greed. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @2727rogers Having a pre existing condition that would a big no for me. Not fussy about every idiot having a gun as well. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @geoffharper8650 Like the saying goes -its a nice place to visit but I wouldnt want to live there . 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @littleredridinghood5622 I wouldn't even think about moving to the US .. The US is so far behind other countries in so many different ways ... 65 O0gJtVar7_E

2 years, 11 months ago @claireball9355 Tyler, just come to Ottawa and stay for a week and see if you wanta' go back….lol? 6 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @kenkuhn52 I've lived in Chicago and have many American friends who I love. The extremes , however bother me. 3 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @xPeopleKindx No. I wouldn't. Unless health care became free in the States, then yes, I would 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @LaurieLeeAnnie From what I have seen, most of the health care in the USA is Go Fund Me health care. 15 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @TheNinthGeneration1 I remember seeing a lot of conservatives say they’d move to Canada back when gay marriage was legalized in the US, but they didn’t realize we’d (Canada) already legalized it for a decade by then. 679 O0gJtVar7_E
