It's no trade war, it's protectionnism. Something you should have done way before in your 10-year tenure. Also, he's not allying Putin, he's negociating on behalf of world peace. Canada has issues, for sure. But a lot of them stem from the issues the whole world is going through. The fallout of neoliberalism and the crashout of the USA. Canada must understand United States is not the enemy. There is a common enemy for both Canada and the United States which is China. Canada should focus on countering China and not the United States.

Remember that all of this came from the fact that Trump believes that a trade deficit means we lose out when we are a heavily consumerist country. This is going to be a very interesting wake up call when the realization that most of our manufacturing requires outside materials.
