One branch of my family came to Camada in the 1600's and married a woman of First Nation origin whose people had been here for centuries. I have no problem with immigrants to Canada. They have enriched our country.

The problem is, if the immigrants keep coming in, it would change canada so much that it ceases to be a liberal democratic country that values people's rights; it's easy enough for immigrants to "roll back" their beliefs to a previous version, if even one or two charismatic new immigrants start fomenting those beliefs. The very thing could undermine itself, so there should be tighter bordres. The people who've been there since 1979 don't have to leave.

I think the problem is the government need to educate people coming to American learn the culture and respect the people and culture. I learn a lot from the culture and good pole.

the problem with people that immigrate to foreign countries - they think they are being treated unfairly because they pay higher fees. Most of people that immigrate for study dont know that the domestics get charged lower because their fees are subsidized.

Same problem as pretty much everywhere in the western world at the moment. Mass migrations occur and consist of people who REFUSE TO ASSIMILATE. You can't just go to a foreign country and behave exactly like you did back home. There's different laws, social norms, cultural practices and expectations...

I do love canada and its culture. Even as a immigrant I had a blessing to be in a country that welcomed people. Now its getting to worst part of being that welcoming. In recent years I have seen and felt the humiliation I even faced even after becoming PR of this country. That jobless problem is real, very real. The problem is that we don't have enough homes and jobs. If anything, as a Canadian, my dad coming from Ireland as an imagrant; everyone deserves an opportunity. Working in insurance, just wanna mention so some of these judgemental people who have spoken understand that Canadian hospitals bill patients who are not citizens.

Its not the people who are the problem. Its the govt and their policies.

there is one way to solve this problem and that is financial punishment for rule breaking. it's the only thing these people understand. and i think whoever opened the flood gates understands this very well also

This is a multifaceted problem for us. Firstly we keep emigrating people in, to deal with a declining population, instead of addressing the issues directly resulting in declining population, like the housing problem, cost of living, under paying jobs, and astronomical Post secondary prices to get basic diplomas I know for a fact that 90's babies will be the last generation to have more then one child. Another issue is the recruitment centers in India, funded by Canadian corporations looking for cheap labor, promising the world to struggling Indians only to back out of every promise they made, and put the burden on the government and Canadians. This plus a lack of population control in India, is set that to have Indians to be over 25% of the global population in the next 50 years.

If you have a problem with immigration then you need to talk to your government and city council about it. These people are coming legally per your country’s rule, so no point blaming them to be there. You should have a problem with your government to stop this not the people.

I certainly don’t have any problems with most of these people on an individual level. However when the demographic radically change and there is not enough infrastructure to support people and assimilation is not happening it becomes a severe impediment to a flourishing nation.

Ain't it something how not even 100 years ago when people had problems with certain people they knew how to make them leave.

The overwhelming problem that people struggle to realize is Canada with its roughly 40,000,000 people are going to notice an influx from a country that has over 1 billion and is quickly modernizing which is allowing families to leave their country and immigrant around the world just like they should. Localization is only prompted by friendly circumstances. It is seen everywhere with cultural neighborhoods

Well Visa expires but those people have update their status and already has new one some of them got PR. But still their visa expired that means that’s also come into this number 2.9M visas. Yes there are some people overstaying and need to be removed otherwise there will be problems. But let’s just keep our facts right

How is CBSA going to track all of these people down? 30K deportations in a year is a lot less than 2.9 million. Somehow I think this is going to a difficult problem to resolve. CBSA is not staffed for this.

These immigrants were scheduled to leave anyway. They were well aware of it. So, it is not based on new immigration rules. It is one of the reasons they had more tent cities and 2 million people going to food banks along with 2/3 of Canadians with only 500.00 a month after all monthly bills were paid.
